      Nothing I'm super late but if you haven't decided you should definitely get a jeep. 90% of people who say jeeps are unreliable or jeeps are horrible on road haven't owned one. There's a reason the resale is so high on jeeps. My 2010 Jk has 145k miles and I haven't had a single issue. The only thing i'd recommend is getting one newer than mine because the 2010's engine is underpowered.

    I dont know about the newer jeeps, but my 4.0L yj with the ax15 transmission accelerates pretty quick. Also, the doors lock. The steering is quick and smooth. Its actually pretty comfortable on road trips(stock seats). Its pretty compact, and handles pretty well in urban environments. The heater makes up for the lack of insulation. It handles snow better than alot of other vehicles, and the only time i have been stranded, was when the alternator crapped out. Also, its pretty safe, because it takes no damage in fender benders, and you understand that a high speed crash WILL hurt, so you use just a little extra caution when driving.

      How fuel efficient are they? I've heard they're not very good with gas mileage. My father had a 6-speed stick shift one. Drove it once. Have to be honest. It was a lot of fun! Is it worth it? I wouldn't be going off road very much.

    • @kazeryu17
      @kazeryu17 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@higherlearning2483 To be honest, the fuel efficiency is terrable although there are less efficient vehicles. I get about 11mpg city, and 16mpg highway on average. Also, the tank I not large, so you have to refuel more often. a tank of gas will get me about 3-4 hours of interstate driving, depending on weather I'm going up, or down hill. Basically, if you want somthing that will get you where you want to go(fuel cost not a factor), weather that be at the end of a jeep trail, or narrow downtown streets; can take a beating; is iconic; and is fun to drive, and great for recreation; than an old jeep makes a great vehicle. If your looking for somthing safe, fuel efficient, and family friendly, than a jeep is probably the worst thing you can get. I mentioned that they are safe, because they are unsafe. No ABS, no air bags, and very little impact absorption. If you get into a major accident, you will be lucky if your killed on impact, because if you survive, it will be through the miracles of modern medicine, and you will probably never fully recover. Driving a jeep motivates you to become very skilled at defensive driving.

I don't think I'll ever be without a Wrangler ever again. The one thing that I would not agree with in this video is that they are reasonably priced. They are not reasonably priced at all. Another negative of the Jeep: Lousy towing capacity, can haul only 3,500 your regular v6, the hybrid should hauled more and don’t get me started with the v8 wrangler with a hemi engine. When you upgrade to either hybrid or v8, it’s still pathetic if you want to haul things like a bigger trailer with only 3,500 pounds for what you spend on it. The gladiator is just a wrangler pickup and that thing can haul something, just the sport variant only with the max weight being 7,500 pounds

    I have a 2010 2 Door sport 6M and I love it we haven’t had a problem besides a recall of the tacata airbags. Only negatives I can think of is with the 2 door getting in and out of the backseats is a pain and they are cramped they are definitely meant for kids, another negative is the gas mileage it sucks. The last negative is when you have the top and doors off you have to look at the weather each day to make sure it doesn’t rain or you can put a cover over it. If it does get rained on nothing should be damaged you can drain them out easily.

      The early '08-'10 2 door JK X like I have is utilitarian, a rugged Jeep. No bells and whistles, didn't even have cruise control which was good in my book but I installed it because my wife uses it in snow to get to work. My '08 doesn't have p/w or p/l. Doors and windows are usually in the garage most of the year. 3.73 gears on 33" duratracs w/ 2.5" old man emu lift. Tough as nails. I had an '05 TJ Rocky Mtn and my '08 JK X is by far the best vehicle I've owned. Nowadays all I see are the rolling, all fluff 4 door tampons with hardtops. Just Jeep abominations. To all the 2 door Jeep owners, Jeep On! 🇺🇸

    Jeeps aren’t designed to be daily drivers and/or a primary vehicle. Jeeps are very expensive toys, and that’s what they are….an expensive toy. And as a toy they’re terrific. They’re fun to drive, customize, and they’re lots of fun. I recently bought my third Jeep and second Wrangler. On the positive side, Jeeps hold their value better than just about any other vehicle.
    An entire industry exists just to supply customized parts and upgrades for Jeeps at very reasonable prices.

I move the steering wheel a 1/2 inch and you're in the other lane. If anything the steering is to fast. I had to learn to adjust my steering much less when I went from a truck or car to a jeep. Slow steering, yeah right!

  • @OriginalTeddy

    My experience owning one so far...
    Every ad, pamphlet, sales literature and even the sales pitch at the dealership revolve around it's off road capabilities. Yet doing things I did on a weekend basis with my 20 year old Wrangler TJ Sahara caused the yolk on the front inner axle to fail, taking out a ball joint and snapped an ear off of the now cheap aluminum steering knuckle. All on a brand new 2019 Wrangler JL Rubicon!
    First they tried to brush me off due to evidence of mud under the vehicle (for real?). The argument quickly escalated that I possibly hit something despite 0 damage on any other components. They wouldn't say I did hit something for sure, but since it was a possibility... they had an argument. It was also a possibility a part failed... just saying. When making it clear I couldn't be without a vehicle any longer and that I have to get it fixed, I asked if it needed anything else. They didn't know, as they didn't inspect it. They just saw it was broke and dirty and essentially just said nope unless I paid up. I was told they could see if anything aside from what they could see by looking behind the tire was broke, but I'd have to pay for a full inspection. At one point I was given the option to pay in "advance" to speed up the repairs and if the warranty kicked in, I'd be reimbursed. Ya, right...
    Being jerked around between the dealership and customer service, I took my jeep elsewhere to get fixed. Doing so apparently waived my right to complain anymore or receive compensation. But after 2 weeks of being without a vehicle... it had to be done. It turned into 3 weeks after everything was said and done.
    That's what 60k buys you!
    I've posted this a few times on Jeeps facebook page. Which are all deleted and I am blocked now from commenting. Guess your only allowed to tell people to go ahead and void your warranty work, it's fun!

    Who else thinks a $700.00 dollar bumper is cheap? Yes you can buy cheaper stuff but if you really take it off road much sometimes cheap stuff can leave you stranded. One thing I love about older jeeps is making alot of your upgrades. You can build upgrades for your new one as well but you might want to put more time and effort into making it pretty so as to not make a newer jeep look so rough or crappy as it were. Love my jeep and I wouldn't trade it for any other vehicle.
