I'm beginning to think the live service curse is somewhat of a "brain rot" the big suits of the companies have when they see all the successful ones out there, thinking it's easy money and people will eat up anything. It's clearly not the case and even in a different category of live service like Gacha games where you have set "rules" about them being completely free at base, battle passes with resources, unfair "gem packs" and whatnot you still have so many failed games that completely miss the mark because they think it's an easy feat to make such a game because "others are successful". It's so sad when the employees aren't even in the know about what they'll be working on, too... All about greed, huh...
What do the "big suits" have to do with anything. Which part didn't you grasp about it was ROCKSTEADY leadership were the ones who wanted to make a live service game. Its been known for quite some time that the studio founders are the ones who wanted to make Suicide Squad a live service game.
@lutherheggs451 rocksteady leadership are still one of the big suits, as they were also attracted to the idea of live service. And like the others, they failed to see how other live services succeeded.

Tbf, lots of big corpo (Sega, Square Enix, etc) already shelved their live service games systemetically. They know it wont last long. Those who still doing it today likely only after quick bucks and/or to please shareholders
It's getting extremely difficult to NOT be cynical about these particular types of live-service games from day zero, especially when there's so many examples to point towards, where the exact same problems are showing up (management, for just one of many).
Honestly concord look fine but it’s not doing anything unique enough to go past the surface level “overwatch clone”. If it had a filly fleshed out campaign maybe people would of would of been happier
I mean, try to name a good live-service especially shooter type, besides Helldivers in like the last 5-10 years. You can probably find 1 or 2 that are roughly 10 years old. Also, if you look at completely different things like Smite which I often don't even think of as live-service, though it is... you can find a few more. But look at those ones that ARE good. Often not shooters, often no lootboxes or are free with cosmetic-only lootboxes. (Smite) I guess there's also Warframe but anyway... quite rare. Now, if we define "good" as simply successful... then there's Fortnite and Apex and stuff... but eh. Not really what I mean. And look at the monetization again, of something like Helldivers vs Fortnite. But the reason we keep getting the bs we are getting... is Fortnite apparently made over $20 BILLION since it's relaunch. And EVERY other studio would probably be happy with even an extra $5 billion. Well, "happy." They're never satisfied just making money. They ALWAYS need to make MORE. But, like... if they can START with an extra $5b, that's good.
Its so confusing that the Execs want a Destiny like looter shooter but also admit to not having any experience with those kind of games and ask dev's who also don't have experience making those games to just...make it work?
Game studios are so desperate for that constant revenue stream and its so obvious and they will not let it go. They want an always online game, any game, so they can slap an online store front on it start selling microtransactions and watch the cash pour in........It rarely ever works out in their favor but dammit if they dont keep trying.
“The line must go up” it’s the reason why everything is falling apart. If people could just be content with what they had or just strive to make a little more than enough we’d better off. But a 10% gain isn’t enough to the ghouls on wall street.
What stuck out to me was the term “toxic positivity.” That’s almost an exact echo of earlier Schrier articles about the troubles at BioWare. He reported how leadership at BioWare would brush aside looming troubles in development with the misplaced confidence that “BioWare magic” would make everything somehow come together. And of course that also happened at CDPR, as you mentioned. Executives burying their heads in the sand is a recurring theme in these types of debacles, it seems.
Reminds me of David Gaider talking about the vague resentment toward writers for games and such and kept pushing for less writing while being suprised it didn"t work out. I feel like bad leadership/management are consistant on not understanding what work goes into their products and wanting to cut corners in the wrong places. Yet expecting quality to be good.
5:20 Reminds me of Anthem, where leadership straight up forbade any discussion of or reference to Destiny, which would've been the game's chief competition.
That goes to The Avengers for me. Big license, great format already (Marvel Ultimate Alliance) HUGE fan base. Focused on squeezing every penny out of the fans rather than making a worthwhile game.
@jrrr9219 The weirdest part about Babylon Fall is that the first two trailers showed such promise. But after they revealed it to be live service, the curtain was pulled to reveal such an ugly painting.
