@WARLORD op If I may interject, the Chancellor (and by extension his supporters) are more like the Nazi Party in that they subverted the existing constitution in order to seize power - if the analogy holds, the Republic is more like the Weimar Republic. I would also disagree with the idea that the Separatists were simply fighting for their freedom - you have to consider the type of freedom they were fighting for, which would have resulted in the exploitation of worlds by the large corporate bodies that formed the Separatist government - also, as I understand it, the Separatists legalised slavery in their territory, and the Republic did not - we have to ask the question about the Separatists (and any group claiming to fight for freedom): freedom to do what?

Sorry for taking a while to reply - I just wanted to thank you first for replying, as it is very enjoyable talking about this type of thing with someone, even if they disagree! :D Obviously you know more about the Republic's relationship with the Mid Rim and Outer Rim than me, although I would suggest that it was certain members of the Republic that treated the Mid and Outer Rims in this way - the anti-alien sentiment in the Empire did obviously come from somewhere, and the Empire obviously let people announce anti-alien views that they already held (and more people may have adopted these views to avoid Imperial inspection). I do feel that the Republic was not inherently anti-alien though, as it was necessarily incredibly diverse - we need only look at the scenes where we see the Senate, in which we can see all the wonderful alien designs that they came up with! And, given the organisation of the Republic, those shots represent only a snippet of the variety of peoples that lived in the Republic. So, to conclude, I feel that the massive variety of peoples in the Republic necessarily means that the neglect of the Mid and Outer Rims may be for other reasons - for instance, that they are simply not in the Core and Expansion Region (if I have my galactic geography correct :P - galactigraphy?) and/or are not focussed around the galaxy's major trade routes so they naturally have less focus. I was with friends watching TFA on opening day, and commented that TFA's intro felt "weaker and the music had less punch". That basically made me a bit uneasy until I had to play this intro and the new one side by side, coming out of the theater. Felt like I was on crazy pills.

I bought the soundtrack CD the day it was released in 2005 and for 14 years it’s bothered me how much this track was butchered on it. Instead of the drums, they sloppily edited in the music from when the clones show up in the middle of Grevious and Obi-Wan’s duel on Utapau. Thank you SO MUCH for uploading the REAL version! But where did you get it?!?!?
I could have sworn when this soundtrack was first released the main title, instead of drowning out, ended with a blaring brass hit going right into the force theme instead of the drums
