      The video is edited to be shorter so we don't bore you with Dave counting 38 wraps! 😁 Check out how long the line takes to come off of his reel 😉

    Seems legit...
    There is no way that last cast was 38 x 13ft rod lengths. Awful technique, rod not parallel to the ground, no hip movement, no power and slow hands/tip speed. Looks more like 100yrd tops. Typical carp angler overhead thump.

      The video doesn't show all 38 wraps as we didn't want to bore you! 😁 Check out how long the line takes to come off of his reel 😉

    I didn't see a video where someone explained the shooting finger technique. Should you hold line with finger tight or not? When and how should you release your finger, especially when casting at long range?
    Does anyone know of a similar video? help me

      you dont push the line to the rod, instead you hold the line with your pointer finger. This way the finger movement is minimum.
      When to release the line:
      You must let the rod tip push the lead and then you release. It should feel very tight. Basically you aim for the sound which is easier. What i mean is if your rod whistles a lot that means you release your finger way too early(your released before the rod tip push). The sound you want is how the rod breaks through the wind and nothing else, and dont forget about the rod tip push at the end of the cast.

    How about doing that again, but with a big cross wind hurling in?

      How about showing something that'll outperform it with a big cross wind hurling in?

    1 question ,,, why put more 40lb than needed ???????

    • @stevesracingbits
      @stevesracingbits 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      So people can leave it on if needed if you dont cut some off it's not just used as a shock leader it's used for abrasion too if your fishing snaggy swims

    😂 from someone who can cast a little over 40 wraps with conditions like you had on the day I find it a little hard to believe this was 38wraps more like 30 wraps which is impressive for the majority of carp anglers but come on mate there's no need to exagerrate and deceive the ones that can the time it took for to line to come off the spool did nt seem long at all did you speed that part of the video up too
