Price and Yuri, with support from Nikolai, move in to assassinate Makarov in the Hotel Oasis in Dubai. The mission begins with Price and Yuri wearing Juggernaut armor inside a van while Nikolai taps into the security feed of the hotel. Price and Yuri proceed up the road, fighting a large army of Oasis security guards. Eventually they arrive at the entrance to the hotel, walk up a flight of stairs, and enter an elevator. As the elevator rises, an enemy chopper fires on them. Price and Yuri are able to destroy the helicopter, but it spins out of control, crashing into the elevator the two are in, destroying their Juggernaut Armor in the process. The elevator then begins to fall and the pair must then jump to another lift which Nikolai hacked.
Price and Yuri then ride the elevator up to the 27th floor. Nikolai then informs them to hurry to catch up with Makarov. Pursuing Makarov, the two fight their way around the triangular penthouse, into a diner, past a small stage and into a hallway. The escape helicopter then appears and fires at them, partially collapsing the building's top floor. Price's weapons fall off the edge and he almost falls off (but gets back up). However, Yuri is wounded; a piece of rebar pierced through his abdomen, pinning him to the ground. Yuri then tells Price to not worry about him and to stop Makarov. Price then runs up the collapsed ceiling and across the helipad to Makarov's helicopter. Just as it starts leaving the roof, Price jumps onto the helicopter, grabs the pilot by the leg, and tosses him out of the helicopter. The copilot draws his USP .45 but Price puts up a struggle, inadvertently firing a shot into the controls. Price proceeds to take out a knife and thrust it into the co-pilot's throat, and throws him into the air as well. Price then takes control of the helicopter, attempting to prevent it from crashing, but to no avail.
Price awakes to find himself on a glass ceiling that's going to shatter. He notices Makarov, wounded, climbing out of the helicopter, and the two begin a slow crawl for a Desert Eagle. Price manages to reach the gun, but Makarov stomps on Price's hand, making Price release the gun, and takes the pistol, but before he can kill Price, Yuri arrives just in time and shoots Makarov with his USP .45, wounding him further. However, Makarov murders Yuri; this buys Price enough time to heave himself off the ground and onto Makarov. After stunning Makarov with a few blows with his fists, Price wraps a steel cord connected to the helicopter around Makarov's neck and strangles him with it. Price is able to break the damaged glass ceiling they are fighting on, causing both of them to fall. Makarov is killed due to being hanged with the steel cable while Price survives the fall as he safely lands on the floor below the roof. Price lights a cigar and watches Makarov's hanging corpse while police sirens are heard in the background.

Honestly they made the right choice not having him die instantly.
Seeing him realize his impending doom and only be able to yell out his anger was the catharsis we all needed.
I would rather they let us shove the bastard headfirst into the flaming chopper. Really hear him suffer for what he did before he finally takes the express to hell.
As awesome as they made Menendez and as much as a boss they made him out to be I wish isn't it was a little more satisfying as well

When I was 13-14 playing this campaign, I was grinding the last few missions and getting thirsty. My older brother, having come home from college, had a mini fridge in his room with a Gatorade in it. Thinking he wouldn’t mind, I took the Gatorade and finished the game. But as I was playing everything started to change, the tv screen I was playing on became more like a window to a different reality. I WAS Price. I could feel everything, his rage, the heat of battle, and the bittersweet taste of revenge and victory. After a VERY intense and immersive gaming experience I was then informed my brother had dissolved 4 hits of acid in the Gatorade I drank. Ngl pretty life changing experience.

After a badass final kill, everything is somber for a moment as Captain Price and the player realize that it’s over, and reflect on the heroes that were lost getting here. But then the score turns triumphant as Price knows his fallen friends can rest easy, now that Makarov has finally met his end.
Thus, Captain Price brings the modern warfare trilogy full circle-just as his first mission in MW1 began with him smoking a cigar, throwing it away and getting to work, MW3 ends with Price’s mission complete, and him lighting a cigar to celebrate his victory.

Honestly, a TH-camr had an alternate ending that sounded pretty cool. As Soap, you are in control when you are shot by makarov. You see Price and Makarov fight, before a pistol is slid your way, like in the other games. But, as you raise it to fire, it jams and you die. Not as cool as this but still pretty good.
The new MW games just got worse with each installment. The first one was great, second one was decent, third was just crap.
Black Ops storyline is far better.
R.I.P Sandman, Frost, Grinch, Truck, Yuri and Soap.

