street photography with a hasselblad isnt something i thought i'd see today but i love it
I can confirm that the X2D is a hell of a camera for walking about the streets as well. ❤ Lovely work there, Mark!
Your photos are amazing and the editing is crazy. I love it
while stationed in Germany back in the early 90s I had the chance to shoot with a Hasselblad 500 CM and instantly fell in love with it. Such a smooth camera. I would love a Hasselblad digital but I need to hit Lotto first 🙂
Another great video Mark. Some cracking images and the 360 was great to help tell the story of your vlog
You illustrated the best thing I found about this camera, the way you can shoot hand held in the street at really slow shutter speeds and get beautiful motion blur of people walking and vehicles in your shot, while the still things are super sharp. It just does that better than any other camera.
Creating art, using a piece of art 👌📸🤙🏼
What an absolute joy to watch as an Amatuer photographer "I had interest only in wildlife and landscape until i watched your videos now i love watching videos on street and i now like participating in street photography .
That last shot was amazing
Stunning photos always an inspiration for my street photography
The marketing is genius, because the brand is associated with high end, tripod, lights, backdrops, assistants and a whole load of setting up. It's actually a reasonably manageable camera and easily used anywhere you would take a mirrorless or DSLR. Apart from having to remortgage the house obviously...
Oh, and your intro on its own is better than most full length videos on TH-cam!
Great! Feels like a walk with you through London. Love your videos mate
Awesome, thank you!
Excellent camera, great development/colorimetry. great job
Thank you for a really great review!
Fabulous, inspirational photos Mark! Best job of selling the X2D I've seen. Seriously tempted to sell the Phase One gear now...
I get my adventure travel kit next week! You inspired me. Thank you so much!
Have fun!
I really enjoy looking your vids. This one too. And your dev in LR is awesome.
Incredable colours and clarity - oh, and of course, fantastic video Mark, as always.......
Many thanks!
I love your work
Great shots, Mark. I love shooting in London. Wish we lived there.
I absolutely love your videos.
Thanks. Glad you like them!
Phenomenal photographer and awesome Vlog as always Mark!
Thanks Richie!
@@MarkMcGeePhotos Welcome Mark.
Great video, mark. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it, Jules.
Beautiful
You always make your videos interesting can’t fail to come away with so many ideas to try. Many thanks Mark
I found it pretty cool how some of the photos can be found after you've taken them in the signs during the video such as the explanation of pixel count and the photo of the brightly colored man in the phone booth on the sign as you look at it 👍
Could someone tell me, how was that ? 2:53 and then 3:45
great!
That camera is not even on my wish list only in my dreams. Thanks for sharing.
amazing 🤩
Awesome vlog again mark! Hasselblad is a super kamera. But not wallet friendly! 🤣 Great street photography. You truly are one of the best photography vlogers out there regards Adrian
Thanks, very kind of you!
Your amazing 👌🏼
been thinking of going to a full-frame body for a while. never gave any thought to medium format. but after this video think I'll save up a little longer to upgrade to medium format.
outstanding
Very nice video and great photos, well done 🙂
Dream camera
RESPECT!
I would also like to do this test in a colorful London. Beautiful work, but the photos are all so dark and gloomy. Everyone has their style of course. I hesitated between this Hasselblad and bought the Leica SL2. Also a gem.
Gods Gift. This Photographer. Ayushmaan Bhava.
I'm inspired!
I have (and love) the X1D so a delight to see this - I note from the camera screen/meter you seem to be underexposing by 1 or 2 stops - was that deliberate?
Impressive! A little out of my range $$$
that's what's nice about digital
It would be great for landscape, portrait etc
nice tuto and pictures.
- Do you use AF-S or back button focus afon to focus and recompose ?
- In manual exposure mode, do you use auto iso because it changes all the time on your video ? if so, doesn't auto iso increase too much for dark areas damaging what you have done with aperture and speed ? when i shoot manual, i set aperture, then iso to a fix 400, 800 or 1600 value according to light conditions and tune shutter speed and if too low, i change iso and set again shutter speed.
Love your edits man, that dark rich look.
Muito bom
:Last time I was in London in the 90's, I was using an old Canon Rebel film camera, and I took some seriously sad photos. The town just seems so much more vibrant than the cold, rainy April day I was there,
Hello, which image editing program and which preset do you use?
Wow, some seriously impressive photos there. Thanks for sharing.
I am unhappy though! I am lucky to have a Sony a7RV (which I love) with a good selection of 5 prime lenses and one zoom. But always at the back of my mind there is that desire for an unaffordable extra … a Leica Q2. This has now been replaced for a serious desire for one of these Hasselblad street kits! This, despite the fact I am still a long way off making the most of my current camera! Thanks for introducing me to such an amazing piece of equipment, and for some great ideas on slowing down my street photography.
