      @Higheditz1 yeah if you can't wall run then you just suck, it's really dynamic if you have a free runners mindset

      Agreed but the map for the most part along with a ton of other things is still awful
      There’s a reason literally not a single DL content creator disagrees, and that’s because it just is
      They’ve been doing a great job lately but they still have a long ass way to go, specially since a lot of the problems aren’t fixable anymore

      90% of the people still complaining about parkour just don’t have the brains to utilize the systems in place

      @av_kay5059 If we would have just gotten what we were promised we'd be good but nope, I honestly wouldn't a mind a map reboot as long as we keep our stuff, also idk if I said this but there's certain parts of the Map where your grapple hook doesn't work for no reason

    When in combat with a a group of enemies third person is always the best.

    Agreed. Parkour being the main gameplay mechanic of the game, it also feels weird when you're thrown into co-op missions where you have to stand your ground against waves of zombies, especially in hard mode. We had to spam grenades and molotovs during the one where you have to defend a generator on the docks.
    But yeah, I quite agree that the central loop shouldn't have been about tall buildings but instead a denser older city. They nailed it with the first game and maybe they should take inspiration from Madrid for the next. : )

      Elyseum was going to be another region of Villedor, like Old Villedor and the Central Loop, instead of being an entire map. Originally, they were going to introduce the Elyseum region after a certain part of the main quest - maybe after the dam quest that was shown in E3 2019 where you meet The Butcher but I'm not sure. This was obviously scrapped and the dam quest was incorporated into the shit Epilogue.

    I never understood why people liked the old grappling hook more, if you were good at it there wasn't really a point to have a "parkour" system in the first place, parkour isn't just jumping and climbing from one building to the next, there's vaulting there's creativity, flow, when I saw people get "good" with the dl1 hook the only parkour I'd see would be a landing on a car or maybe a break fall hear and there. Not saying it wasn't fun to be able to zip around like spider man but and kinda in a way keep up with the night hunter, but when there's such a big emphasis on a mechanic that's based around using your environment and your own unique perspective on traversal capabilities that your comfortable with. I don't want to sound d preachy, just trying to start some potentially engaging conversations that could perhaps one day affect the future for us gamers. Honestly I don't see why we can't have both versions, i know a potential argument is the games fun comes from is wacky and creative tools for us to play with in the sandbox world, I agree, on that I don't see why we couldn't have both versions. For example, people like to say dl2 hook makes them feel like Spiderman, but I'd say if we wanted it to really feel like that, we would need some kind of option to use the hook from the first game to kinda act as the zip ability Spiderman has, those 2 core web swinging skills combine with the better parkour could really make you feel like the man himself. In the options players on console can change the controls to press both bumpers instead of the trigger., I forget what it's called but to give an example of how I think it could work would be to keep the trigger mechanics as is, but I stead of giving us the option to use one set of controls over the other, just add the dl1 hook to the bumpers to go in tandem with the trigger mechanics. Also, bring back the under bar from the trailer, I think we all appreciate the knife in the billboard to slow our fall, but I never see anyone talk about the minor details like adding more parlour moves, adien only does like 2 vaults when there's sooooo many ways and types of vaulting techniques. I understand there's limitations but crane was always changing the vaulting types he did when passing over different obstacles, that to me felt more like real parkour than what adien can do. Like the fact he doesn't know how to sprint off the jump!!! Children have to learn to walk, once you figure that out, running and sprinting are SECOND NATURE, like what... adien is supposed to be the highly skilled runner, at least by the end of the game for arguments sake, why does he only know how to do beginner lvl (in my opinion as someone who's also practiced in the past) parkour. I love and appreciate the updates so far, but honestly I'm at the point t where I'm ready to mean it when I say "I wish we actually got more parkour like we were promised, at the very least." When I watched the old reveal trailers I thought dl2 was honestly going to make me feel like I was playing a molded assassins creed game that let's you play in first person just to see the parkour from a more "personal" POV. That's one major reason why parkour is so fun to watch, the various techniques and personality, the sense of flight and freedom that people who watch, feel it, makes them imagine themselves going outside and trying to get a taste of that feeling, for the people who are doing it, it's like flying, without the squirrel suit 😅. Sorry this went on so long, again I'm just trying to get some conversation going, for multiple reasons. One of those being I love the game and want to see it thrive and expand and improve in all fronts, but that all starts with us as the players voicing our unique thoughts and opinions. We at the very least have the freedom to come together on that I hope. Peace and love to all who managed to get this far down. ❤ side note, couldn't find the peace sign so... I guess double hearts...? Idk I'm just some random 27yr old nerd who needs more hobbies but doesn't have the time right now x.x

