For the Republic! This is one of the my most ambitious themes ever, I worked hard on this one because I wanted to make it right. I really love the final result, and I hope that for you guys is the same! PS: If you wonder why I didn't include the tracks "Goodbye Old Friend", "Arrival at Utapau" and "The Chancellor Arrival", it's because I'm planning to use them for my definitive Obi-Wan Theme, since they are variations of the force theme and I think they fit better with his theme.
100% agree. Empire Strikes Back was one of the best movies but ROTS had the all-time best openings of any of the films. Between Williams's score and the amazing camera action, it was just and still is, breath taking.
@Justin Householder Cody is such a great clone too, but I have to say Rex is my favourite 😄✨ although if I could pick 2 favourites, I would chose both of them. They make a great team, especially during season one's episodes 5 "rookies" and 16 "the hidden enemy".
Sadly, no. The bridge(s) should be far more squat/closer to the hull of the ship. By having them that far up, it DOES give a higher field of view, true, but it also puts the command center of the entire vessel up in the air like a giant middle finger to the enemy, practically screaming, "Shoot me, bitch!" The vessel also has far too much open space that's not being used. Granted, it COULD be a problem with overall power generation from the ship itself, but the Venator does not have NEARLY enough weaponry for the mainstay capital ship of a galactic superpower. Especially on the dorsal section, it only had 8 turbolaser batteries. Aside from anti-starfighter-grade laser cannons, these were the general-purpose weapons of the vessel. A plus was that it could be customized to an extent, as we've seen in both the Clone Wars series and RotS. Anything from additional broadside weaponry to ventral-mounted SPHA-T turbolaser cannons. Problem is, these did not come standard. If they had, I wouldn't be talking about this part. Overall, it was a good ship, but what I'd consider to be an example of lost potential. The Imperial line that followed improved on some aspects while failing in others, so I could see this ship becoming more of a carrier than a capital ship. Let the Imperial-class handle the heavy lifting while the Venator provides support with its swarms of fighters and bombers, picking apart enemy starfighters with its anti-starfighter weaponry that the Imperial-class sorely lacks.
@@Donkey26 I could go into further detail, but suffice it to say that a good mainstay capital ship needs to have a strong mix of anti-fighter/bomber capabilities to at least attempt to protect itself, and very heavy guns/missile batteries for those slugfests against other capital-ship-grade vessels. Lack too much of either, and you get the Imperial-class (vulnerable to bombers) and the Venator-class (can be outgunned by other capital ships). If you're looking for a good example of a purpose-built capital ship, check out the MC-90 Star Cruiser. A healthy mix of turbolasers, ion cannons, missile batteries and tractor beam projectors with some of the strongest shields imaginable for a ship of that size, and a Class-1 hyperdrive to ensure it couldn't be outpaced easily.
@@sergeantassassin3425 ( quite late but oh well) Military spacecraft should not have exposed bridges at all. A better design is to have the bridge somehwere inside the hull, and using cameras and other sensors to see what's going on, but a lot of sci fi stories are guilty of this. Even though the Venator was better than Imperial ships since it has 2 bridges that could control the ship, so a lone A-wing kamikaze won't immediatelt destroy a massive ship, it should have no exposed bridge. Star Wars often goes with rule of cool over good design decisions, although Lucas himself described it more as a space opera than sci-fi because of how much it leans into the fiction part so I can't really get mad at them over this, the Venator does look cool. I feel like the Venator often wasn't used to it's main strength: fighters. The Venator was more of a carrier, so it should be hanging further back from the main battle, providing mostly a support role like you said. It should always have other ships as escort, since it does not have nearly enough weapons to defend itself on its own. Theres a reason modern carriers always have an escort accompanying them. The way it was used most of the time, it should have definitely been more like an ISD, adding more weapons and armor, and less fighters.

4:24 That break for the shuttle theme is one of the shortest, yet most moving pieces in the final episode of clone wars. I'm holding out that one day an extended version is created!
There’s something about the Republic’s theme, especially in The Clone Wars, seeing those beautiful ships coming out of lightspeed with the heroic theme playing in the background always fills me with hope
Another cue you could include would be “Goodbye Old Friend” from RotS. It includes bits where the clones are working in the hangar as Obi-Wan and Cody are bantering about the mission to Utapau. It also shows Obi-Wan taking off from the cruiser that’s stationed over Coruscant. Really great job! I love that you included the “Arrival on Kamino” cue!
I thought a lot about including Goodbye old friend in the theme, but it just fits much better Obi-Wan’s theme (which I’m currently working on), because the force theme is loud and clear there. The same for tracks such as “another happy landing”, “the Chancellor arrive” and “arrival at Utapau”. They just fit Obi-Wan much better.
Ever since i heard the initial theme of the battle of couruscant it had become my favorite theme and i always imagine the sky full of venators and republic ships duking it out against the separatist navy, may long live the republic navy and it's clone troopers
If I have a fleet of Venators I would probably name them as "Illustrious", "Victorious", "Formidable" and "Indomitable" after four Illustrious class aircraft carriers during the Second World War.
I would name a ship after a notable person--Lachhiman Gurung, the Gurkha soldier who single-handedly (and I mean this literally, since he did lose his hand during this incident) held off a platoon of Japanese soldiers.

Wow, at 11:29-11:33, you can hear what sounds like a music piece from the OT. Maybe Episode 4 or 6. It's like they were teasing us with that and then after 11:33, it went into prequel music. Not sure, though. Anyone else hear it?
@@Darceus2000 Yep, right at the beginning of this video (th-cam.com/video/N_XCBsOJHLU/w-d-xo.html), for just 3ish seconds. It is an octave higher than the original "Palpatine's Teachings". However, I still feel like it is in the OT somewhere. Logically, there is no reason to have a part of Palpatine's Teachings in Rogue One. Creatively, it would make sense to have that music in Rogue One if it was also in A New Hope (ANH). It's like the music is "transferring" from Rogue One to ANH, or something like that. Kind of like how they put Leia in at the end of Rogue One, so that the continuity is there, both logically and creatively. That's how I see the creative process of those couple bars of music. If I had to guess where the music is in ANH, I would say somewhere on the Death Star. There are roughly 76 minutes of music in ANH, but I don't have the time to go through it. I may as well just watch the whole movie again since I am still quarantined, haha. Good find man.
