    I didn't know all of these were considered roundhouse kicks. I'm a pretty big guy and can't really do certain kicks but I've been needing a workout so I've been doing kicks among other things. I'll do a set of 20 kicks per leg multiple times a day twice a week and these ones came naturally (except the scissor one).
    I always thought the only round house was the kind that went all the way not a quarter or halfway. I just think it's strange I'd accidentally teach myself any though. I think the biggest reason I did though was because I saw a Muay Thai video where someone mentioned the way you pivot your feet and I just tried adapting it to my own kicks which resulted in these.

    • @MMAShredded
      @MMAShredded  4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Big thumbs up to this vid. You have no Idea how much of help this vid is to me as I am having hard time with my kick specially om sparring. By the way Jeff I was wondering if you can do low kick set ups. Or 10 low kicks same style as this video. I got kicked in my inner leg with a low kick and it hurt like hell compared to getting low kicked on the outer leg.

    I know you talk alot about power and how some kicks generate less. But the fact that they are disguised makes such a big difference, it can be less powerful but much more effective in damage. For example while sparring, when i unload kicks that are more telegraphed and powerful, my partner doesn't seem too bothered, but however when i throw a sneaky, faster and less telegraphed kick i noticed that it fazes my sparring partner A LOT more,

    • @MMAShredded

    Where's the failed attempts for the lead leg shuffle kick? And almost a minute of you hitting it on live opponents? You were not joking when you said it's your favorite... Seems like it is almost invisible to your opponents when you throw it. I was wondering, why do you sometimes chamber the kick but other times just throw it Thai style? For timing / distance reasons, I'm guessing?

    • @MMAShredded
      @MMAShredded  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      the lead leg shuffle kick is the fastest, and ill throw it when my opponent moves forward at me (which requires it to be thrown quick). Hmm I couldn't find any footage on failed attempts of that kick.. although I assure you there has been many. thanks for watching!

    Question: Should you stay tall or lean back when you kick? I notice that Jeff leans back whenever he does a kick but other tutorials like Fighttips teach us otherwise

    • @gxyjin1600
      @gxyjin1600 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Max Wong the answer is depend. He leans back a little to avoid any possible punches or counters(he is making some distance so your opponent finds it difficult to reach you) . Obviously, you should lean back when hitting simultaneously with your opponent, otherwise he/she can predict it and swipes you up, or when you are sure to be well balanced while you are doing it.

    • @MMAShredded
      @MMAShredded  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Jeff lowkey giving predictions for Connor v Cowboy fight?
    Cowboy is a great kicker. Connor changing stances...
    Well played Jeff.
    Edit: Love your content Jeff, you should try Singapore, not only its great to visit but there is Evolve MMA. Great thai kickboxers there. I believe Yoshikai (Hope I got the name right) is there, the guy who beat Saenchai. Good stuff to learn from there. Great stuff man.

    Hey Jeff, huge fan of your content, you're a very good fighter and instructor.
    I have a question though, you seem to let your head wip when you do some of the kick variations when you're demonstrating but not when you're sparring? ye I know it's no good doing it when you actually spar but it's just something I was wondering.

      hmm maybe I was just trying to kick the pad really hard and it whipped my head to the side LOL

    Hey Jeff, have you gotten many knockdowns/cover ups/staggers (however you want to term it) from kicking to the opponents left side (their left)? I know everyone loves kicking at the liver so much that the left side never really gets much love.

    • @MMAShredded
      @MMAShredded  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I would say I land my left kick more! ahaha
