Friendly Cabal units throughout the entire raid too, like a raid that is a massive war. We've never had that before. Imagine it. Like maybe even put fail conditions sort of like Phase one of reckoning, so you have to kill enemies quickly to progress... there's so much possibility there.
The devs said they're not doing anything like Forsaken again, and I think modeling a new planet for a raid falls under that category. Although, they made Europa, so maybe.

Again, this is terrific darkness lore. But reading about it will never not be a let down rather than playing it or seeing it in a cinematic of some sort.
The Cabal were able to block out the light of our Traveller and Ghosts. So I wonder if it would be able to block out the Darkness in a similar way. If the Cabal managed to find a way to do that, tribute to Xivû Arath would be cut off and the hive probably would last that long without the Darkness of war feeding there worms.
This channel brings so much nostalgia. I’ve been watching for 6 years. I remember when lore was so hard to learn and I think that’s why destiny 1 didn’t have as good of a story.

So I have a question about Chapter 5: New Gods. Savathûn says "Xivu Arath hear me, you are War, and I conjure you with War and Blood" right? The last time we heard language spefically like that was when Auryx conjured Savathûn with trickery and Xivu Arath with bloodshed after he killed them to gain thier power to destory the Amonite I beleive right? (Or was it the Ecumine? It was when he learned to Take and become Oryx no?) My question is this: We've heard next to nothing from Xivu Arath, then suddenly in Season of the Hunt, she shows up, not Warring, but Converting, Tricking...Seemingly working with or even for Savathûn. Was Xivu Arath dead? Is that why Savathûn sought out Nokris to learn Necromancy? To bring back Xivu Arath, binding this lesser god to her whim, and using her like blunt force trauma to damage our forces before she herself makes her big play? It's a long shot, but so so much doesn't add up between the last two seasons for me
There is something to your theory. Thing is, I dont remember when exactly, but at some point during Year 2 a bunch of Taken Hive Yellow Bars appeared, roaming around the Dreaming City, all wearing the suffix "son/daughter of Xivu Arath".

You see this lore is AMAZING but I'm just a little sad we don't get to see it in game like maybe a cutscene with torobatl in or maybe even getting to go torobatl itself I mean we don't even know what it looks like we got to see what Riis sort of looked like but yeah I'd love to see torobatl at some point
This thought just occured to me but I think the darnkess' drive to push every living thing towards death is going to be its downfall, because it's driving everything to The Traveler and the guardians and more or less we are gaining more allies faster than we are gaining new enemies, The Darkness is forging its own defeat through its actions, and I think thats also why The Traveler hasn't ran yet, because it realizes that too
I think one of the big reasons why the Traveler didn't run away during the collapse as it did all those times before was because it finally realized it couldn't keep doing that forever.

If the Cabal trued to retake Torobatl on their own they would definitely fail but I’m willing to bet the other reason Caiatl wanted to come to our system was to recruit the only beings that have successfully fought off the Hive and even killed their leaders
Crazy idea, after Lightfall we really with huge numbers of Cabal and Elixni, both groups gets a handful of their own guardians, new enemy factions and races announced for the expansion afterwards and going into the next saga of Destiny
I remember reading a theory back in D1, "the Cabal and Fallen were originally allys, we don't see it because they're not on the same planets at once." 'Originally' as in like it was the original plan to Destiny. I've noticed they're going back to a lot of the original D1 concepts but I never thought they'd do this one again. Only way that I can think of Cabal having a chance is if they can create, like they did for the Light, a distortion or shielding device against the Hive's magics. Maybe a trap that makes a soul incapable of returning to Ascended Realm after being killed in the physical? Never know what those Psions are capable of

I think Zavala will make a counter offer and with the guardians help will take back their homeworld. Imo, the vex still dwarf the taken/hive. Any enemy with time travel capabilities surpasses anything.
So, I am left wondering if Umun'arath was somehow allied to Xivu Arath well before the mess started. I The source of my speculation is the ending of her name. It could be, since she was worried about the Hive before the coup, she took the name as her first step down the road of damnation. I guess it could be a happy accident.