I mean, really BioWare magic with Anthem. Bethesda magic seems to mostly work. Idk how they keep turning out the crap they do and everyone happily gobbles it up. I don't think F4llout was very good. Most seemed to skip 76 but we still got Starfield doing reasonably well. Honestly, I think the best thing about Skyrim was the dragons. Other than that, it's mostly worse than Oblivion in every way. Everyone bought 11 copies. Everyone's gonna buy their next thing despite them STILL not using a new engine, probably... still having all the same flaws and everything... regardless of how good it is... like just everyone will buy TES 6 / "Skyrim 2" and Fallout 5.
@@Paradox-es3bl Starfield did reasonably well but it still confirmed what most people thought after Fallout 76, Bethesda has lost it. Starfield is boring, repetitive, the story is garbage and the gameplay average and stale. It's also dead with more people already back playing Skyrim because modders CAN'T change anything because of the way it's been coded, so even if they finally bothered putting the Creation kit out, modders won't save the game from itself. Maybe nobody learned anything, but i doubt it. People are starting to feel the inflation and the Bidenomics effect... they don't have the amount of free money laying around they once did and with the price of game going up... It's not looking well for Bethesda giving their reputation is pretty much screwed, they haven't made anything good in over 10 years.

Toxic Positivity is a very real thing, and it's not just permeating game studios. It's everywhere. I cringe everytime I hear, "You got dis!!!". That's NOT how life, nor persevering over adversity works. It's almost like dev managers get their leadership skills from Star Trek Discovery, yet we know that's not true because nobody watches that terrible show.

Everyone always wants to blame the big bad publisher but every story we get like this it almost always is the devs/leadership who wanted all the stupid things in the game
You know how a lot of interviewers will ask you, Do you have any questions for us?" Potential game devs are going to have to start asking, "Will I be working on a single-player game?" and have it be IN THEIR CONTRACT that they WILL be. Edit: You mentioning the "Don't worry about it, It'll coalesce in the end." and CDPR with 2077 heavily reminds me of "BioWare magic" and what they thought would happen I believe with Anthem and maybe even ME: Andromeda? Arguably happened with other stuff, too. (with BioWare and other studios)
Live service games aren't the problem, studio leadership making promises to Stakeholders they can't keep without consulting their actual team. I see this shit happen all the time in the shipbuilding industry.
It's weird that Hill would know nothing of live service games and yet want to make one. I know the reporting has always been that this was Rocksteady's idea all along, but i wonder how incentivized they were. Not to compare retail to games development, but i know as a manager ive been pressured by corporate to push items that i knew weren't going to sell in our area. They don't come out and say "you should do this". They say "we thunk this has a great chance to be a big product, why don't you give it a try" and if you push back, they'll mention that meeting sales goals is an important factor in determining how manybhourscare budgeted (the implication being they'll cut hours for the department and short staff us, setting us uo to fail so they could replace managers). TLDR: just because it was Rocksteady's idea doesn't mean WB (who we know pushed live service ideas hard on other games) didn't imply that live service looter shooter was a better idea than puzzle game or live service brawler.
I feel like rocksteady and Warner Brothers Montreal. We’re both accidentally sent the same email about what game they should make next. A multiplayer game in the Batman universe. And then nobody checked on when they were actually doing for the next four years, and by then it was too late to course correct. Then they have two really shitty co-op multiplayer games that were both massive disappointment.

it's truly sad to learn that most of these games that seem somewhat promising end up being a disappointment, mostly due to miscommunication from upper management. I initially was excited for Redfall since I had loved both of the Dishonored games, before learning about all of the problems for it
Luke’s “lean on the bed like that” move while talking to use is definitely a “I have to shit badly, but need to get this thought out on video” position
I like the low key flex of walking around this massive hotelroom/rental apartment. Luke has got to some cheddar when he can afford this kind accommodation for a week of work in LA 👌
As somebody who's been through the hiring process at a few studios, that's just how it happens sometimes. My first job didn't tell me what I was working on until my first day. Turned out to be a Black Eyed Peas dance game 😂 The studio I currently work at had me sign an NDA during the interview process so they could talk about their unannounced project. So idk why other places don't do that.