A question if I may? I enjoy the way you manage such dark backgrounds with strong contrast between the light and dark spaces in many of your photos. Do you under expose? Or is this something you do in post? Thanks again.
Nice video
Beautiful pics what camera was you filming this episode on ?
I love yo workbro I would like to become a best photographer like u I call u my mentor in photography
街拍太難了.....我拍不來....佩服您 !!....
New sub. Found you because for the first time in 20 years, Im buying a stills camera for me. not work. Not for my channel. Me. And your style of shooting is fantastic.
great video, I've just found your channel! what tripod and selfie stick are you using?
Hello, nice video, but i have one question, why is the diameter of some lenses really big, and others like on the hasselblad lenses just like the size of a coin and still premium?
Hi @Mark McGee Photos! With what did you film the video footage?
That selfie with the narrow base tripod made my butt clench.
Did you get a chance to try it with any manual focus /third party lenses? I got surprisingly sharp 16:9 images using a GFX100s and a 15mm Voigtlander Mk3.
Love your videos
Can I get images like yours with mi k5iis?
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
If I had to splurge 12000 dollars on a camera setup to cover my street, landscape and travel needs, I sure as hell am using it for street as well. Totally capable camera for street.
I definitely don’t need that camera. I definitely can’t afford that camera.
But I’m going to buy one anyway. Can’t wait to study the resulting images on my phone . 🤣
sorry were you editing jpegs? didn't think hassy files could be read in lightroom? the only reason I won't jump onto this system
great review Savoy shot was my favourite 2
i’d really love to see the raw photos from this camera!
I noticed that you were in acting (The stage show, which I saw). Did the photography come from the acting, or the other way round? (Three seconds handheld, wow!).
The shadows are so crushed on my iPhone. What monitor are you using for editing?
You don't need that gear to produce good streetphotography- it took years for me to understand! I thought when you wanna do better photos you need better gear so I bought a fullframe camera and serveral prime lenses like the 85mm 1.4 GM or the Sigma 35mm 1.4 but I found out that improving your skills is actually more important!
Totaly agree!
Stunning and brave comment
Hi Mark, where can I buy a Dolores like the one you have ?
I would be worried walking around London with mine! Ive had a few issues with mine. Hasselblad are hopeless and never get back to you. The new v lenses are not available unless you wait a year! the 90mm longer. The lenses are very good but big and heavy so kinda making a light camera really heavy. The focusing is slow and it hunts a fair bit in low light, its pretty slow to use. Obviously superb images no doubt about that. The new software update adds some new features but my camera wont update, firmware issue. Great camera bit glitchy, no help from Hassie, frustrating to own but great pictures.
14:08 that's pretty insane
❤👏👍
The pictures were color graded right? Are the Hasselblad raw colors better than the Sony a1 ones?
Nice video and pictures. I love this camera but no face af… and the price of that thing 😭
@3:37 why is that corners wobbling? Sony special?
Never mind the camera ;) but which backpack is that?
I can’t seem to find information on this. Is this still ongoing?
👍❤️👍
Do you have any kind courses on editing and photography.?
I'm probably being stupid here but why have 16-bit images if we don't have a monitor to display all of those colors when editing?
Very nice...but the price ? 😮😮
I challenge you to do a street photography at a city,, state, or federal nature park.
why have an iso of 1600 when you're outside with all that light? im not being critical, I've learned a few things from this channel and I wanted to know if there some benefit to having your ISO higher than needed.
الله يرزقنا
العين طويله واليد قصيره
How much editing did you do?
Is camera samples straight out of camera or edited
I'd feel confident i could get the same on my Nikon d4s
9:12 and no continuous AF. However, I wished, other brands also had something like HNCS.
I wish Hasselblad had asked me!
My London 1965 Hasselblad Kodacolour photos
were sharp(er), at 16 seconds because of using a tripod.
Are these images doctored in post
Is it strictly photos? No video? Sorry if it’s a dumb question
The X1D, the X1Dii & the 907X all had video @ 1080p. The X2D 100c has no video capabilities at all.
So much work! Great Video! Thank you!
BS.
It's a special camera, but it comes with a special price. € 8,699.00 with 55mm f/2.5 Lens
I will stick with my Nikon Z9.
why do you make them so dark?
@craigc7708: Because that is his style.
bit depth has nothing to do with vibrancy, its all about the gradients and steps from the highest point of illumination to the lowest point.
Thats also why HDR needs higher bit rate because with higher brightness you need more steps to minimize banding
Is this video convincing and inspiring enough?
What would Brian Duffy say to David Bailey in 1965,
seeing this guy roaming the streets with a Hasselblad?
Thanks for a good video. I think you are making your pics to dark och to hard on contrast in post.
Interesting to see what you can get for a mere $12,800 in the US...
