I tried to go there in 2019 after skiing at Seven Springs. it was snowing while I drove up the mountain road without four wheel drive. I made it about 1/4 mile from the top and couldnt get the rest of the way due to traction. I ended up having to back down to where all the cabins are before I could turn around. I then drove to Wisp for the day.
Wow! I believe it, that was a sketchy drive up. The valley had no snow, and all of a sudden I'm climbing a snow covered mountain lol. Have to love blue knob, feels like a remote weather station haha
I actually was going to use this same track in my Canaan vid I'm working on this evening, lol. Hope to have that up in a little bit, still have more Timberline and Wisp footage to post from 2 weeks ago. Blue Knob looks like a pretty good place to rip it and glad to see the snow still on the ground up in the northeast. I'm having the itch pretty bad already after my New Year's trip, have to decide where I'm going to go in February. Half thinking about Snowshow since I haven't been there in a million years, but I'll probably just wind up back at Canaan/Timberline. I saw the other day Canaan is up to 17 open trails so would be worth it this time for sure. Might hit up Cataloochee this weekend if I can get my lazy A$$ out of bed on Saturday morning, lol.
Ooyy is the truth for music selection haha; I always say that's the most difficult part of creating a video, the music! I say send it back to Timberline and Canaan. We'll have to collab on the Canaan video in February! Conditions have been so fun this season with the snowfall, we deserved it lol
@@ADHski Another storm coming in this weekend as well. I was thinking about going to NC on Friday night, but they have a winter storm watch, 6+ inches in the higher elevations and Saturday is supposed to be bitter cold so I may just wait and go up Sunday when it warms up after the snow moves out. That road into Cataloochee is pretty dicey so I don't want to play with it Friday night or Saturday morning when it's supposed to be below freezing, lol. Saw WV is getting another dump this weekend as well. One of the best seasons I can remember so far in terms of snowfall, especially in recent memory.
Ive been waiting for this! Great vid and a very underrated mountian. I go here very often for expert terrain and its some of the most challenging in the whole region!
I was actually thinking of going there today but i instead went to Massanutten Resort in VA for KILLER deal! It was my first time there and dont regret it! From struggling through green trails in December to charging down my first double black diamond today!!! If you haven't been i recommend it, stupidly easy trails but the views are spectacular! Idk if you've been or not but that should be your next resort!
Congrats man, that's awesome! Keep ripping. I went to Massanutten last season! The double black trail is new this year, may have to check it out! Headed to Wintergreen this Saturday for the next one! Nice channel as well
Nice video - you need to get to Laurel Mountain... definitely old school cool with better slope maintenance. Of course, you're always welcome back to Hidden Valley... home of hero snow!
Laurel is a third of the size of bk and they seem to always lose power and blame the state park. BK is on a state park and never loses power unless weather related.
Thanks for the content. I appreciate all the effort. Gawd, PA skiing is bloody awful. Usually I am crazy with anticipation this time of year but this dose of reality really tosses cold water all over that. I am lucky I get to take two trips out West to ski every year and only end up skiing a few days here in the Commonwealth. Yes, crap skiing is worse than no skiing.
@@ADHski Thx. Mostly Breck and Vail and Jackson. Been to Tahoe and Utah a few times. Working in the gym daily to be ready for our six week ski season here. Ha.
Try snowboarding bro, a good all mountain board is awesome in any conditions! Def easier then skiing on a sub prime day. Theyre fully open Im headed there tomorrow, had the best MIDA pow day of my life here 10 years ago!
Conditions are prime there to be honest, especially since its been years since real snowfall! That would be hilarious, next year might need to make a "tries snowboarding video"
@@ADHski I rode Blue Knob yesterday, not exactly Prime Stembogan was quite icy(today 1/19/240 is prime) Timberline's amazing grooming has me spoiled. Great day on the mountain regardless!
If there are lift towers on a narrow run it’s not gonna be groomed. You rub one of those towers with a snow cat you can cause untold damage. So suck it up. Lol
Ha, Blue Knob, that place always seems to be windy and cold as heck! Nice vid
Thanks It sure is! I see why accuweather donated the weather beacon up top!
I have a blue knob waiting for the Stoke Squad meetup :). Hell yeah man!
hahah, March is coming quickly. let's goooo, the return of the Nuno
hey man its ty! nice vw parked beside you as well haha very spot on with the review! have to meet up and ride a resort soon man
GLI gang! love it man! Yes sir, I'd be down. let me know! Nice to meet you out there

coincidentally when I was at LM, a groomer broke down right before rope drop lol. Still had a blast@@bobadexbundy5566
I’ve only been to BK once and it was awesome. Ski good or eat wood!
That's right! The backside of Liberty is calling my name!
@@ADHski I’m back there scanning MWF mornings till 3. Eastwind Quad!
Used to ride there when my son went to college in Altoona, good memories
That's awesome!! Full circle!
Is the "rasta hut" still there? I remember seeing that in 2012. I expected to find the necronomicon in there...
lol, I didn't spot the rasta hut! Maybe a return trip is warranted with tuned skis haha. Hope all is well!
It's still there. It's over on Jack rabbit. It looked like he was riding Expressway mostly.
I learned to ski here !!!
great place to learn, doesn't get tougher than that in PA!