So people said that the leaders leaving were the reaosn why the game came out when in reality they didnt even play competitor games to know how to adjust their game? They were part of the problem as well.

Okay... But who are Jason Schreier's sources for this article if not Rocksteady employees; it would be within their best interest to try and shift blame to Sefton Hill and Jamie Walker and everything else that they said in this article. I'm just saying: Jason Schreier has certainly given us further insight into the behind the scenes of Rocksteady and I don't doubt that this is what he was told; that doesn't make it completely free of embellishment or even bias; we've heard accounts from anonymous and desperate people. I'm just saying this should still be taken with some degree of skepticism.
No matter how it's cut, it was just a bad idea from the start but they wanted their live service cash cow. Superheroes and Supervillains are all so different, putting them all together in a multiplayer is insane - unless you literally have a beat em up. The execs had no clue. Pretty similar to the "leaders" over at Disney lol If they'd have just made an exploration single player game - one where you played mainly as Harley and built your team up, then towards the end had missions playing as the squad YOU made. Metroidvania style things only certain characters could do/access. Could all lead to a heist to break Joker out of prison...I dunno. But it'd require an actual story and effort, not just stats and menus.
Dont ever talk shit about my game 😾 ive bought this game and it is a good one I have a few games to sell but it was really fun and the gameplay is great I think it is a lot more complex and the gameplay really adds to it I would love it if I can play more of the same style as you guys are very nice people I love it I think I will try to play more games.
It's not just Redfall it was Anthem before that. Even to the point of "it will all work out in the end, it's the Bioware magic" narrative. History doesn't repeat, but it sure rhymes
Here’s a huge issue I had and I think many others had This was Kevin Conroy’s last run as The Batman The 4 Arkham games were all really really good and his passing really hurt millions over the planet When we learned we got one more run with him I think we all thought the trailer was gonna be where we got to play as the Bat one more time One more run with Kevin as the final stamp in his legacy And it wasn’t a game about the bat at all It wasn’t Arkham It wasn’t what so many fell in love with And instead of being an amazing hurrah for Kevin; it was a blemish A disappointment; and a letdown to know that this is what they did to a character I KNOW is so many people’s top 10 Rocksteady fucked this one up man
They literally sat with the legacy of the games they made, the legacy of the comics and decided on THIS. Like they had ample source material to get inspiration from and they knew how the audience felt. And a group of adults thought this was the way to go.
You know what I think happen.. Someone came in and said we can do better then two old straight white men.. They said sure and left when they had a chance.. There is a huge rainbow logo on their X page. Just saying.
I imagine suicide squad could have been a great pvpve game. Multiple teams of suicide squad members compete in finding the Justice League member on the map and fight it, while also fighting each other - would have a dark tone similar to the opening of the better suicide squad movie, which indeed sacrifices the first squad.
I have a friend who works at a game company, and he's a very hard worker, but unfortunately, he doesn't have time to play games because he has too much to do at work, and neither do the other employees. They don't have time to play games, keep up with trends, and be inspired.
If they wanted a live service should have been a Gotham knights kinda Arkham game where you could play as the bat fam and they just added new missions every month with the arkham combat system and team take downs could have actually been cool
To be fair Cyberpunk always was a good game, yes it had massive technical issues and was in a very bad state at launch, but besides the technical problem it was always a great game, with a great world and great storys. Sushi Squad was never a good game.
There's an easy answer here: 1. Bloated budget. 2. "Live Service" Overwatch wannabe (translated: corporate greed). 3. Disrespecting the character designs from previous iterations of the franchise.
It's kind of sad because in the case of both Suicide Squad and Redfall, there's good game ideas underneath the half-baked live service elements that were forced on them by upper managment.
