Or if you're a budget rider u can also use a non-expensive piece of masking tape and cone it around the end of the cable hold upwards an insert lube...
Your incredible your videos are so informative and detailed. What you have been through and still managed to push forward is outstanding. I am suffering with chronic kidney disease and am finding it hard but I've raced all my life and like you want to keep the dream alive so I also have started a full restoration on a 04 cr250. I've followed your cr 250r build and you really have inspired me.
Good video as usual I prefer the split block type cable luber, its cheap as chips and is pretty quick to fit and remove but they can leak so wise to wrap a rag around it when spraying the lube in. I also use silicone lube on cable or some such lube that sets dry in the cable, oil lubes can tend to attract dirt.
One Works Connection lever $160 = OUCH! Been using the Moose Easy Pull system for 2 years now on my YZ without a problem, works great and has 3 levels for adjustment. I payed less than $40 for mine at Rocky Mountain MC/ATV.
Hey I just wanted to say thanks for these videos man. Coming from a background where I didn't have a mechanically inclined dad it helps a lot having someone knowledgeable explain stuff and show it to me.
One easy trick if you dont have tools like this or a shop to buy one in a hurry. Buy some heat shrinking tube and side it over the grommet, heat it tight around the metal endcap and pour some lube of your choice into the tube. You can push the lube through with compressed air or a big syringe :) You can also clean the wire up if you spray some brake cleaner through the cable first.
Great informative video as usual! Your Chanel is helping me rebuild a 1997 yamaha yz 250. I've already put your Scotch-Bites to work cleaning parts. Any videos on blue 2 stroke bikes would be much appreciated!
Can you do a video on how you remove stuck on gaskets. Specifically on really old bikes. Another video idea for you is explaining handlebar bends, I'm clueless in that area.
I love the simplicity of all your videos man, that's what originally attracted me to your channel. Everything is explained in detail and the clarity of your videos is without a doubt the best! I've recommended your channel to numerous people who have needed help with certain issues! A big two thumbs up goes to you and your channel. Oh and i needed to watch this video again because I'm gonna lubricate my cable this afternoon! As always #Camstrong
One thing Cameron didn't mention is the clutch lifter arm if it is worn where it pushes on the clutch lifter rod and the pivot point where the cable connects also gets worn it makes a huge difference in the clutch pull he spoke on the lifter arm bearing but not the arm it's self
There is another easier system on top of Hydraulic clutch. That is the One Light Clutch by Clake. It is not the same as the easy clutch or left hand brake by Clake. That one is just mechanical advantage, which just means you can adjust it so that your pull is longer. The One Light Clutch is a hydraulic clutch, like Magura, but if you are still having a stiff clutch it's the next level. It is a big spring that is offset and you can tighten it how much you want. So when you start to pull the clutch, the spring helps you by adding additional tension so your pull is the same distance unlike mechanical advantages. It can really reduce your clutch pull significantly.
My grip is almost non existent due to tennis elbow. I was considering flipping the perch so I can push the clutch in instead of gripping it. Street bike, so clutch control not that critical to riding.
New fibres and steels in my clutch with the old genuine springs. Lubed the clutch cable and greased lever in perch. Now its as smooth as a gravey sandwich.
I've been thinking about buying a hydraulic clutch kit with a slave cylinder for my CBR600 because the clutch is quite hard to pull. But the more i think about it, the more i begin to think that i've just gotten used to a 125cc clutch and not used a 600cc that much, so i might just be weak af. I might have to try and lube the cable again.
I installed a Magura Hymec hydraulic line. But because I'm a crappy mechanic the engine burned through it... thankfully home was mostly downhill or I would have been stranded! Nothing beats running beside a bike to get it up to speed and then in gear (at stop lights no less).
Is the bike that you are restoring done?i can't find the finish video of that bike. Im sick of watching the series video of that bike. My time watching every video of that bike is worth! God bless and keep up the good videos!
