As a former mod of their channel, a business partner, and a customer support expert for Artesian Builds I'm glad Noah got this kick in the teeth. I feel bad for the other employees because most of them are really cool people that loved chat and put in a great deal of effort towards making great PCs.
But ultimately, Noah wanted to be Linus and eventually got noticed by him. But not as a peer... not as a fan... but as a d-bag on a meteoric rise to fiery dumpsterdom.

I always feel a bit sad when somebody with a small business (handful of employees at most) hands me a business card with CEO on it. It's such a sign of insecurity. On Family Feud (TV game show) back in the 1980s, housewives kept getting called Domestic Executives. I initially thought it was the women trying to big note themselves but it happened so often that I think the producers must have strongly suggested it. Over the years there have been other titles appropriated by the desperate to impress, including engineer and architect (despite not holding a degree in these professions) and it seems like half of everyone in the workforce is a manager of some kind. These days, a lot of young women seem to be "entrepreneurs", which I think means they sell photos of their feet and anus on LonelyFans.
Lot of title chasers out there, for some people it's pretty much all that matters.

Oh man, this story took me back to the 90's. A lot of companies similar to this came up about the time home PCs and the internet were taking off. They would claim to have some sort of special skills or tech(a lot of them did the "future proof PC" hustle). They ripped people off and sold them what were essentially low-end computers at outrageous prices. Most of them were gone with a year.

PSA: If any of you watching bought a PC from this failure of a company before this shit started CHARGE BACK YOUR PURCHASE. Gamers Nexus just dropped a video revealing that the CEO just last night fired all of his employees and put a freeze on all refunds as well as their business account being frozen by the state. That means the company is dead and is using your money to cover back end tax debt they owe.

Make sure you search for the comment on the Gamers Nexus video on how to do a chargeback properly. I forget the username of who it was, but there's really important details that can expedite it and prevent the claim from being rejected.

Fun fact: Noah had nothing to do with any of the written apologies that went out. His only 'apology' was him coming out of his little nook he lived in above one of the factories and doing that sorry excuse for a video. That was it. All the released statements and tweets were done by staff members and his team trying to fix the mess Noah left them. Then Noah locked them out of that account, deleted all of it as if hoping if it vanished all his issues would magically go away and started the 2nd round of downfall.
Noah is nothing but a momma's boy who never grew out of the womb. Mommy and daddy handle and give him everything he wants so no wonder why hes so detached from reality on how to handle people and why when thing's were no longer going the way he wanted he just bailed without care, because mommy and daddy will bail him out.
Let me see if I understand the issue. They offer a "discount" to you, they target people who are more popular than themselves, mark up the shelf-price of items bought from a retailer, and the end result is that YOU end up paying them an inflated price for a PC and also to do some advertisements for THEM. What are you talking about? Gundam literally said that he owns/owned a EVGA 3080. The early builds. He had enough money to pick up the most expensive consumer grade GPU on the market upon launch. Do you even realize how much money 3080's cost? And you're playing off the "Gundam is broke" meme? Don't get me wrong, I like Gundam (I liked him more when he wasn't a slave to TH-cam and refused to dance to their tune), but he's not broke. Dude owns his own house. Is able to buy super expensive Gundam models, is able to kit out his PC with the highest end parts available.

As someone who's in the market for a new PC, I'm glad this came to light before I made any purchases. Also from what I'm hearing Artesian build quality is dubious at best, with one youtube tech guy stating he's had to repair more Artesian builds than any other custom built brand.
Supposedly the customer PCs are better quality than the streamed builds or the "influencer" ones. Since the customer PCs are built on the east coast rather than the Twitch location in CA
We fix them all the time when customers bring them in from issues from power supply failures.

I built my own in 2016 following a list from PC Gamer. Still works well to this day, although I may consider upgrading my CPU.

