    I know many people will hate my reasons, but I simply just want a wrangler because of the style and everything about the interior and sound system! The only off roading ill probably do is driving on the beaches here in Australia, but it is my dream car in every aspect.

      They're a pig on Aussie roads especially when you fit bigger tyres. Solid front axle is too much of a compromise if you rarely off-road. Buy a Prado instead

I dont mind the smaller screen but I admit I would like the power seats because it never fails that I will get in and start driving and then realize my husband drove it least and I need to move it up a notch or so but Im driving and unfailingly will go too far forward......and then too far back..... and so on til I come to a stop and can adjust it just right. The handling takes a little getting used to, but I'm actually very impressed with the JL's highway manners even in tight corners and unexpected maneuvers. For a vehicle that sits as high as it does, it handles very well. As far as fuel economy, that was one of my biggest turn offs. However; I purchased the EcoDiesel and I get 30+ mpg highway with it. Even in city driving with lots of idling I get 24 mpg. Overall, I'm averaging 26-28 mpg combined even when towing things around in my utility trailer. The EcoDiesel also has 442 ft/lbs of torque. Too bad they're phasing it out after 2023. I like the infotainment setup, I don't need a movie screen. The integration with Android is pretty seamless and works better than many of the systems I've used over the years. There's not a ton of dash space on these, so I'm not convinced a bigger screen would be an improvement. Great pro/con video!

      I think handling manners are highly subjective.
      I got a Jeep JL 9 months ago and coming from a lifted pickup with 35” tires, found the Jeep easier to drive.
      Now my sister in law bought a Jeep about 6 months ago and she couldn’t stop complaining about its highway manners. She came from a crew cab luxury F-150.
      I’ve driven her Jeep and it’s identical to mine.

    I bought a '23 JLU Sport S Altitude in Aug of '23. The good and the bad about a Wrangler, is how owners keep customizing their vehicle. I bought a lower trim level to make my modifications more cost effective.
    Fuel economy with the 3.6L can vary. But up to 65mph, my Wrangler gets the same fuel economy as my '20 Dodge Durango with the same engine. Compared to my Durango, the tow capability is pitiful.
    I bought mine to tow behind our Diesel powered Ram 2500 Crewcab 4wd, that carries a 4wheel popup camper. Also my wife should drive the Wrangler for local driving, instead of the truck. Problem is, my grandkids are trying to convince me that I bought it for them.
    Handling is good. It really depends on the tires. I will change to a Dynatrack 2" lift kit. Which should enhance the ride and flex on the trail.

    The 4XE is the worst option for fuel economy if your upgrading to larger tires, you end up constantly driving on the overweighted 2.0 turbo which eats up gas in a hurry. The diesel is the best engine they put out even with overpriced diesel at the pumps it's still economical. I'm running 37x13.5 tires on my and barely notice. Sure not the smoking economy i used to get but compared to anything built for big tires on the road it's #1!

    • @drivingwithstu
      @drivingwithstu  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The eco diesel has 442 ft/lbs of torque. The 4XE has 470 ft/lbs of torque. The 4XE can use the electric power on demand to help move bigger tires. Those stats indicate the 4XE would be better for moving tires 🤷‍♂️. But let's see what it's like real world, my 4XE Rubi should arrive in a few months and I will be putting on 35-37 inch tires, lets compare economy then and find the answer.

    • @gabugabu1976
      @gabugabu1976 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@drivingwithstu I have 3 friends who off road or used to off road the 4XE, only 2 of them do now because they got rid of them. The 4xe becomes reliant on the gas engine with bigger tires, and the 2.0 turbo is not economical with the extra weight 4xe. This is just a fact, plus you're not factoring in that the 4xe is heavier than even a 392 Rubicon, and yes 2 of my friends have these.
      My Rubicon Diesel also known as the JLURD 4.50 teraflex lift, 37x13.50x17 cooper stt pros, I'm an avid member of 4LOWBC and founder of our own club Club18RUBI+.
      The 4xe is a grocery getter but the worst wrangler ever produced for 4wheeling. They are having chronic transmission, t-case, and electrical problems. This seems worse for wheeler owners.

    Considering the lengths that Jeep has gone to in order to please the khaki slack and polo shirt wearing crowd, the complaint for power seats falls on deaf ears. A jeep is a utilitarian vehicle which has unfortunately been refined to the point of being just another overpriced cross over, with two solid axles. Since the inception of the wrangler in 1987, the jeep maintained that utilitarian platform with a few "bolted on" amenities for comfort through the tj line, and then went full out mall crawler with the jku. A jeep should have two doors and the inside should be able to handle the same weather as the outside.

There will always be pro's and con's to any vehicle but the latest wrangler (JL) truly raised the bar for the entire wrangler series and gives a great platform for many uses. My jeep as seen handles and rides great as is due to simple design of the new JL and how easy it is to get the suspension tuned well. Much easier than the old TJ's and YJ's. Lol. I have owned a Wrangler but the answer really depends if you are buying new or used. If you are buying a new 2024 I would say this is Jeeps most reliable platform to date. For longevity, probably opt for the V6 engine option. If you are going used it really depends on the year, trim, powertrain configuration and intended use. I would say, figure out whether you are going to use the Jeep as a daily driver, rock crawler or both. If you are leaning more towards rock crawling I'd opt for a Rubicon. Once you have established that, find a used one in your budget and research that individual year and powertrain. I hope this helps and earns a subscriber!

    im sorry did this reviewer seriously say the wrangler is not ideal for "high speed handling and performance"???? im sorry lets remember that the CJs and YJs were notorious for rollovers, and no one looking to buy a wrangler is interested in its "high speed handling and performance" 🤣🤣🤣🤣 you might as well have said "Con: it is not a sports car" and it would have been equally as ridiculous of a statement. also literally none of your "cons" are anything that a jeep owner and enthusiast cares about in the slightest. no one buys a 4wd brick expecting it to corner like a vette, have no wind noise while going down the road, have power seats, have a banging audio system or have spectacular fuel mileage (note my V6 w/ E-Torque 2023 JLU gets 20mpg average). you buy a wrangler to cruise with the top and doors off and/or go play in the mud, through the woods, and over rocks. power seats dont fair so well when they are wet 😉

    My roof is detachable when I’m on the highway, full speed, it sounds like air is coming in. I don’t like it and regret it. I really wanted the roof that is not detachable but this was all they had and I was in need of a ride.

    Regarding the info-entertainment system, we bought a new 2023 Grand Cherokee L Limited with the new spanky Uconnet5. What a piece of garbage! I wouldn't advise anyone to buy a Jeep/Dodge/Ram with the Uconnect5. In fact, JD Power lowered their rating on the Ram due the issues from Uconnect5. We traded our Grand L in after only 6 months for a new 2023 Cherokee Trailhawk with good old tried and proven Uconnect4!