Wow that is amazing. I’ve seen another Motion Pro tool for lubing the cables. Thank you ! This helps tremendously! What do you do with the rags after you’re finished. Wash in the washing machine you wash your clothes in ??? Do you use specific detergent or do you wash them by hand 🤚?
You know, I love Honda’s but those dam Honda kill switches suck. Every single Honda I have owned, the switch rubber rips right off of the switch bracket. I now upgrade all switches to the Yamaha style. BTW great vid 👍
My clutch arm gets pulled a little when i turn the handlebars to one side, my clutch has plenty of slack and all the points where i can adjust it are on the shortest setting, I'm adjusting the clutch cable from the lever and when pointed in one direction it is too lose but when i turn my handlebars it is too tight
My clutch basket is grooved. Fixing to replace that along with clutch and fibers. It's annoyingly tight. Might even throw a hydro or an ez pull lever. I've had a tight left forearm for 3 weeks since my last session where I forced myself to keep riding beyond the fatigue.
One is simply increasing the leverage with these gadgets. The ignored and dangerous outcome is that for the same lever travel, the clutch plates may not disengage cleanly when the lever is pulled. Might result in poor shifting, depending on the bike. The same outcome can be achieved by using a longer clutch actuator arm.
Good video Cameron I will have to try that motion pro luber. I tried their other type with no success it just made a big mess. How are you doing Cam I hope all is well with you.
I built an 85 ATC200x that has alot of spare parts with it including a clutch basket with notched fingers and one was even broken! Wonder what that action must have been like...
Not something really hard to do, but that bearing on the pivot of the lever surprised me. I don't know a single brand here in Argentina that sells something like this. Btw, nice video quality, as you always do.
Sure, grease up your pivot points on the levers.... until you have a wife and kids and then you are lucky if you have time to clean your air filter lol. I have the Magura clutch system, it really improves the clutch pull but for dirt bikes (I have a 2017 yz250x) it is almost impossible to setup properly and the actuation does not seem to be enough to fully disengage the clutch plates, I kind of got it working, end up getting a clake one system and I am waiting for it to arrive in the mail. To me a light clutch is number one priority above anything else. By the way, tech support from Magura consists on ignoring your emails so be-careful about recommending their system.
Unfortunately, I was injured in the military, and so no amount of "hit the gym" will fix my clutch pull body mechanic problems. Still want to ride, and my Honda CB1100 hydraulic clutch has quite a strong pull requirement to it...
I took my brake lever bolt out to grease it and now it will not fit back in. I didn’t change the lever or try to put in a new bolt. I’m very confused and frustrated because it made a 2 minute job already 1 hour and I still haven’t figured it out
Hey cameron, as someone with smaller hands, how would you adjust the lever to stay closer to the handlebar? It says on the website you can just that but I just don't see how its done. Thanks
What'd you do this past weekend everyone? I found myself in the back of a cop car during a golf cart parade hahaha oops
Cameron Niemela that sucks
I went riding on my kx85
Cameron Niemela can you send me a link to were you got your plastics?
Cameron Niemela why don't you build 250s motor ?
How do you make your clutch grab sooner?
"If all else fails hit the gym" lol nice man
Or SWITCH HANDS 😂😂
If anyone wants to learn about Jesus Christ reply
Or if you're a budget rider u can also use a non-expensive piece of masking tape and cone it around the end of the cable hold upwards an insert lube...
Who are the 6 idiots that gave his video a thumbs down? His videos are textbook, no one better on youtube -its like hes teaching a class for free
Probably 4-stroke scooter boys that think this video is insulting them :)
eamh2002 or KTM users who have hydraulic clutch :P
Never trouble yourself with such things except to make a positive comment.
There's 38 thumbs down go fig .
52
Never thought of that. I'll try using my right hand to clutch next time my left hand gets tired!
Your incredible your videos are so informative and detailed. What you have been through and still managed to push forward is outstanding. Even that this is 5 years old, it is perfectly what I was looking for. Couldn't find anything such useful. Million Thanks:)
Good video as usual