Also, Cabal technology has been shown to be capable of stripping away cosmic powers before. In conclusion, with the right tools, retaking Torobatl is difficult but not impossible.
And this why while Calus actions were flaw (mostly because they served more to satisfy his own self-image more the actual reform) going back to martial ways of old is also flawed.

I think that Xivu Arath is the one that deceived Umun'arath. Remember "Warfare is based on deception". The part "A gift for my favorite sister" I think is a line where Xivu Arath delivered Umun'arath to Savathûn so that Umun'arath could be Taken!
I think the next few weeks of the story will be telling if the Cabal will survive as a race in the Destiny universe. It sounds as if the new strike in the land tank is part of this challenge Zavala has made to her. If we win and become the deciding force of the conflict with the Cabal could we possibly looking at the combined Vanguard / Eliksni / Cabal force against the might of the Hive, Vex, Taken, and Darkness? I'm still not 100% sure the Vex will truly side with the Darkness unless the Sol Divisive can somehow rewrite them all to their side.
The fact that we get a mention of the god of war is insane to me, I love love love the hive lore and the fact that we get her mentioned made me a giddy school girl
So what if Caiatl wants to do a trade with us? Like her majesty’s forces assists us in pushing back both the Hive and Darkness and in turn we assist them to push Xivu Arath’s forces from the Cabal homeworld? On one hand, we get to fight along side the cabal on their planet against some relentless hordes of hive. On the other we also see the darkness infused planets we lost. At most the endgame would be facing off hive and taken on the war moon just how the Moon quest for Scarlet Keep started.
Any correlation between Saladins chaotic rooms and mindset and the Umun and her state of mind? Savathun sows chaos subtly by undermining leadership. It's also obvious that Xivu is in league with Savathun too at least on cabal rather than being opportunistic as portrayed in Season of the Hunt. Another Hive fleet this time war moons not a Dreadnought. We need more than the resources available to us. Will the pyramids punish the Hive for breaking the deal with them? Guardians as warriors of the traveller don't do well in standard warfare the first fight with Crota on the moon proved that. Our final battles approach but this season with the cabal is a skirmish and a distraction. Zavala and his challenge against Caiatl is desperate strategy to end it.
caiatl probably wants to secure the powers stuck in anatheum worlds if she wants to challenge the hive. if they can make a light cage, maybe they can make one that works on the paracausal forces of the dark?

This channel brings so much nostalgia. I’ve been watching for 6 years. I remember when lore was so hard to learn and I think that’s why destiny 1 didn’t have as good of a story.

So I have a question about Chapter 5: New Gods.
Savathûn says "Xivu Arath hear me, you are War, and I conjure you with War and Blood" right? The last time we heard language spefically like that was when Auryx conjured Savathûn with trickery and Xivu Arath with bloodshed after he killed them to gain thier power to destory the Amonite I beleive right? (Or was it the Ecumine? It was when he learned to Take and become Oryx no?)
My question is this: We've heard next to nothing from Xivu Arath, then suddenly in Season of the Hunt, she shows up, not Warring, but Converting, Tricking...Seemingly working with or even for Savathûn. Was Xivu Arath dead? Is that why Savathûn sought out Nokris to learn Necromancy? To bring back Xivu Arath, binding this lesser god to her whim, and using her like blunt force trauma to damage our forces before she herself makes her big play?
It's a long shot, but so so much doesn't add up between the last two seasons for me
There is something to your theory. Thing is, I dont remember when exactly, but at some point during Year 2 a bunch of Taken Hive Yellow Bars appeared, roaming around the Dreaming City, all wearing the suffix "son/daughter of Xivu Arath".