It's pretty amazing how quickly people can pile up on someone or something to destroy it. I mean, not many have heard of or cared about this company until now and suddenly everybody had insider info, investigated the case and canceled them. If society would be half as effective in solving its problems (the actual ones, not twitter-problems) we would achieve enlightenment within a decade.
I edited it out, but there was a SEA and I mean SEA of people on twitter going after them. From what I was able to learn over a few days AB has had a bad track record with builds & jerking around small streamers. I guess this giveaway stream was the last straw & it all came down hard.A lot of the inside info was leaked from disgruntled workers, I guess if I was working for a dude driving a supercar hitting me up for loans to keep the business going I'd squeal too.

Well, it's easy to have a PC cost a lot if you mark up everything by amounts that Alienware and Apple would call excessive.
Because if you go with normal retail prices, a PC that costs upwards of 40 grand is kinda hard to pull off, at least with regular consumer-level parts. You'll have to look into specialized hardware for servers and/or scientific calculations, semi-professional video editing and 3D rendering, and the like.
And you wouldn't get your money's worth unless you actually did all that stuff, since most games won't get any use of your 4 threadrippers, 1TB RAM and 4 graphics cards.
The only other options I see are crypto-mining (if you count a big shelf full of GPUs connected to a PC as one PC), go completely bonkers SSD storage (though again your average consumer-level mainboard can only accommodate so many SSDs) or spending insane amounts of money on a custom case that will do nothing for the computer's performance and just look expensive.

All I can say is for that money I had better be getting enough hard drive space to run my own Netflix and store every game ever made.
@@Mattfromthepast I doubt that would be enough money, even if you stick to HDDs (which are fine for video, not necessarily for modern games).
Netflix had, at one time, a library of 3 petabytes or so (dunno if that is still accurate, but let's go with that). That alone would more or less eat up your budget in HDDs alone. And now you have a couple hundred HDDs all full to the brim with video, you can't just get a regular PC and cram them all in there. You'll need a couple of cabinets with datacenter hardware to properly house that stuff.
And then there's also the games. I can't even begin to guess how much space you'd need to save ALL of them, but considering that recently, many games have been 100GB or so in size, you'd need quite a bit more space for that.
And of course you'll want some sort of backup for all of this stuff.

I think the example they were using was some crypto-mining thing with lots and lots of graphics cards. But it was likely still overpriced, since that's how this guy operated.

Well I love you. I was at my cousin's the other day and he had you up on his screen. It's A Gundam!! We both love your voice and your takes.
"Legally start or defend a legal action" --- This is the real one that matters. The business can literally not try to defend themselves in court or go after anyone that tries a frivolous action against them. All you have to do is bury the company in legal claims right now that they legally cannot defend against and make it financially impossible to try to recoup the losses after the tax issues are solved. Make them owe millions now and they won't have the money to try to sue you for it back when they can legally operate again. All of the rest of the restrictions are mostly just to make sure that the owners can't just liquidate and run, but not being able to legally defend yourself means anyone with a claim that sounds halfway legitimate will get a default judgment ezpz.
Yeah, that sounds fucky too be honest. I don't like that is how the law works, they should at least have the chance to defend themselves, and not have their lives completely ruined. They maybe scumbags, maybe not. I have no idea myself, but everyone should have the chance to at least be able to defend themselves.
So they can’t use the company to sue, but the two goons in the video can use their own money/assets/reputation.
Basically, the lack of license means they can’t tie a finding to the doll any and then run the company through bankruptcy, close the company, and then walk away.
They have no out other than personal bankruptcy and spiking their personal credit score and ability to get loans of any sort going forward.
So do exactly what the government does to small/ gun business, I don’t get you guys who want us to destroy slimy companies by using tyrannical/authoritarian means, people like you are just as bad without realizing it
@@heroicbannana8605 tax person here. So, it doesn't mean what people think it means. Essentially, most people like having an LLC, inc and etc (legally registered in a state of formation), because it offers the members of the entity (dumbass owner) protection against lawsuits and tax collectors coming after them personally. When that forfeits...until they get reinstated, for the period of forfeiture they lose that protection, meaning a person can go after the actual members / owner. They also technically can't operate with a sales permit (depending on the state) or they can be fined daily.
A lot of new business owners fuck up their franchise tax. Every year, near the end of the year, my office is flooded with people realizing they don't know what they're doing. I have a lot of people that just end up owing late fees and paperwork, but then you have people that end up owing thousands. He could be either or, the state treats them the same until they file (if he didn't), and pay.

