According to IGN, WB claims that they are letting Rocksteady finish Year 1 (up to Season 4) of SSKTJL, as most of it is already completed. They declined to comment on the future of the game or the studio past that point
Interesting, so I assume that would take them to the end of the year.
It’s a very unfortunate situation, since the people who deserve to take the heat are never actually held accountable. Whoever greenlit the game being live service is the one who should take the hit, but what’s most likely is massive layoffs for people who aren’t responsible for the train wreck the game turned out to be. In some cases, they’d be laying off the people who were actually passionate about the franchise, and keeping the people who couldn’t care less.
The people who greenlit it already left. But they were also responsible for the good Arkham games 🤷♀️ so now the ones who are left are kinda screwed.
I’d love to see a remaster of Batman Arkham Origins. It looks like a fantastic game but I don’t think it’s ever going to happen as much as I want it to. I hope Rocksteady can surprise us and release Arkham Origins Remaster and Arkham Origins 2. I’d love to see a Superman game that is on the level of Batman Arkham City or Batman Arkham Knight. I’m willing to ignore Suicide Squad entirely if they go back to their roots. I hope Rocksteady can redeem themselves because it’s sad to see what has become of them.
Honestly, I agree. For me, it has the best story of any Arkham game. It could honestly be seen as the best Arkham game if it looked better.
It sucks since there are a lot of talented people who work at Rocksteady. I do think if they released a successful game like a new Batman game they might be able to still around but that will depend on what Zaslav thinks.
10:51 I called completely & heartily agree with you that they should do a remastered of Batman Arkham Origins with an additional new DLC story after the dlc story Cold Cold Heart. Possibly introducing poison ivy to a younger Dark Knight during their first encounter.
And I'm going to say, just for argument's sake, that if the VR game Batman Arkham Shadows does financially well this could lead up to a possible Origins 2 for the current gen councils.
Suicide squad ktjl might be the worst story of all time. Of all the stories since the dawn of storytelling. Even the sequels, the rings of power and avatar the last airbender movie were more passable than this.
I mean, I didn’t play it (aside from the closed alpha test) nor watch the whole story so I mainly saw it in parts from various reviews and stuff… but nah. There are worse stories out there. Episode 8 disappointed and pissed me off way more. But then again, I was kinda hyped for it. I knew this would suck from the moment they said live-service. So it wasn’t nearly as disappointing to me, because I never got hyped. 🤷♀️
Rumours are going round that Rocksteady are working on Hogwarts Legacy, not sure if it’s a DLC for it or a sequel
I think rocksteady shouldn’t make anymore dc games give other creators the chance to make dc games and maybe not as much batman games I really want a superman and a flash game
If the original devs were at Rocksteady still I think they could have handled a Superman or Flash game. Unfortunately now I don't know if I'd trust them. I don't know any other studio who would be interested in doing those games at the moment.

I’d say Rocksteady deserves another chance… but aren’t basically all the good devs who made the good Arkham games gone? Everyone left seems like a drone who would just follow orders. 🤷♀️
If anyone was left with drive and passion, and a decent vision… then let them do a game they want to do. Maybe it’ll be good.
Then again, Xbox just closed 2 studios that made SUCCESSFUL games? So if you make a crap game that bombs hard… why wouldn’t you get shut down?
Though tbh, I swear I could run DC/WB games better. And supposedly James Gunn is supposed to be doing so now… so… I don’t see why they wouldn’t get to try another game.
Tbf, Xbox also closed down Arkane (Austin?) who did Redfall… but also did some really good games… so they should’ve got another chance, too, imo.
With Gotham Knights… THAT should’ve been the Arkham sequel. But it wasn’t. And that’s the biggest reason nobody wanted it, imo. I mean, the live-service stuff they kinda crammed in (and seemingly pulled back on after Avengers flopped) sure didn’t help. But I’m saying if it was designed as a PROPER Arkham sequel… it would’ve been cool. I mean, imagine co-op Predator challenges! Or combat. Probably should’ve been 2-player, though.

Let's see, 3 movies made to make Harley Quinn a major draw. All of them fail due to various problems. Let's make a game with her in the lead! Wow. All three films lost moment. That is monumentally stupid. Zaslav is clueless. The Suicide Squad was never a big draw in the world of comics. Zaslav sees live service and is attracted by greed like a drug addict wanting an immediate hit. Look at the design of Gotham Knights. Guns and a template that can use any character as a drop in. That's a badly designed game. They might as well purchased Saint's Row and put in the Suicide Squad as characters. It's basically what they did.