Finally someone that gets what’s actually happening. I’ve seen so many TH-camrs that disregard so much information and say Rocksteady is going under or they are dead. First off they are in talks about halving the studio or closure, doesn’t mean they will. Second, Jamie walker and Sefton hill made most of the problems with suicide squad and bailed, and lastly rocksteady is going to pitch a new single player game (hopefully the pitch goes well). Thanks Luke for putting that all together and not leaving out information for clicks like certain TH-camrs. (If I missed anything let me know and I can update the comment.

Seems like WB is at the center of a lot of this (obviously). They pushed CDPR to release 2077 earlier than they thought was right to please shareholders, and tried to morph Rocksteady into a dev team they quite frankly never really were. Greed is what is tanking WB and so my sympathy just goes to the people forced to work on these games, all the while knowing the people who actually will play it are going to hate it. Tough times in gaming as usual
They in the end put together a product thru what sounded like turmoil.. im sure that’s a lot of companies ..the product actually ain’t bad could of been lil more creative with aspects of the playable characters (melee, maybe put a full first person views) ..but in the season they need put random events like bosses not that hit man squad a more feared enemy…it’s them not putting these extras that makes the game fail
Regardless of who pitched this game, either WB or Rocksteady, WB is the one that double down on live service games even after seeing the aftermath of both Suicide Squad and Hogwarts Legacy. I wouldn't be surprised if WB 'asked' Monolith to put some pay to win stuff on Wonder Woman
We might need a different, or maybe just consistent, new terminology for 'live service' and BAD live service practices. I'm seeing a trend of game being connected constantly to the internet being inherently bad or a game featuring online multiplayer being bad. I understand why this game was a disappointing diversion from what they've done before, but I feel like we are jumping the gun on all games coming out that are competitive or connected experiences and labelling them LIVE SERVICE and that AUTOMATICALLY SUCKS. I'm saying that as someone who doesn't play many multiplayer games, but just feels like we need to reign ourselves in just a bit about the subject. I'm all for not accepting predatory practices from these publishers, but let's ground the conversation going forward a bit maybe
People are saying they could have told WB no. Like,,, No? WB probably wouldn't have given them funding for anything since we know WB is *really* pushing live service games. So they "chose" to say yes Otherwise, they probably would have ended up like Studio Tango and Microsoft

But, like... if they can START with an extra $5b, that's good.
not harsh, a half cooked overwatch clone in 2024 is never going to do well
concord may be the most spectacular fail yet.
Its so confusing that the Execs want a Destiny like looter shooter but also admit to not having any experience with those kind of games and ask dev's who also don't have experience making those games to just...make it work?
They probably thought, "Single-player? Live-service? What's the difference? They're both video games! Just make it work!" lol
It was also reported that talking about or referencing Destiny was forbidden at Biowas.
5:20 Reminds me of Anthem, where leadership straight up forbade any discussion of or reference to Destiny, which would've been the game's chief competition.
prob because there was nothing they could do to compete with the timeframe of develpoment they had... game needed to be 5 times bigger...
Anthem at least was more playable, despite the setbacks
This might be the worst live service fumble I have ever seen no wonder they are given up on this game soon.
I mean the actual devs didn't want to make it in the first place. If there is no interest then there can't be any passion
That goes to The Avengers for me. Big license, great format already (Marvel Ultimate Alliance) HUGE fan base. Focused on squeezing every penny out of the fans rather than making a worthwhile game.
Babylon's Fall and Anthem say hi. Lol
@jrrr9219 The weirdest part about Babylon Fall is that the first two trailers showed such promise. But after they revealed it to be live service, the curtain was pulled to reveal such an ugly painting.
Babylons Fall wants to say hello, but nobody played that game at all really.
Jamie and Sefton are cowards
The smear campaign against a legendary studio continues.
I wonder what consulting company is known for that..😡
Misinformation comment for a channel that loves to mislead people.
