    Notes to self :
    Prep week:
    Schedule 1-2 days diaper free (mind difference between diaper free and naked time), use underwear that shows when he pees
    Read the 70 pages 12-18 months
    In the meanwhile :
    4 easy catches to ease him into EC
    Give them 30min /day diaper free
    In the scheduled 2 days : ask him to wait when he starts to go
    Keep nappies at night
    Check 124 and 125
    Maintenance and hyperplan : check the book
    It honors the kid to learn this skill

    My son is 15 months...one week until 16 months...been potty training since 11.5 months. He does really well outside of the house, but at home he seems to be free. I don't know his signs or cues although he's told me via sign language a few times. Afterwards he seemed to regress, but only at home.

      That's probably the comfort of being at home, as you said! Try switching-up his back-up. Naked, just loose pants, just underwear, or my Tiny Ups (from Tiny Undies) can be a real pee deterrent as fleece feels awful to pee in!👍

      @@AndreaOlson okay. He doesn't seemed phased by wetting his underwear...so tiny undies may be the trick. Thank you.

    @godiaperfree how can I get my daycare on board with me

    • @AndreaOlson

      Open, honest conversation. Probably finding ways to compromise. But some daycares are just not willing to help with EC or early toilet training in any way, and that's really an unfortunate situation. For myself, asking about potty stuff was very high on the list when I was searching for childcare options. 👍

    My baby was doing EC since 6 months. And on the 9th month we travelled for 6 weeks and totally hated going to the potty. Now that we are back, she still refuses to use her potty and gets really frustrated and agitated. Hoping we could go back again. Tips will be appreciated.

    Hey! My daughter's just turned 18 months. Could I still approach it from the 12-18 month range or would I be better off approaching from 18+?

    • @AndreaOlson
      @AndreaOlson  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can definitely start with some of the tools in the 12-18 months range however, after 18 months it is likely that she will start craving more independence within a few weeks or a couple months - at which point switching gears to the 18 month+ potty training program will be better 👍 (p.s. the Tiny Potty Training Book has a "prep step" which is for easing-in with some light EC!! 😃

      Looks like all of our Tiny Undies (underwear) are in-stock, but unfortunately nearly all of the padded trainers are not😞 We are hoping to have a shipment before Black Friday🤞💖

    How do you get them to sit there without a book? My son is 16month old😩

    • @AndreaOlson

      Some kiddos need distractions. If that is the case, and the only way to get your little one to sit, then by all means do what you need to do. 😊

    Hi! Great video, i do have a question. My 116 month old has been EC'd since 10 weeks and has been doing great though now walking and sometimes just doesnt want to sit how can I start her without cloth diapers?
    I have undies but dont know how to start. I will take out the books that she has in there. She isnt verbal yet but knows the potty sign but doesnt really tell us. Should I just start with observation time with undies all day and diaper at night?

    • @AndreaOlson
      @AndreaOlson  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes!!! Start with observation! If you have her with no undies, and she starts to pee, you can transport her to the potty mid-pee so she starts to make the connection between the feeling of needing to pee, and where to pee👍

      @@AndreaOlson thank you! I unfortunately didnt see this until today. Today i started her with undies, so far no accidents. She tends to hold pee pretty well. And i offer her the potty during the day, especially if i know shes drank water and or eaten. She goes a good amount of the time. Is this okay or would you think naked time no undies it best? Sorry meant that to say 16 months old lol

      When she sits on the potty she signs while peeing and pooping, does this count of her knowing the feeling?

    i tried starting EC but she fights and resists sitting on the potty. arches her back and cries.

    • @AndreaOlson
      @AndreaOlson  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It happens!! Sometimes because she is too cold, or the potty is too cold, sometimes because she doesn't actually understand yet what you're asking her to do. Like "mama, I need to pee! give me my diaper!" Hope this link will help you to figure it out! 🥰 godiaperfree.com/why-babies-resist-the-potty-potty-resistance-and-what-to-do/

    My 13 months just jumps off the small potty. Refusing to sit at all.

    • @AndreaOlson
      @AndreaOlson  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you've only just started EC, it is likely that he or she doesn't know what they're supposed to do on the potty! Remember: the diaper is the only toilet they've ever known! If this is new potty resistance, try using the toilet with a seat reducer instead!😉

  • @lihonghicken

    I use the EC method for my son at 6 months. So from 6 to 12 months, I didn't changed anything poop diaper, only pee diapers. But when he was 12 months, he can walk and just standup and run away from his potty. I was also returning to work, our nanny wasn't giving him potty as he refused. So we went back to diapers. Now he is about to turn 2, and he refused to wear diapers. But he sits on potty for 10 mins and won't go for 2+ hours.As soon as we put on diapers, he immediately goes.
    We did 2 days of naked and he started to be willing to sit on potty again but just can't go in the potty. Do you have any material for my situation?

    • @AndreaOlson
      @AndreaOlson  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sure do👍!! My Tiny Potty Training Book has the right plan for you! Basically, you need to teach him to recognize when he needs to pee, then to get his pee in the potty at that time, encouraging him to learn to do it for himself! As well as taking away the option of using a diaper anymore😬