But hey, who cares if a gaming PC is functional as long as it looks cool and has a disgusting amount of RGB. I'm sure Amouranth can afford to pay a scalper for a new graphics card when the one in her rig bursts into flames.
I understand that many buyers just look at specs but I’d think a “custom” pc company would put some effort into temperature regulation. What’s the point of putting a monster engine into a car just to let it overheat.
@@abdellahsbaa3751 That and nobody changes their coolant or thermostat. One of the reasons I'm happy my car has a timing belt. Water pumps are replaced as part of the service and it necessitates draining the old coolant. I did the thermostat as well when I did mine for good measure.
As for PCs, I just used an old microATX case I had lying around and left the side cover off. Fantastic airflow. I can't stand the look of all that RGB.

@@abdellahsbaa3751 A good example would be this guy in my area selling a custom PC in an expensive Corsair case with like 10 RGB fans, a tablet for some reason between the mobo and front intake (with a fan or two peeking out from behind it), 8GB of cheap RAM, cheap mobo, small capacity spinning hard drive, goofy looking RGB cooler, but no CPU or GPU... states the reason for selling is because he ran out of money to finish the build 😂

30:32 thats a sound of a power supply that cant handle the power draw. it happens when you put a bunch of parts which draws more power than your power supply can handle. Thats power supply is basically struggling and soon will explode. it has to be replaced soon.

There were never bum EVGA cards outside of the ones that had issues with power delivery due to bad solder joints. That wasn't overheating issues, that was "Card blows up" issues.
To paraphrase one of my favorite TH-camrs "a 19 year old fast-food worker has a better sense of good customer service than Artesian Builds does"
With just a slight bit of research, you can build your own PC. It's actually quite fun. Built several myself.
The excitement you get from slapping these babies together is comparable to your first car mods on a Honda civic you bought for 500$

When the government suspended their license in California they are legally prohibited from disbanding the company, selling the company or company assets, Doing business, or doing any such thing until their Tax situation is resolved
HOWEVER, because their license is suspended they technically (Legaly) do not own their name anymore so ANYONE can acquire their company's name and use it, and even IF (By some miracle) they get out they are OUT OF LUCK!
Furthermore, they well may be facing Fraud charges for changing the rules of their sweepstakes midstream (doing that is illegal, you CANNOT change the rules of the game in the middle of the game)
(If you have been cheated by them you may want to be on the lookout for a Class Action Lawsuit)
FURTHERfurthermore, when they changed the rules midstream they may have accidentally made it an *Illegal Lottery,* (Illegal in all 50 states and a Felony in many of them) And they may be in court for THAT soon too! (Most states take Lottory laws VERY seriously)

As a North Carolina resident, I can confirm, yes our taxes are lower than LA county.
I managed to short my last build. Fortunately it was just the case LEDs.
I was trying to wire the controller up to the motherboard, but it wasn't working out for me. I know what I was missing now, thanks to a fan LED controller, but I absent mindedly plugged this one into a 12v pin and fried it all the way to the switch.
So that's on my shopping list somewhere down the line. Still looks nice with the rest of it

I have build a PC two and a half years ago. The GPU, an EVGA 2080TI FTW3 lasted exactly 2 hours before going all "space invaders" artifacts on me.

This happens all the time, a brand company evaluates you to see if you are a viable option. I guess this was there first taste of being a content creator. I lose jobs in a similar fashion to this all the time. It's a part of the game. It's not all sunshine & rainbows with little angel kisses for lunch. It's a swift kick in the balls sometimes.

The EVGA thing was not EVGA's fault. There was a problem with a specific game title that was causing the voltage on the card to spike quickly. Gigabyte had some cards fall victim to it too.