They were depending on that BioWare magic to come through at the end 😂
“We made The Witcher 3. It’ll be fine, it’ll all come together in the end.”
Flashback to _Bethesda Magic TM._
16x the disappointment
I mean in the case of CDPR it did come together in the end
@@Nyles_FScorrect and I honestly enjoy cyberpunk but they spent years fixing the game instead of adding to it. We won’t get the multiplayer and other expansion that were promised
The fact that the directors leaving wasn’t due to them not agreeing with the vision of the game, and that they were actually responsible for the shit show is VERY interesting. Didn’t see that coming 😂
Naw we knew this before it came out.
@@NiceDiggz everybody just assumed because they wanted a scapegoat tbh.

Yea, not even sure why we need someone to “uncover” what was pretty clear from the very very start. Only people who thought it would be more were fanboys to the previous work.
@@Trace153 because people who didn't play the game want to Iearn what happened, your comment is like saying we don't need the word "happy" to be in the dictionary since everyone knows what it means.

Look on the bright side. Their failure is a win for those against Live Service. Now that the branding is so tainted even if it is good it won't be discovered. The only thing we can hope for is the people investing in this are listening and put a stop to it.
What went wrong is that the game got greenlit in the first place.
Answer is.
Everything.
Poor leadership is usually how this games fall apart mixed in with really stupid suits that think they can just throw money at a studio. But just look at almost all the live service flops you’ll see poor leadership be it BioWare, arkane Austin, Sqaure Enix Ffxiv 1.0, and now rocksteady
dc right now they need good leadership someone like Bruce Timm and James Gunn someone like those guys should be in charge in their gaming devision
I worked for a few weeks in such a place. Couldn't handle more. I am a smiling happy person that jokes all the time but forced positivity was just so cringe i wanted to shoot myself in the face.
I remember them actually asking as in demanding ways to give high five and smile at each other and praise each other etc. It was just a horrible comedic act that made me feel like i wanted to put myself on fire.
You can't force people to be positive, we aren't robots.
Everyone always wants to blame the big bad publisher but every story we get like this it almost always is the devs/leadership who wanted all the stupid things in the game
I always think it's a blend of both. Somebody could have done better at some point but they didn't.
That hotel could use a little more white
Not enough white. 8/10.
If Luke was wearing white, he'd become a floating head.
you have become one of my fav gaming news guy always level headed and mostly clear of bias keep up the good work
Laying in bed with Luke. Not how I thought I would spend my morning.
This "random poses in a hotel" format is much better.
Joking.
You have a point. That shot of Luke lying on his stomach like a 15 year old girl at a slumber party amuses me.
Also not being familiar with the competition.
Live service games aren't the problem, studio leadership making promises to Stakeholders they can't keep without consulting their actual team. I see this shit happen all the time in the shipbuilding industry.
Bad management, you can almost tell the disaster that is gonna come when you have leadership like that come in.
Kojima: ask his team for ideas and input, only to figure out how it works together.
This: I know better than the grunt developer
It's like that meme:
"No, it's the teams that were wrong."
And they chose the wrong one to be the Arkham Knight sequel...
@@Paradox-es3bl definitely. Gotham knights would’ve benefited so much more from being connected to Arkham. While suicide squad gained nothing .
@@shoff29 Gotham Knights would be the best superhero title out today if it was made as an Arkham Sequel using the Arkham engine and gameplay (even with co op). it also ironically works better canonically within Arkham with minor story changes. that decision from WB is not only questionable, but kind of scary in the sense they didn’t see the gold mine they were sitting on.
@@whosDaBunIt's crazy that a group of people missed the gold nugget they had. I like to think that maybe a lower dev or someone said something but was dismissed.
@@Ashbrash1998 i’m not entirely surprised because Rocksteady isn’t exactly know for listening or paying attention to their community very much. a lot of people seem to forget the excuse they gave for not letting free roam with all characters in Knight, and then doubling down on it after literally asking the community what things they would like to see added before support ended. it was the number 1 most requested feature and was left out simply due to laziness, and the excuse they gave of “it would be too difficult to traverse around the map without the batmobile” was just cringe and kinda of said a lot. A LOT of people seem to have forgotten about that.
luke is always working even on the road we love to see it!
