Yes, I agree. The scalpers' claims that they are helping kids get gifts for Christmas is a bunch a bullshit. Those who scalp the next gen consoles are simply doing it to profit for themselves. I may get heat and haters from this, but people need to be realistic. I'm glad more retailers are fighting scalpers. How about this for those who want to buy from scalpers? I got scammed at least three times from scalpers on eBay, OfferUp, Stock X, Twitter, and Facebook. I paid them and one they got the money, they dropped communication. Anyone can pose as a seller, post fake pictures of their consoles, and then take other people's money after receiving payment then drop communication. Don't let this happen to you and don't think maybe scalpers are good.....they are not and they are using you as bait. Don't risk losing $3000 over fake sellers like I did. More consoles are being released week after week, so patiently wait for the next drops. If you fail to secure, learn from it, and become better prepared for the next drop.
Retailers are starting to say enough and allow only 1 per order per customer including online and in person, so that's a plus! Personally i am going to wait at least a year for all the initial bugs and other issues to get worked out.

A fair warning to anyone buying from scalpers, as far as I know the default warranty does not transfer to you so it breaks you are taking the shaft. You usually need proof of where you bought the console for them to honor it.

You are effectively buying the console second hand and guarantees are not transferrable. In the UK the retailer is liable for the guarantee not sony and only with the person who bought the console ! Buy from a scalper at your own peril !
This situation with the PS5 and Xbox Series X is really getting out of hand, there needs to be a two step process on sites like CAPTCHA when buying consoles to avoid the bots from scalping them.
Idk, I like what PS direct is doing more. You have to have an account and you can only get 1. On one Walmart drop, I got stuck in a fucking 30 minute captcha loop when I was literally one of the first people at the drop yet all of the real bots bought the entire stock immediately. That was some bullshit.

So I said if someone was really struggling like to put food on the table, running scripts and bots to secure multiple next gen consoles at $500+ apiece, which they would have to have the disposable income to purchase in the first place. That’s not truly struggling. Even if they took a loan or credit cards they would still have to wait to sell the system(s) which people who were starving they wouldn’t wait to sell systems to eat.... they would take the money they had and buy food. They're one of the only companies that are selling both the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 in their stores. That's how I was able to secure our consoles (fiancee and I) by waiting in line when the preorders went live. Edit* Demon Souls isn't that hard man... Addendum- Hey RGT, I waited in line for both the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 *physical disc edition! I waited for 14+ hours for our Series X and 9+ hours for our PS5. I had a chair, Mountain Dew, Switch, 3DS, and some games. I did it all old school and it was worth it. I'll take some XBLA and PSN cards....I'm joking. I did wait but the guy with the bed beats me hands down. ;)

And less people buying all the accessories to go with it. Sure they make money on the consoles, no matter who pays for them, but unless gamers are buying the games and accessories they will lose more money than they gain since they make more money on the games that people will keep buying, not the console they buy once (on average) per generation.

This made me think about 4 yrs ago, this guy approached my dad about some extra TVs that his boss told him to get rid of from a golf course up the road. He said they brought extra that they didn't need so his boss told him that he didn't care what he did, just get rid of them... he duped my dad out of $200 for some audio equipment surrounding the TV on the box.
When a group of scalpers say they spending tens or hundreds of thousands on products to try and double their money to "feed" their families my first thought is if they didn't spend all of their money on consoles to begin with they could afford to spend it on their families. If you have that much money to start with why risk spending it all in the hopes you will hopefully turn a profit when it may not work out and your family suffers more?

My cousin has been trying to get a ps5 and he got to walmart at 6:00 a.m. and got told that there was ps5 left but because he didn't have a ticket he couldn't have one then he got told to go to walmart online store and get it that way he can't because the online store is jammed with people trying to do the same and scammers so thanks for bringing this out to people.
I had accepted the fact that I wasn't going to get a XBSX this year & maybe next year I might've given in to the scalpers. My cousin texted at 7am but I didn't see the text until about 8:15 am & I was panicking thinking I missed it again but when I went to the target app luckily it was still there. I was able to pick it up the same day. This is what they should've done in the 1st place. You got a chance competing against the people in my small city than competing against the whole word. This would've stopped alot of the regular online scalpers

This made me think about 4 yrs ago, this guy approached my dad about some extra TVs that his boss told him to get rid of from a golf course up the road. He said they brought extra that they didn't need so his boss told him that he didn't care what he did, just get rid of them... he duped my dad out of $200 for some audio equipment surrounding the TV on the box.

Scalpers are still strong and in force, they're not going away anytime soon.
When a group of scalpers say they spending tens or hundreds of thousands on products to try and double their money to "feed" their families my first thought is if they didn't spend all of their money on consoles to begin with they could afford to spend it on their families. If you have that much money to start with why risk spending it all in the hopes you will hopefully turn a profit when it may not work out and your family suffers more?

My cousin has been trying to get a ps5 and he got to walmart at 6:00 a.m. and got told that there was ps5 left but because he didn't have a ticket he couldn't have one then he got told to go to walmart online store and get it that way he can't because the online store is jammed with people trying to do the same and scammers so thanks for bringing this out to people.

I had accepted the fact that I wasn't going to get a XBSX this year & maybe next year I might've given in to the scalpers. My cousin texted at 7am but I didn't see the text until about 8:15 am & I was panicking thinking I missed it again but when I went to the target app luckily it was still there. I was able to pick it up the same day. This is what they should've done in the 1st place. You got a chance competing against the people in my small city than competing against the whole word. This would've stopped alot of the regular online scalpers

I would love to see our retails have the balls to do this. I do not buy the BS that they can't control this through Walmart, BestBuy, Target, etc. Costco you couldn't buy it unless you were signed in as a member.
