    I had this Corgi toy. Mine was a dark blue. The lights were rare. If you put your finger across the back screen the front lights go out and the back lights go out if you put your finger across the wind screen. I couldn't tell if the painted back lights obscured the natural light coming through. Great restoration.

    I always wondered about why they made cheap interior for these types of corgi diecast cars and others etc.... and the smaller die-cast such as matchbox, and hot wheels a more realistic interior, and with the even older cars they didn't put any interior at all, and if any of the matchbox or hot wheels interior might fit any of the old cars that don't have an interior has anyone else wondered or not. 🤔

    • @LaziLowcollectables
      @LaziLowcollectables  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think the ones without interior were made in times where it didn't matter ,it was a toy nothing more .I agree that they could've make better interiors for those models because overall those were nice cars .

    That is a super weird design for the front and rear lights. If it were a hotwheels casting, the lights would be connected with the windshield of the car rather than have all the extra plastic. Although it turned out super nice, Lazi. I spotted a white one with Whitewall tires at a car show recently, it's a beutiful car

    When I was 7 or 8 yrs old I had one of these, so 1961-ish. Mine was gold colour. But you didn't do the fun thing! You have to shine a torch on the front and back windows! Hehe, because that lights up the head and tail lights!!!!!
    Sadly I lost my Riviera in the sand somewhere in the garden of our army officer's house in Aden. So I hope someone found it a few years later and enjoyed it. 😁

    I got one of these the moment it was out! The Saturday comics in the paper had a big colour ad for Corgi every week, and occasionally that meant a Monday bike trip down to Windmill Toys & Hobbies after school if something new and fascinating was being announced. American cars were especially exciting, and my brother went ape when they came out with a hatchback Ford Mustang. I was in awe of the light tubes that supposedly lit the head- and tail-lights in the Riviera. It was gold in the first release, incidentally.

    Did you just glue your baseplate back on. It wouldnt stay on without securing it. As you didn't appear to drill out your rivet pots, can only conclude that that is what you did. I've done 2 of these to date. Nice finish & colour on that yours. You did manage what i was afraid to do in polishing spoked wheels with a wire brush

    • @LaziLowcollectables
      @LaziLowcollectables  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I did glue it yes ,I try not to use screw.Till now I didn't have any problems with the glue.
      I've used the plasitc brush ,so it doesn't damage the wheel

    • @ianhow100
      @ianhow100 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@LaziLowcollectables I don't screw either. I start with a 1.6mm drill, finishing with a 2.4mm. 2.4 mm pop rivets & slid off the pin work just as well. They can come in varied lengths. Either glue as you did for very shallow posts or 6mm long for older models that have deep posts