By golly, it's wonderful to see another video by Luke on this game.
"Bioware Magic" comes to mind
Yeah, the pill that we as gamers need to swallow is that ROCKSTEADY made suicide squad. They weren’t overtaken by the tendrils of sweet baby inc or whatever excuse we’ve been making. Sefton Hill wrote suicide squad. It is what it is.
Sefton was in the wrong for doing rocksteady like that but i feel this game was a way to get back at wb for nixxing his batman beyond game
Same thing is happening to BEND studios, they tried to fight to make a sequel to “Days gone” but the Sony executives pushed for them to make another live service game with no soul.
The Skyrim OST can complement ANYthing
I thought that’s what I was hearing. 😂
it's truly sad to learn that most of these games that seem somewhat promising end up being a disappointment, mostly due to miscommunication from upper management. I initially was excited for Redfall since I had loved both of the Dishonored games, before learning about all of the problems for it
Luke’s “lean on the bed like that” move while talking to use is definitely a “I have to shit badly, but need to get this thought out on video” position
Your changing of positions while filming yourself oddly reminds me of the "we're sorry" ad from this south park episode xd
It works! 😁
Haha! I knew him posing was reminding me of something.
So we should be skeptical about whatever the team leads new studio is planning
We’ve been spoiled by great audio quality
Toxic Positivity, finally, someone says it. It's a just a glimpse into the attitude that squanders potential.
Skyrim soundtrack playing in the background, NICE! Really brings out the mystery of SS's jumbled release.
I like the low key flex of walking around this massive hotelroom/rental apartment. Luke has got to some cheddar when he can afford this kind accommodation for a week of work in LA 👌
Thanks for the showcase of how valuable a good microphone is.
As somebody who's been through the hiring process at a few studios, that's just how it happens sometimes. My first job didn't tell me what I was working on until my first day. Turned out to be a Black Eyed Peas dance game 😂
The studio I currently work at had me sign an NDA during the interview process so they could talk about their unannounced project. So idk why other places don't do that.
So people said that the leaders leaving were the reaosn why the game came out when in reality they didnt even play competitor games to know how to adjust their game? They were part of the problem as well.
Damn, i am early 😂 i was never interested in playing this game BUT, Luke, I just live your videos, watching you for almost 2 years now and i love your commentary and criticism. Of course the critiques as well 🤩 its soothing, intreating and i get to sleep well at night when listening to the Valhalla critique 😌 Have a good time at the game fest! - from your Swedish fan , Malin.
I agree for sure
This does not have anything to do with SSKTJL but, love your haircut.
we just not gonna talk about the countless location changes, i died laughing everytime
I love how you and asmon use Skyrim music for ambience lol
No matter how it's cut, it was just a bad idea from the start but they wanted their live service cash cow.
Superheroes and Supervillains are all so different, putting them all together in a multiplayer is insane - unless you literally have a beat em up.
The execs had no clue. Pretty similar to the "leaders" over at Disney lol
If they'd have just made an exploration single player game - one where you played mainly as Harley and built your team up, then towards the end had missions playing as the squad YOU made. Metroidvania style things only certain characters could do/access. Could all lead to a heist to break Joker out of prison...I dunno.
But it'd require an actual story and effort, not just stats and menus.
The people defending this game got real mf quiet🤷♂️
They sure did huh?
how ?
Dont ever talk shit about my game 😾 ive bought this game and it is a good one I have a few games to sell but it was really fun and the gameplay is great I think it is a lot more complex and the gameplay really adds to it I would love it if I can play more of the same style as you guys are very nice people I love it I think I will try to play more games.
I'm scared to check the games's subreddit .
