4 door is like any other all around people hauler SUV. The 2 door on the other hand, is the iconic, timeless, mud-in-your-DNA 4 wheeling machine we call a Jeep. Period

In 2008 purchased a new 2 door Jeep Wrangler Sahara. Purchased with the idea of small town runs in northern, MI, something for fun. In 2018 we decided to load it up, take a trip throughout the West, making our way to Seattle, WA for a flight to Alaska. In total on this trip we hit 14 Nat'l Parks, traveled from Montana to Arizona, totaled 11,000 miles in the lower 48 with gas mileage at 20.3. Not a single issue. We left with no idea when we would return. We added additional cushions to our seats for comfort and shelves with rear seat removed for 2 tier packing as we needed summer clothes for southern states, cold winter gear for Alaska. Fast forward to 2021, Jeep has 52, 000 miles, we are 76 and 80. For us, a trip of a lifetime!

2 door is the best!! I fed my daughter through the window into her car seat in the back of my 2 door for the first 3 years of her life until she was big enough that I could put her in the passenger seat and let her climb into the back between the front seats. With the top down, it was easy, but when the top was on, it was such a situation lol. I'd have to unzip and unvelcro the side window, toss it on the ground, then put her feet first through the soft top bows and roll bar and everything into her car seat. Then I would climb into the trunk area to do all the buckling, still worth it! =D I've never had any trouble finding upgrades for my 2 door, you can ask my wife, she will agree haha

I would like to have a 4 door for the extra storage and being able to sleep in the Jeep better. The big downfall of a 4 door for me would be the turning radius. My 2007 JK allows me to turn around on tight mountain roads when the path ahead is no longer drivable. I would hate to have a 4 door and have to back all the way back down. I’ve made a platform in my Jeep so sleeping in the JK is doable even though it’s not luxury. This was a great video!

I cook with a cast iron pitchfork. No need to try and bring a full makeshift kitchen. A pitchfork is an amazing cooking utensil. There's something special about roughing it. I was snowing all day and there was about 6-8 inches of snow on the local roads and some of the intersections had a lot of ice and very slick icy spots. The first Jeep I drove was the two door option. Do to the snow and the major road in front of the dealershiup, US-395, being heavy with traffic, I had made a right turn out of the dealership on the frontage road (heading north) and was going to make another 3 right turns so as to go around the large block the dealership was located on in order to get to a traffic light so I could make a left turn onto US-395 heading south. Dealership located at the south end of Carson City, NV. Then we drove half way up the Spooner Grade towards Lake Tahoe.
At the first intersection after pulling out of the dealership, the slick ice spun the 2-Door Wrangler sideways. Throughout the whole test drive, this Wrangler felt squirrely. I just didn't quite fell at ease driving it.
When I drove the 4-Dr Wrangler in contrast felt much more secure and solid on the icy roads. I was much more comfortable in and felt much more confident on the icy roads in the 4-Door verson. Since my daily commute was going to have me driving over 40 miles 1-way from home to work - Dayton, NV to Reno, NV - I was going to get the 4-Door Wrangler.

I have had both 2 and 4 door wranglers, and I prefer my 2-door JL. I removed my rear seat and installed a tool box that is fastened in using the seat mounts in the floor. The only issue I have is the limited fuel capacity. My F150 has a 36 gallon tank and gets about the same fuel economy as my JL. On the other hand, my bladder has about the same range as the JL, so no problem!

For the black plastic I use 303 protectant. I also use it on lots of other plastic or polymeric materials such as rubber seals, wiper blades, and so on. It does wonders. I was able to get 3 years from a set of wiper blades instead of 1.25 years out of the previous (same model) set which didn't use the protectant. Also helps with the headlight yellowing

Good points. I would also add that a 2 door generally is more capable stock than a stock 4 door. The short wheel base doesn’t require giant tires or lift to get the belly clearance that 4 doors need on the trail. I still love my 4 door especially with a 4 inch lift and 37s. Also, love that I can take 4 buddies with their gear for a camp out.

I had a two door sport and a four door rubicon. My preference was the four door. It was a smoother ride in the corners and had a lot more cargo room. When you hit a bump on the back end with the two door, the back end goes flying. I got used to it but my passengers didn't like it.
If you are going to go off roading with the four door, you need 37s compared to the two door only needing 35s. I initially had the stock 33s on the Rubicon and kept getting high centered.

2 door 💯! 😂 I have the Willys (2024), which I upgraded from my previous VW Golf R, I never liked a 4 door on my R(my 2012 GTI was a 3 door, which I loved). But I have had this itch for outdoors, trail hunting, mountain bike hauling itch that my golf wasn’t capable of without strapping on a roof rack which I hate, a rear hitch would have been cumbersome. I’m 5’4” and the lack of room for 6’2” passengers like yourself just means ample luxury room for myself and the country trails I’ll be hitting. I love my Willys 2 door, it will be my last vehicle I own. 😂

I think you missed a critical question. "Better for what?" Regina seems perfectly happy with her choice because it meets her needs better than the four door. Other people have different needs and so the four door is better for them. More "road feel" with the two door is bad if you want a more comfortable drive, but good if you want to get out and have a more visceral involvement with the road.

I have never been able to find any tire pressure to get control of the “floating” sensation on the highway and around corners etc.
I give up: I’m leaving the diffs for the 37’s, but pulling them back off. I’m going back to the 33” on stock wheels.. maybe someday I’ll try 35”: but those 37” were too heavy.. one feels like you are driving out of control on-road with them; I’m done.