      well, with the recent news and future updates we can only hope for DL2 to turn into something much greater. But I do also believe that the parkour doesn't feel as amazing as it did in the previous game...

    • @kalebbettencourt5884
      @kalebbettencourt5884 ปีที่แล้ว

      @TruePhoque the 1st game is great but again, parkour isn't just being able to jump from one building/platform to another. That's kinda what the first game was, especially when doing the the races, every check point gave you a speed boost that would make crane practically fly off buildings. The second game has definitely had a rough start, and I feel like we were lied to when we were told the parkour moves were doubled, but if you compare real parkour POVs videos and then compare the 2, I'd say the 2nd game is closer in match so I'd have to say 2 feels more like parkour than the first game.

    I know the game has alot of re used assets but you know how expensive it would be to make everyone unique? Also the central loop is alot easier to navigate, I think it's just a skill issue

    • @lordfickle8900
      @lordfickle8900 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Re-using assets happens alot in games and that's perfectly okay, it even happened in Fallout New Vegas. But Dying Light 2's world was built using a procedural generator that Techland called the City Creator. They used this heavily and only went back to tweak certain areas instead of trying to make every area feel somewhat unique or rewarding to explore. I feel like the map could've been better if they handcrafted more unique areas like in Dying Light 1 instead of making almost every building look the exact same.

    • @fimurr
      @fimurr ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @lordfickle8900 dying light 1 had alot of re used parts also dying light 1 had a much smaller map, but yeah dying light 2 has alot of glitchy parts, the city has random parts where you can't use your grapple hook or even access assets and other items, but you can't rlly compare the maps bc of how the map sizes are different, itd still be very expensive, they don't have a big budget, that's why they teamed up with that awful new company

    • @TheTrueSeal
      @TheTrueSeal  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Asset re-use happens in every game, and not only in the games themselves but their sequels as well (e.g. AC Origins to Odyssey to Valhalla has tons of re-used assets. same goes for every Yakuza game) but it's more fun to navigate through the first part of the map because of the more unique opportunities

    • @lordfickle8900
      @lordfickle8900 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@fimurr Except dying light 1 had more unique areas like a school, police stations, parking lots. Dying Light 2 is just commercial buildings and apartments. And don't give me the whole "low budget" myth. They had plenty of money, it just got basically stolen by their CEO, who is a billionaire btw.

    • @fimurr
      @fimurr ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @lordfickle8900 so yeah it's pretty much still a low budget if it's stolen, im ngl dl2 was a big let down and almost nothing in the trailer even the map was given to us, especially compared to dl1. I get what you mean about the police stations and stuff but still it's a much bigger map with much more things in it, like yeah no police stations but now we have more traps and more parkour options, more interactive outposts especially with the way the whole thing changes at once whenever you unlock a safe zone, now we have actual zones too. I'm not opposed to what you want added and I wish we got what we were promised too, even the map in the trailer isn't the same, but again this map is much much bigger and has alot more dynamic elements and interactive assets that's why they prolly cheaped out on some other stuff because that money went somewhere else, why do you think there's still some places where you can't wall run or use ur grapple hook?
