The way Scott Adkins pays homage to Jean Claude Van Damme i.e. "The gold standard of this kick" speaks much to his humility & social graces. Respect! I'm beginning to understand why only Scott Adkins can pull off Yuri Boyka to perfection - this man is BADASS. Full-stop.

Yeah as you can tell I am a fan. Have been since 9 years old now 40. I was also lucky enough to meet him in 2012 and get a signed pic. What may surprise you is he’s a very small guy as in height and stature. Looks massive on camera lol.
Years ago, I went to a Scott Adkins kicking course. During that, he gave a couple of small pointers on how to improve your kicks, one of which was getting your hips in line when doing a step up side kick.
He's just done it again, with the "set" movement he does 👍 Normally I go into a spinning hook kick off something else so I have the spin, but from stationary it's a great move. Watching again, he does the "set" so fast, you can miss it, but it's there and speaks to excellent technique (as you'd expect).

When you see something performed by Scott Adkins, you realize what the top level really is. But what is great about him is that being so skilled, he can show it in every necessary detail in a very easy to understand way. Also, greetings to Scott for being so honest and give the big credit to Van Damme, to me they are both equally inspirational and legendary. I'm happy I grew up with actors like Van Damme, Dolph, Arnold, Stallone etc., but even happier that today there are still such great people in the face of Scott Adkins - every boy deserves to grow up with the action heroes they represent.
Respect for giving van damme the title of the best version of that kick. He a legend and we are all watching you grow into a legend too.

What a great martial artist on so many levels. He pays homage to JCVD who inspired many people to become martial artists.
Scott is an amazing teacher and an even better martial artist in his own right. What boggles my mind, is that this video is performed in SUCH a SMALL area. He does such a high level jumping kick in an area where a small amount of error could lead to extreme injury. And he does it without any hesitation. That is badass.
Big fan of you Scott. Your tutorials are helping me a lot in this lockdown as i dont get bored and spend my time doing martial arts.
