How To Spool Up with TAPERED MAIN LINE | KORDA LONG CHUCK

  • Long Chuck Tapered Mono is an amazing product that will definitely help you hit those longer distances you are after but, there is a specific way to spool up with it to ensure you fill your reels right to the top! We asked WORLD RECORD caster Terry Edmonds to demonstrate the best way to do so!
A big tip here is to make sure you count the number of turns of backing line you put on. If you count them, you can (providing you use the same line for backing) just add this number straight to your other reels without needing to do the first set of steps!
Terry Edmonds managed to put a baited rig 50 wraps using this line, spooled up in this exact way! That is 200 YARDS!

If you don't want to do this get the app line calc, this will tell you how much backing you need for your spool. You do however need to know the crank length of your reel...how much you retrieve per handle turn to wind on the right amount.

Those reels are soooo 😍🤣 nice little vid, I think lots of people avoid tapered mainlines thinking it’s too complicated but really it’s a simple process when you know how.

Is putting the spool into the water a good idea for the drag? This feels like a recipe for line twist as well? Unless it reverses the twist from putting it on the first spool

Should I backwind with this line or can I play a fish as usual using the clutch? Thanks…

Nice vid and a great way to work out the backing.. but, I have two questions that hopefully someone can answer as I am a little confused..1. Is the tapered line loaded on the spools specifically to be loaded this way as if it is not, then surely the taper is the wrong way around unless you use another spool? 2. what was the point of attaching the backing line to the spool with a knot, then not attaching the backing to the mainline, or am I missing something? Keep them coming guys, great informative vid as usual :) ok, it is double tapered, did not realise that so that answers my first question :)

Apparently its tapered at both ends of the spool , im sure Terry said that in a different video on TH-cam.

Our LONG CHUCK Tapered Mainline is tapered at both ends so can be put on exactly as demonstrated in this video 👍🏼

Looks great and if Tel is hammering it you know it's good quality. Does anyone know what the abrasion resistance is like on this or any of the longchuck line?

Few times I’ve done this the spool of line just falls over in the water 🤬

Why not just sell larger spool of line so you can do away the the chore of using backing line , I'm not having a dig just my opinion . It's great having new line on your reels every angler loves nice fresh line but no one like spooling up well I don't anyway 🤣

Because they are Tapered both ends, so they can be reversed for double usage, and everyones spools are different sizes...

    Why add old line ?

    • @johnlee2230
      @johnlee2230 ปีที่แล้ว

Old line is just for backing it won't be used, its so that your tapered mainline is filled perfect on the spool, underfilled spools don't cast well, defeating the object of tapered mainline in the first place..

Got this on my reels. Not impressed. Lost its colour in two weeks. Looks like its been on there 20 years. Looks nasty

The worse line Ive ever used, sooooo stiff, worse than fluro, cast ok/average in 15lb. Much better lines out there. Im huge korda fan but this was a huge disappointment 😞

‘The first few turns do slowly’ come on Korda that’s atrocious grammar
