1994 - 2001 Yamaha YZ125 - Clutch Rebuild | Fix Your Dirt Bike

- How To Service The Clutch On Your 94-01 Yamaha YZ125. You can remove and install your clutch through the clutch cover, but since I’m doing a full engine overhaul, my right crankcase cover was off during install.
Before you start:
- Outline the clutch cover bolt pattern on a piece of cardboard and transfer your bolts from your engine to the cardboard as you go.
- Everything will be covered in oil, so have baggies and towels ready.
- Drain your oil.
- Put your bike in first gear.
- Disconnect your clutch cable.
- You will need a clutch holding tool to loosen and torque the center nut safely.

Clutch Specifications:
Spring Free Length - 38.1mm
Friction Disc - 2.7mm
Clutch disc - 1.2mm
Center Bolts - 59 ft-lbs
Spring Bolts - 88 in-lbs

Your clutch takes a constant beating, and a thoroughly cleaned and inspected clutch can save you a lot of money, so don’t get lazy.
You might find that the clutch pack is in good shape, or you could find a cracked clutch basket just waiting to break and destroy your engine.
If any component is damaged, worn out, or out of spec, you will need to replace it.

Does a yz 250 2001 engine fit in a yz 125 2001 I was wanting to put a 250 in my 125 thanks I have learned so much from you I have rebuilt my engine only trouble I had was the clutch was engaged all the time but it was warp discs thank you saved so much money
this was an amazing video! i actually rebuily a yz125 and there are a few issues that i just couldnt figure out. 1. the gear shifter moves kind freely with some type of clicking, so basically it doesnt go i to gear

Hey I was riding today and that part where the cable connects and there's that little spring came loose and my clutch lever was no use.
Ok my 1994 yz 250 I was jumping and then I notice my dirt bike wasn’t moving with any gas throttle so I tried to down shift and nothing happen what Does that mean
This was very helpful. I am going to be replacing my kickstarter tomorrow and need to remove the entire clutch basket to get to it, is there a certain way to remove the clutch line I cant figure it out

Hey man I just used your clutch install video for the 1994-2001 YZ125 to reinstall my clutch on my 99. I did everything exactly as you did it but when I put the clutch cover back on and connect the clutch cable to the clutch release thing that moves the push-piece there is zero tension in the clutch lever

Oh nice! Ok, yeah I finished it up last year but lack of income makes it hard to get anywhere to actually ride. I took it to Colorado last August, but I gave up trying to jet it right to run above 11,000 feet. Why screw with it when I have an FI 450 and my KTM with a Lectron ya know?