Frost actually survived,he was placed with a diffrent team on a diffrent part of the mine, he was the one who accidentally detonated the self-destruction protocol but he survived, you can even play as him in the DLC mission "Black Ice"

I’m pretty sure he is either in prison or dead because this happened after the war had ended. While Makarov is still a national terrorist I don’t think that killing him would justify the fact that him and yuri killed innocent policemen and caused millions of dollars worth of
property damage. But yeah in short Price and Yuri committed an act of terrorism and like I said in the beginning price is either A: Imprisoned or B: Dead.

The worldwide knows Makarov as a national terrorist, after the events of Price killing Makarov, all of the innocent policemen and the damage that Price and Yuri caused can be a collateral damage. They've only committed the Act Of Terrorism when General Shepherd betrayed them and when they killed General Shepherd. Capturing Makarov dead or alive can be a top priority mission of every military unit at all cost. Maybe Price can be court martialed or really imprisoned because him and Soap killed General Shepherd and that is the time they committed the Act Of Terrorism and that was againts not just in the military law but to the US Government. But like what I said in the beginning too that before Price proceeds to kill Makarov, they were reinstated.

But no, Price fucking jumps into his throat, beats the living shitlight out of him, choking him and all you hear and see is Makarov moaning and breathing in pain and fear and desperately trying to get off of Prices hands. And then it ends up Price banging his head into glass, and that ends with Makarov being hanged from the roof.

Looking back at it, MW3 was indeed perfect. The reboot is everything that one must not do to finish a trilogy.

When I got to this part, I felt so empowered to do this. This man has killed many with his actions and escaped justice many times. He caused the death of innocent lives and threatened many more. And he's not even real.
That how I almost broke my controller trying to kill a man faster.
My only complaints was we couldn't kill the bastard slower.
It was one part satisfying and 3 parts bittersweet.
Makarov was strangled and it was clear the death was not INSTANTANEOUS. He hung and choked long enough before his neck finally broke. The bittersweet is the 'Now What?' that the moment presents. Especially as it took heroes spilling their blood and countless innocent lives just to get this point...

Personally I think this is the best ending of cod and my favourite ending in gaming,the feeling price got that it was over the pain and suffering he endeared he had lost so many men at the hands of Makarov getting hunted like a rat by Makarov and finally price is the one who knocks he is the one to win,the rage he got when Makarov took away the last person in his life (part from Nikolai) he had lost it and went full first to him and used all of this energy to finish what Makarov started

I think that the single upside from modern warfare three’s ending is that the next cod could actually deliver on what this one promised. If we combined the whole attack on America and Europe with the full squad hunting Makarov, it could create some really interesting moments. Plus, those large-scale battles would lend themselves to open world very well. They could even keep this ending, where each member sacrifices themself one at a time, finally end in with Ghost as Price finishes Makarov. Heck, Ghost could even survive and escape with price.

Now that the MW3 remake lore revealed in Makarov’s bio that his father died of hanging, and Makarov witnessed it when he was a child, his own death in the same fashion hits a bit harder. Symbolic. Makarov’s bio states that he swore to not repeat his father’s mistakes.

I will say this again, THIS GAME DESERVES A REMAKE, full and a grandeur scale. This mission should be with at least more Juggernauts, armored vehicle and a bigger battle with some tactical accuracy for realism.

Mw3 was easily the best game out of the trilogy the campaign was awesome the multiplayer was awesome and the music used in it really got you hyped

action packed missions, emotional moments, unforgettable scenes, amazing soundtracks... all in one trilogy. that was world class. now all we get is not even the bare minimum; there's just no effort period. what a damn shame.

In Modern Warfare, you play Captain Price as a flashback in 1996 however he was silent.
This is the Modern Warfare trilogy that stands out of my heart. Much I respect the reboot, I like the OG Captain Price this is the only Modern Warfare game you play as him.

Given amount of enemies there were at the hotel, can you really blame Yuri and Price for fully gearing up? If I recall at this point in the story, they don’t have international backing for more people to go and get Makarov.
@@arjusarauis9901 I mean that's actually a bomb suit. There is no real life juggernaut. Also those suits could have easily killed both of them due to heat exhaustion
@@ThatGuy68580Incorrect, that is not an EOD suit. The suit they wore were fictional equipment. None of their armor looked to be like the actual padded kevlar.

so strange to me how the newest MW3 had such an atrocious story while this game dealt with similar time crunches in 2011. Still one of my favorite missions in the entire series.

Can we just talk about the fact that fps characters could just kill hordes of enemies despite just being 1 or 2, like that is impressive.
I remember i was 14 playing this on my cousins xbox 360 it took me 4 hours to beat the campaign but i enjoyed every second of it
