It's not like the American brands who built small cars cheaply, so they are less reliable and don't last as long. Also, notice how good condition the paint is - still shiny and not faded or peeling and no rust as Toyota rust proof them
will likely be an oil burner. those engines are famous for carbon buildup on the piston rings and clogged piston drain holes. keep an eye on the oil level and carry a gallon.

That engine knock in the beginning though. Sounds like piston slap or VVT actuator
Turns out the knocking noise was coming from the exhaust shield. It was rusted and coming out so we took it off
