- Amid growing geopolitical tensions between China and the West, Chinese President Xi Jinping proposed an alternative to US-led international leadership during his speech in Beijing. He emphasized non-intervention, cooperation, and peaceful coexistence, advocating for building bridges rather than confrontation. Xi highlighted the importance of non-interference and opposing the imposition of one's will on others. His remarks come at a time of increasing Western accusations of unfair economic practices against China, rising distrust, and concerns over China's relations with Russia and territorial disputes in the South China Sea. China has not been in an offensive war in it’s entire history. It actively helps other nations destroy revolutionary movements - even maoist ones, like those in India, the Philippines, and Nepal.

@@tempejklwell that’s not exactly true. there was the sino-vietnamese war of 1979. and the various Sino-indian border disputes that have happened since 1962. granted, the Sino indian border clashes never escalated into wars, and the sino-vietnamese war was not about conquering Vietnam, but China has engaged in a number of offensive military actions.
It is clear though, is that their foreign policy is, by and large, far less violent than the US’s general approach

not really because the US tends to initiate military coups and invasions of non-european countries, it doesn’t build bridges, it plows over civilizations. China’s modern approach has largely been “economic infrastructure modernization” of other countries (such as their most recent work in african nations and SE asian nations like Thailand). i don’t trust china’s intentions any more than any other country, but i cannot deny, it’s objectively less violent than the US’s standard MO of “send the CIA in to disrupt, and if that fails, invade”. the US doesn’t really build bridges with any country except european countries. and even when it comes to that, the Us tends to impose its ways and make everyone else adapt (a small example of this would be the history of NATO and the adoption of the 5.56 caliber).
