Rewatching this again... Gotta admit, as a German the censored German version of the game really sucks. Being able to understand both languages in the game, German and English, makes it so much better because the voice actors used in the English version are very well chosen. I never played any of the Wolfenstein games, but I see I clearly missed out. This scene in particular was absolutely artful. The script, the acting, the design- masterful. You really get a feeling for how an old Hitler might actually look and sound like. As a Philip K Dick fan, I really think that this is just fantastic.

Idk whats the problem with that. Dutch-english also has a very heavy accent you can easily recognize And idk about your Region but I am from northern germany where we have "Plattdeutsch" which is very similar to dutch so no big language barrier. There are also more students choosing dutch as a second foreign language. I also encountered dutch that demand a german to speak dutch fluently so it evens itself out.

Then Hitler pulled out a bucket and pissed in it in front of us, though most of the urine missed the bucket and went on the rug. He then vomited all over the floor and took a nap on the ground afterwards.

I like how throughout all of the scenes the character we play as never once congratulates Hitler in any way, when they all stand to salute him when he walks in he never gets up. And when he talks about how hard he worked on his art and they all clap, he never does. Just a nice little detail.

@@John8coming Basically in order to successfully go undercover for an infiltration mission, Blaskowicz needs to take the place of an actor auditioning for a movie about Blaskowicz himself, as the Nazis believe he's dead and are making the movie to celebrate their victory and to mock his memory. Hitler himself has a personal interest in the production so he's present for the auditions, but his age and delusions have left him a half-mad wreck of a man.
This is unironically one of the greatest videos I've ever seen. From start to finish this is a masterpiece. Not only is it incredibly hilarious start to finish, with Hitler being delusional and disgusting, to the dialogue of the film being read by Billy and the guy who gets shot for wussing out after a nosebleed, but it's lore is also very developed and accurate. I can genuinely imagine Hitler being this sickly and paranoid if he had survived World War 2. When Hitler vomits and when he straight up shoots the guy as he walks out of the glass room I lost it

8:21 I love this scene, the closeup. The unstable psycho walks up and puts a gun in protagonist face. By all means Hitler should be seen as a person in power in this moment but the way the camera zoomed in along with the low sound getting louder, it let us feel the intimidation radiating not from Hitler but from Blazkowicz himself. Hitlers hand casually lands on Blazkowicz shoulder and we feel he is about to get his limb torn out. We can also see the contrast between shaky movements of Hitler and stillnes of full in control Blazkowicz which only underlines the gap between these two. Its almost as seeing a person who puts his hand in tigers cage.

This is hands down one of the most intense, and simultaneously hilarious scenes in anything ever. Such a cool part of the game. The first time I played through it, I was so immersed by just the whole story, it was more intense, than anything...but coming back to it has me dying laughing, every time.

He's a monster, certainly, the fact that he claps at the sight of his own soldiers dying as if WJB was playing some performance shows that, but he's still a man. A mortal man with a mortal heart and a mortal body. How can people die for this man? Why would anyone look at him and show any semblance of loyalty to this raving, decrepit lunatic?

The way they portrayed hitler in this game is both fascinating and horrifying His shuddering, staggering movements make him look almost like a zombie, like his body is ‘rotting’ as much as his mind is Pretty unsettling if you ask me
Literally, one of the greatest scenes in Gaming history. No doubt the wolfenstein series is immaculate when it comes to capturing human emotions and human tendencies/movements if anyone was put into a situation like this, even with the bland realistic video game style. The voice acting too, god, they got good Impressionists. 10:44 I also like the subtle detail of Helene carefully avoiding that vomit, they captured it really good it impressed me for some reason.

Rewatching this again... Gotta admit, as a German the censored German version of the game really sucks. Being able to understand both languages in the game, German and English, makes it so much better because the voice actors used in the English version are very well chosen. This scene nails it perfectly!

I never played any of the Wolfenstein games, but I see I clearly missed out. This scene in particular was absolutely artful. The script, the acting, the design- masterful. You really get a feeling for how an old Hitler might actually look and sound like. As a Philip K Dick fan, I really think that this is just fantastic.

@Buck Fitches New Order abandoned alternate 40s too quickly, and I didn't really like, how they switched supernatural plot elements in favor of Da'at Yichud and their out of place dwemer contraptions. So after that the Old Blood felt just right.

I felt bad for the actor guys and the guards cuz they didn't do nothing wrong.
I like how throughout all of the scenes the character we play as never once congratulates Hitler in any way, when they all stand to salute him when he walks in he never gets up. And when he talks about how hard he worked on his art and they all clap, he never does. Just a nice little detail.

This is unironically one of the greatest videos I've ever seen. From start to finish this is a masterpiece. Not only is it incredibly hilarious start to finish, with Hitler being delusional and disgusting, to the dialogue of the film being read by Billy and the guy who gets shot for wussing out after a nosebleed, but it's lore is also very developed and accurate. I can genuinely imagine Hitler being this sickly and paranoid if he had survived World War 2. When Hitler vomits and when he straight up shoots the guy as he walks out of the glass room I lost it

By all means Hitler should be seen as a person in power in this moment but the way the camera zoomed in along with the low sound getting louder, it let us feel the intimidation radiating not from Hitler but from Blazkowicz himself. Hitlers hand casually lands on Blazkowicz shoulder and we feel he is about to get his limb torn out. We can also see the contrast between shaky movements of Hitler and stillnes of full in control Blazkowicz which only underlines the gap between these two.