This dude really put skyrim music as back ground music 🤣🤣 I love this guy
this video is shot like it's from the POV of Luke's cat that he's explaining industry news to
lol i can’t unsee this now 😂
It's not just Redfall it was Anthem before that. Even to the point of "it will all work out in the end, it's the Bioware magic" narrative. History doesn't repeat, but it sure rhymes
History repeats itself. Those who fail to learn from it are doomed to repeat it
how they treated the characters and some aethetic choices didnt help either
Here’s a huge issue I had and I think many others had
This was Kevin Conroy’s last run as The Batman
The 4 Arkham games were all really really good and his passing really hurt millions over the planet
When we learned we got one more run with him I think we all thought the trailer was gonna be where we got to play as the Bat one more time
One more run with Kevin as the final stamp in his legacy
And it wasn’t a game about the bat at all
It wasn’t Arkham
It wasn’t what so many fell in love with
And instead of being an amazing hurrah for Kevin; it was a blemish
A disappointment; and a letdown to know that this is what they did to a character I KNOW is so many people’s top 10
Rocksteady fucked this one up man
They literally sat with the legacy of the games they made, the legacy of the comics and decided on THIS.
Unless they're working 18 hours a day, they should make time for that. That's technically part of their job to know what's going on in the industry
@JJJBunney001 I agree, but I believe many game companies have the same issue like this. Which is bad thing.
If they wanted a live service should have been a Gotham knights kinda Arkham game where you could play as the bat fam and they just added new missions every month with the arkham combat system and team take downs could have actually been cool
Luke out in the wild! Nice change up.
To be fair Cyberpunk always was a good game, yes it had massive technical issues and was in a very bad state at launch, but besides the technical problem it was always a great game, with a great world and great storys. Sushi Squad was never a good game.
Yeah I will say that the story and other parts were really good. Since squad was a burning shop.
The chances of live service games being successful are incredibly low. The ones that are successful often come out of nowhere.
Take a shot every time Luke changes location.
(If I missed anything let me know and I can update the comment.
i have never seen a living space so devoid of color. honestly it feels haunting. show a brown or blue wall or something this place would drain my soul.
If I was told to make a goddamn live service game I would ditch, start a new studio and take a majority of my team along too
It’s very simple look at the team photo of the Batman Arkham games vs the team photo of the suicide squad game. U can literally see the problem.
Bioware magic it was called at their company where things were suppose to come together at the end.
Zaslav has doubled down on the live service. So unless WB is sold I suspect they will try to make a live service Hogwarts game.
Paul Tassi, Forbes' Destiny journalist, would definitely see the live service flaws right from the gate. He lives in that realm.
The audio is so bad bad I almost clicked off before I heard your perfectly reasonable explanation as to why.
Hope you have a good time out there dude.
nice and subtle apartment flex there lol
imagine a single player game where you play as king shark rated M you rip people in half and there would be a dedicated button for biting so like man-eater but on land and bipedal
2:37 Filming this bent over on the bed is crazy 😂.
It sucks for the leaders that took over and devs that worked on it. Jamie and Sefton were paid enough to make their own company, and ditched everyone.

No mention of the bad story or the agenda pushing nonsense.
2x speed gang, here we go
Live Service games are as popular as NFT's.
People are saying they could have told WB no. Like,,, No? WB probably wouldn't have given them funding for anything since we know WB is *really* pushing live service games. So they "chose" to say yes
Otherwise, they probably would have ended up like Studio Tango and Microsoft

Do not Frankenstein a project it never works out well.
If you want to change the core of the project then it’s a bad project and bin it start again
Name of the Game: Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League
Me: I don't want to kill the Justice League!
The only thing going wrong with these games nowadays is the devs and publishers apparently knowing better what we want then us gamers…
What's messed up is the executives blame the devs when the stupid idea of a game doesn't work then they fire a bunch of ppl and mass layoffs ensue look at all the layoffs now I've never actually seen anything like this from the game industry.
Its so disappointing because there is some decent potential. The only character that actually kinda works is Deadshot.....because he is the only one that primarily uses guns! 😂
