One thing the xtool will do that the launch won't is pull pin codes and security codes to program keys. Other than that they both will do about the same. I have a launch x431 V+ pro and I tend to grab my xtool first.
Nicely done, on a different note/ question: Did Xtool ever fixed the O2 sensor's range on the graph? The range used to be kind of crazy way above the 0-1 volts
Do you need to be registered with NASTF/SDRM to be able to read the PIN codes for newer GM vehicles using this? I have two Buicks with the original key FOBs that I need to make spares for.
I have an Autel MS906TS and although I like it and that is what I use for TPMS programming if I had to do it over I would not have gotten a scanner with built-in TPMS because the updates are more expensive and you can get stand-alone TPMS programmers with lifetime free updates. If it was me I would get the D8W and the TP150. The D8W will have much better key programming capability. Right now both have discount coupons. However if you need FCA SGW the Autel will be the way to go. amzn.to/4gtQHUr amzn.to/3zy1axr amzn.to/3TrFOsf
So to be clear, we don’t have to buy the KC100 unit too? Everywhere I look about buying the D8W it says key programming but only with the KC100 purchase.
NO, you do not need the KC100 except for very difficult-to-program cars. I have programmed keys on GM, Ford, Chrysler, Toyota, Nissan, Jeep, and Lexus using only the scan tool. I have many videos showing me programming keys without the KC100.
I think the kc501 is much better than kc100. They are needed when no key is present. You also need ks1 for toyota and one for benz. I used d8s for 2007 buick lucerne to to all keys lost ( to deleye all keys), but had existing master key. It also let me do two remotes. You better have a battery charger, since some cars you have to wait 12m to an hour to do all keys lost.
@@SilvexPhoto I have 1 master key. I bought a 2016 Toyota Highlander fob (smart key) from Amazon and was able to use the D8W to program all functions (lock, unlock, hatch, panic) EXCEPT for the immobilizer. For some reason the D8W won't program my key to actually immobilize the vehicle. Does that mean I need a KS1?
Can I reprogram my Audi A4 key with the tool. I mistakenly done something on my Audi A4 and it say LO 1-1. on dash. Car start and shot down immediately. Can I solve the problem with ths xtool D8W?
4/20/24 found the D7W is available and at a great price, does anyone have experience using D7 instead of the D8, i heared the D7 with latest update is almost as capable to the D8 just wonder what are the minimal differences that ill be loosing..?

Granny 2022 equinox..
Thanks you ... ordering this scanner now .. she lost both keys ... 😪😪
Man im really debating between this xtool or a crp919xbt. I have use crp909 for years and never let me down but the topology of xtool is a plus

Xtool 100% all the way. It does more and the customer service help is way better. Longer update period too, and topology.
Nicely done, on a different note/ question: Did Xtool ever fixed the O2 sensor's range on the graph?
The range used to be kind of crazy way above the 0-1 volts
Yes they did. It is much nicer to use now.
Thanks@@737mechanic

NO, there is word that eventually it will be that way for newer vehicles but as of now you can.
Currently debating between d8w or mk808zts. Wish xtool would add a full featured tpms like autel on the d8w...

Thanks for your video! But did this way works with another cars like BMW or M. Benz ?
Yes, It pulls security codes from many makes and models.

I noticed at 1:36 it prompted to connect to the internet. Does the d8w need to be connected to the internet to to function?
Only to do certain special functions like pulling this security code. In most cases, you do not need to be connected to the internet.
Thanks @@737mechanic
Thanks for the video 👍

Hi there I also have the d8w xtool but the option for key programming does not show up
They changed the terminology to Immobilizer.
@@737mechanichi boss i purchased befor update immo was there then update it was gone

Hello, which is better to buy xtool d8w or xtool A80. for key programming. thanks
I think they are both equivalent to each other.
its the same with xtool D7
maybe...
@@SilvexPhoto Does xtools scanner can kill ecu ?
@@playstation2bigs any scanner can brick a ECU if the person does not know how to program an ECU.
Will it go a 2010 GMC Terrain
Yes

Some addons do not work on D7 series. Most key addons (KC100, KC501, KS1 etc etc) they do work on D8 series.
That was well done thank you
