- Here is a little update on my 2006 Acura RL Technology with nearly 200,000 miles. So far this car has treated me well. It does need some work which is be expected of a car with this amount of miles and age. Thank you all for watching, your comments are always appreciated.

Just bought an ‘07 with 255k. It’s my favorite car I’ve ever owned and so much fun to drive. A few cosmetic issues, but engine has been well-maintained. Hope I can enjoy it for a while!
I bought an 07' about 6 weeks ago w/150k and all black. I think it's beautiful and a non-cookie cutter car! Plenty of power, torque, awd...everything but the radar cc. During the time I've had it, I've yet to even SEE another one...a fabulous thing by itself. All I've done is treat and protect the leather and wood, upgraded the wheels and tires to 18s and did a complete paint correction.... that's it. All I have left on my list is the A-spec kit.....so far, can't find one, but I'll live on if I never do.
A very underrated car. I had one and its my favorite car of all so far. Im actually about to get another one and keep it for years.
It really makes me feel special driving my kb1. Noone has one around me and when I see someone with one, seldom, we give the respect nod, furthering my respect for the niche clean car
After market parts are fine. I just replaced all the shocks and struts with KYB equipment. The ride has improved. I wouldn’t hesitate to use quality aftermarket parts or used parts to keep it running.

niice i got an 07 RL 113k for 7k 😎 used to have a 6 speed RSX type-S but i have to say im more happy with my RL ..sucha sleeper car. i beat challengers and chargers and idk why lol
@@CerealKiller669 It’s cause the RL has a 3.5 L V6 engine :) That’s a lot of power for a pretty old sedan, it can go 40mph in around 4 seconds. I own an 06
One if not the most underrated luxury midsize sedan at the time period.
Oh dude, never thought it would be as exciting as the TLs of that period. Boy was i wrong!
Lower control arms are aluminum alloy and so their cost will be higher than cheaper to make stamped steel ones, $500.00 is the highest I've seen for an oem arm, Beck Arnley make copies for about $300.00 but i'll stick with oem. Front calipers are made by Advics and pads can be bought for under $100.00 for an oem set. You can purchase drilled and slotted rotors for around $200.00 which is a better option over oem, shocks are also reasonably priced if you buy KYB which is also better over oem. Just saying.
Drilled and slotted rotors ARE NOT better than oem lol, thats early 2000s perception. They wear out pads faster and are prone to crack, real quality drilled are hella expensive and the ones on the market are reps with way less quality than oems. Just stick to OEM or known brands, never put on drilled unless u wanna look like a rice with less braking power.
I also own a 06 rl. Best car I've ever owned. Its actually 290 hp and 256 torque!!
300hp before rating scale revised after 2005. Enjoy your 06!

Your seats are in incredible condition. I was once shopping for this gen RL and most of the ones I saw had trashed/teared seats. I drive an RX now; we should do a collab if you're in PA. I'm a college student

He changed just the lower chrome strip, not the grille.
I watched one of ur last videos and saw that u fixed the center console. Do you mind sharing how u did that or what product you used? Mine is torn pretty badly.
I live in New Zealand and have a Honda Legend 2006. I think they are identical to the Acura RL. My front shocks need replacing but finding it difficult to find any. Honda said i have to wait 2 months and they are very. expensive. Looked on eBay. They seem a lot cheaper in the USA but shipping to NZ is very expensive. Any comments in this area ? Thank you
get KYB struts. they aren't as durable as original but they handle just as nice.

My keys got flushed down a automatic flushing toilet at a loves truck stop and the locksmith that came and said he get me a key so I could go about my business showed up and then was unable to get a key code!! Any ideas how to get the key code?
Harder to find these days. I did a search, didn't find any within a 200mi radius of my location :( nationwide search for the 2008 I find about 11 lol.

You mentioned in another video that you had to figure out how to fix your rear window sunshade. So what was the solution. Mine stopped working, it won’t raise or lower. Is there a reset, like with the windows?
I’m not sure. The switch for my sunshade was bad and I replaced it.
How did you repair your armrests?
Anyone know if these cars can get windows tinted? Had two mechanics tell me not too tint it because it will peel

I really like the RL and it is a great sedan for what it is, especially at the price point. However, it’s a mistake for Acura classified the RL as “flagship sedan” comparing the RL with the big guns of luxury such as the Lexus LS, Mercedes Benz S class, the BMW 7 series and the Audi A8. Acura is not in the same class as the elite luxury automobiles.

I got all four rotors and pads for $500. Rear pads were shit and had to replace them with a higher quality brand as they were sqeeking nonstop.

Where can I buy a new mirror for my 2006 rl?
Ebay motors. That's where i got mine. Make sure you get the paint code from the driver side door jam.
Horrible fuel economy in the city. It's a legit 15 mpg on premium. 26 highway at 80 mph though.
Just learned recently that the 01-06 RLs have terrible transmissions and electrical problems. Just a heads up.
