- This video shows the full customization process of a die-cast 1:43 scale Opel Kapitan, from start to finish!
This Opel was built as a present for my dad and it replicates the Kapitan my grandpa used to own, which he also used as a taxi. My dad learned to drive on the same Opel and always mentions it when we're speaking automotive at home, so I decided to surprise him with a miniature version! The best thing, is that he Loved It!

@@KarlScaleModeling I referred that I has a similar emoțional attachment with the 504 as it was the first car my parents had. Unfortunately I don't have your restoration skills. I only film my models 😊

i restored an opel commodore A from dinky toys by myself and that was a hard challenge for my two left hands, but the result is aceptable
Hello there, sorry for my late reply. That's awesome, always great hearing about a restoration job. The Opel Commodore a is also a nice car, it has that American look which I really like. Nice choice 👍🏼👍🏼

I googled the term two left hands since I had never heard of it and now I can understand that you definitely did a great job handling such a small scale car and changing it's colour. Silver with black roof looks great on the Commodore, so great choice with the colour choice 👍🏼👍🏼

How did you put the glass back? Also do you have any tips on how to remove the rivets without the drill?
Hello there, the glass was put back in place using UV glue, where I placed several blobs in unseen places, gave them some exposure to UV light and they dry instantly.
Regarding the rivets, I don't know of any other procedure other than drilling them out. Trying to pull the chassis out of them without drilling is not recommended as it'll damage the chassis. I always see diecast guys drilling the rivets, so I'm guessing that's the best way to do it. Hope that helps 👍🏼
