I remember when someone said they bought a car for $100K most people would assume it was probably something like a Porsche, Lamborghini etc.. something in that class, but not a jeep wrangler or Ram 😂😂. Car prices are disturbing
Remember, those prices are from when we were at our worst. During the pandemic, everyone was suffering and hit hard. They smelled blood and were on us like sharks. They can rot for all I care. I haven't forgotten that we had to bail them all out in 2008. Then this is what we get for saving them with our tax dollars? Nah. Let them close dealerships. Let them lose billions. We won't be saving them again.
That's what happens when your prices have been rising at twice the rate of inflation for well over a decade. Cars aren't affordable anymore. In the mid 2010s they were selling 18M cars a year in the US, and they are down to 16M a year these days. No one cares if Dealers or Manufacturers are suffering. They brought it on themselves.
All I can think about is all those videos asking people who work at dealerships how much their car payments are, thinking it’s all cool to be paying $1876 a month for a damn vehicle. Shit getting real as hell out here on these lots.
The "chickens coming home to roost." These manufacturers and dealers are reaping what they've sown with their shortsighted greed. Nobody can afford to pay these inflated prices. And their inventory will ROT on these lots until they lower their prices.
I don't even look at used cars, the price for high mileage is laughable. You'll be a full to buy something now days, unless you got the money. The price of rent is keeping new buyers away.
Definitely, prices have to come down way more. Who is going to buy Hornet for 50k. Actually, prices have increased insanely in the last couple of years. Correction has to come. Meanwhile im going to stick with my 05 camry 😂.
Jeep Rubicon- $73,545. Good news! They will take the price down to $53, 525. Saving you $20k. Bad news!- Someone will opt to finance. 84 months (7 yrs) @ $861/month= $72,324. Essentially, that person will pay full price, but tell everyone they paid only $54K.
Had to circle back when I saw (3:09) that Jeep wrangler for $53,505 but with $500 down for $861 month @ 84 months 😂 OMG. That would total $72,324. Who is dumb enough to sign that contract?
I literally spit coffee out my mouth when I saw that black Tacoma (1:27) for sale at $59,622 😂 . That’s insanity. With taxes, title etc.. OTD you’re paying at least $65,000 for a mid size truck!!!! wtf? Tacomas are great but c’mon $60K? In 2019 a brand new Tacoma TRD Pro capped off at $42K
*_Car industry caters to the wealthy / very wealthy only. So the not so very wealthy just keep whatever wheels they have and stay away from the showrooms. Merry Christmas everybody!!_*
what people are looking for are the new 2025 or 2024 models at $20,000 or less. $100,000 is a house not 4 wheels that in 5 to 8 years its junk! you need the $200 to $250 monthly payments not $1,500 monthly payments! You need low payments for 3 or 5 years not 10!!!!! The way thing are no wonder repo's are so high. Back when it would be $200 a month for 36 months or 60 months people would pay off there cars or trucks and repo';s were hardly heard of.
I have 4000 bucks invested in two e-bikes with over 4000 miles on each of those bikes. I just replace brake pads cables that’s about it…tires tubes… I can carry groceries etc…I can door dash with them… I don’t have to buy a crap used vehicle I can buy brand new e-bikes every single yr
Hang on. New cars depreciate based on their mileage but also their age. A brand new 2023 today is worth less than a 2024 just because it's a previous model year and therefore not as desirable. Clearly, these dealers are all just a little high on something.
Serves them right People who wanted trucks bought one The rest of us drove our cars into the ground Now there's no choice but to buy an ugly Japanese car
@ Interesting comment. The C8 Corvette was marketed as an “affordable” sports car which turned out to be an actual super car starting at $60K not a $500K Ferrari. Sorry but I think you are missing the point? The prices are ridiculous for every car on the market and an average Joe who saves his money should be able to buy a C8 Corvette? By your logic a $100K piece of crap SUV shouldn’t be a “consumer vehicle” either. Who the hell has $100K plus for a stupid truck?
Don't waste your money on any Ford, GM or CDJR product if you are the type of person who keeps their vehicle for 100K+ miles or 8-10 years! There's just no real value in them. I'd even say that new Toyota models aren't even close to what they used to be. I've owned many Toyata over several decades most of them with over 200K miles. When im ready for my next vehicle I'll be looking towards Honda, Mazda maybe Subaru(I'm not a fan of the "boxer" i.c.e.) for my hard fought dollar. I don't have the income level for so called "luxury" brands and i would never spend that much on any vehicle.
I can’t find a good truck to save my life and these idiots have a lot full of them 🤣🤣🤣 at absolutely stupid prices they are literally like 50k too expensive for what they are
I searched all over my area and found a 21 Ram 1500 4x4 with a Hemi for less than 31k out the door. Low likes too. It’s an excellent truck. Just keep looking. A deal will present itself.
Look at M2 money supply/velocity, Reverse Repo, Treasuries, National Debt and you will realize that soon the global credit system will freeze. Without credit available EVERY dealer will close because 90% of their sales are credit sales. So FYI by end of December this will occur and every vehicle on every lot...new and used....will be available for the taking.
