the "key" doesn't come out on the RLs, its kinda like a push to start button
2006 RL has both,key and keyless,you can use either one.
A low battery will do that also. With the codes I mean.

I have my 2010 Acura MDX Elite model, I live in Alberta Canada and I just put regular gas from Costco 4 years now since I bought it used and never got any issue with my engine.

I had one of these before. There should be a separate key fob in the car somewhere and it should be “keyless”. The one in the ignition always stays there

I wouldn't keep an extra keyfob in the car, it will not stay locked if you do.

Old reliable don’t need no premium gas!
I have a 06 black on black bagged on 19s full custom SQ sound system with A pillar mids and tweets. Very rare to see one done up I've only seen a few online because there is no aftermarket support for anything but if you know how to customize and build one of these believe me it's a croud favorite.. Downsides yes you will need to redo the Acura leather it's junk, if your into body kits you will need to go custom or order factory style kit from japan and fix it nothing new out there, no stereo upgrade avalable but there is dsp options and the factory system is awsome head unit is alpine factory with the tech package. so much good stuff I love this car!!!

I think you're right. Didn't these RLs have a "keyless" ignition system where you could keep the key fob in your pocket and just turn the key/knob that is permanently attached to the steering column? I know the Lexus LS of this era had a similar ignition setup.
Interesting. I saw a couple of videos of people removing the key from the ignition.
Your correct I had a 06 RL the ignition key doesn’t come out it’s one of those early age keyless push to start

THANKS FOR THE VIDEO, I HAVE THE SAME MODEL AND YEAR AND THE SAME TROUBLE ENGINE LIGHT ON, I DISCONECTED THE SAME AS YOU DO AND ILL TRY IT O ROAD SO I LET YOU KNOW BECAUSE I REPLACED INTAKE FILTERS, 4 CATALYST SENSORS, VALVE COVER GASTETS, SPARKS, AND CONTINUE WITH ENGINE LIGHT ON SO I DESCONECT THE SAME PLUG AS YOU DO AND RECONECT IT AGAIN AND ERASE CODE SO ILL TRY IT
I RAN IT TODAY AND ENGINE LIGHT TURN ON AGAIN, I DONT KNOW WHAT IT IS, ITS RUNS GOOD, DOES NOT HAVE ANY ISSUE, THE IDDLE IS GOOD, ACELERATE PERFECT, ANY ADVICE ??

Did you ever get rid of the SH-AWD and VSA codes? I have those same two lights on, the SH-AWD went then the VSA the day after. Advice would be appreciated!
I did. Turns out it was a loose connection on the engine bay
@@Kevs.Garage I tried that but everything was connected, at this point I’ve bought a Honda scanner tool and it didn’t tell me anything I didn’t already know. I hate seeing the codes but I am not willing to throw thousands into a dealerships pockets over a 6000$ car. Thank you though.