You see this lore is AMAZING but I'm just a little sad we don't get to see it in game like maybe a cutscene with torobatl in or maybe even getting to go torobatl itself I mean we don't even know what it looks like we got to see what Riis sort of looked like but yeah I'd love to see torobatl at some point
This thought just occured to me but I think the darnkess' drive to push every living thing towards death is going to be its downfall, because it's driving everything to The Traveler and the guardians and more or less we are gaining more allies faster than we are gaining new enemies, The Darkness is forging its own defeat through its actions, and I think thats also why The Traveler hasn't ran yet, because it realizes that too
I think one of the big reasons why the Traveler didn't run away during the collapse as it did all those times before was because it finally realized it couldn't keep doing that forever.

Crazy idea, after Lightfall we really with huge numbers of Cabal and Elixni, both groups gets a handful of their own guardians, new enemy factions and races announced for the expansion afterwards and going into the next saga of Destiny

I remember reading a theory back in D1, "the Cabal and Fallen were originally allys, we don't see it because they're not on the same planets at once." 'Originally' as in like it was the original plan to Destiny. I've noticed they're going back to a lot of the original D1 concepts but I never thought they'd do this one again. Only way that I can think of Cabal having a chance is if they can create, like they did for the Light, a distortion or shielding device against the Hive's magics. Maybe a trap that makes a soul incapable of returning to Ascended Realm after being killed in the physical? Never know what those Psions are capable of

So, I am left wondering if Umun'arath was somehow allied to Xivu Arath well before the mess started. I The source of my speculation is the ending of her name. It could be, since she was worried about the Hive before the coup, she took the name as her first step down the road of damnation.

15:04 Caiatl doesn't have any delusions about her chances without some kind of counter for the Hive's magic. That's why she wanted the Guardians on her side in the first place. Also, Cabal technology has been shown to be capable of stripping away cosmic powers before. In conclusion, with the right tools, retaking Torobatl is difficult but not impossible.
And this why while Calus actions were flaw (mostly because they served more to satisfy his own self-image more the actual reform) going back to martial ways of old is also flawed.

I think that Xivu Arath is the one that deceived Umun'arath. Remember "Warfare is based on deception". The part "A gift for my favorite sister" I think is a line where Xivu Arath delivered Umun'arath to Savathûn so that Umun'arath could be Taken!

I think the next few weeks of the story will be telling if the Cabal will survive as a race in the Destiny universe. It sounds as if the new strike in the land tank is part of this challenge Zavala has made to her. If we win and become the deciding force of the conflict with the Cabal could we possibly looking at the combined Vanguard / Eliksni / Cabal force against the might of the Hive, Vex, Taken, and Darkness? I'm still not 100% sure the Vex will truly side with the Darkness unless the Sol Divisive can somehow rewrite them all to their side.
The fact that we get a mention of the god of war is insane to me, I love love love the hive lore and the fact that we get her mentioned made me a giddy school girl

Well, there is a way the could succeed: they need us.
Savathûn feels like the most dangerous troller of all time.
Caiatl has become my favorite character so far from an enemy faction.
So what if Caiatl wants to do a trade with us? Like her majesty’s forces assists us in pushing back both the Hive and Darkness and in turn we assist them to push Xivu Arath’s forces from the Cabal homeworld?
On one hand, we get to fight along side the cabal on their planet against some relentless hordes of hive. On the other we also see the darkness infused planets we lost.
At most the endgame would be facing off hive and taken on the war moon just how the Moon quest for Scarlet Keep started.
God imagine Witch Queen starts with Torbtal jumping into system and that's our main battle ground against the hive sisters

Any correlation between Saladins chaotic rooms and mindset and the Umun and her state of mind? Savathun sows chaos subtly by undermining leadership. It's also obvious that Xivu is in league with Savathun too at least on cabal rather than being opportunistic as portrayed in Season of the Hunt.
Another Hive fleet this time war moons not a Dreadnought. We need more than the resources available to us. Will the pyramids punish the Hive for breaking the deal with them?
Guardians as warriors of the traveller don't do well in standard warfare the first fight with Crota on the moon proved that.
Our final battles approach but this season with the cabal is a skirmish and a distraction. Zavala and his challenge against Caiatl is desperate strategy to end it.