Yeessss I need this my clutch is stiff as a rock
Lubing up the cable and bolts really helped, it took me 2 fingers to pull in the clutch and now I can pull it in with my pinky finger👍

Cameron, your "how to" videos are exceptional. Well done.
I have a 2004 cr250r and want to see more of your build man!!!
Im so happy that I found your video's. The passion that you have for the work that you do truly inspired me. Thanks for your great video's.
Great informative video as usual! Your Chanel is helping me rebuild a 1997 yamaha yz 250. I've already put your Scotch-Bites to work cleaning parts. Any videos on blue 2 stroke bikes would be much appreciated!
Thanks Adam!

Great ideas!
Yes please explain handlebar bends.
Thanks for the tips dude now I have a smooth clutch and want more crf 250 build
I'm a shifter kart guy and you videos help me so much keep them coming
Rest in peace cam, absolute legend.

im new in the dirt bike world , and you're helping me a lot with your videos, new sub :)
Best in depth how to videos ive ever watched so far.. 😊😊
thank you this video really helped because my klx125 i have to use my whole hand!
One thing Cameron didn't mention is the clutch lifter arm if it is worn where it pushes on the clutch lifter rod and the pivot point where the cable connects also gets worn it makes a huge difference in the clutch pull he spoke on the lifter arm bearing but not the arm it's self
In my room cause of lockdown
Can You make a video about stiff hydraulic clutch what the cause is? Sorry for bad english
JustJustinNL air in the line

Opferman Motors Dirtbiking it's crazy expensive and you need a hydraulic clutch to begin with. I looked into getting one...
Otima dica, Cameron! Admiro muito seu trabalho, você poderia me levar do Brasil pra trabalhar com você, ser seu ajudante. rs Congratulations!

This has been the best video on this topic so far thank you!!
Totally hit those links for the lube tool and lube plus grease thanks brotha I was in need of this
Im loving all the vids dude! Really helping all of us out! But I’d love to see the build vids come back up
Is the bike that you are restoring done?i can't find the finish video of that bike. Im sick of watching the series video of that bike. My time watching every video of that bike is worth! God bless and keep up the good videos!

Thanks for watching man! I just toss the rags once I'm done. They're just old clothes that I cut up but you could definitely wash them!
Super helpful and easy to follow.
Estou encantada com esse cara “cameron niemela” muito inteligente 🤓 estou aprendendo muito coisa 😍 🇧🇷
Finally a good video on this topic
good job men!
but why you didn't greased inside the clutch cable after the lube cleaning ?
or it's ok just with the lube ?
You know, I love Honda’s but those dam Honda kill switches suck. Every single Honda I have owned, the switch rubber rips right off of the switch bracket. I now upgrade all switches to the Yamaha style.
BTW great vid 👍
Do you replace those side case gaskets every time you remove them? Or do you re-use them.
Great to know these things for when I get my bike, getting crf 125 or 250 not sure yet.🇮🇪👍👍
Stephen Byrne I’d say an 80 2 stroke or 125 two stroke for your new bike an 150r is perfect but a 250 is really big man
Rj Rj yes probably a 150 sounds better.👍🇮🇪
My clutch arm gets pulled a little when i turn the handlebars to one side, my clutch has plenty of slack and all the points where i can adjust it are on the shortest setting, I'm adjusting the clutch cable from the lever and when pointed in one direction it is too lose but when i turn my handlebars it is too tight
mine does the same thing
My clutch basket is grooved. Fixing to replace that along with clutch and fibers.

Sweet Video Cam, thanks man, I'm going to apply these tips today.
Would like to see a KX250 build. Great videos, keep em coming.
Love your channel valuable resource! You should teach a hands on maintenance and repair class right out of your shop.
IF you put so much grease into clutch perch, it accept dust very quick. Isn't it?
I got a cable by all balls and it works pretty good
Thanks man...VERY informative! Know what to do to MY clutch situation now!
Bro im dying to see another 250 video can't wait bro!!👍✌🏁🔩🔧
Please do a tutorial on a sticky throttle, love ur vids!
Good idea!
I haven’t watch the video yet so I don’t know if he brought this up but putting good oil in your bike it’s a good part of it use mobile 1 oil
I really need to check out my cable. I have to use almost 4 fingers to pull it in.
I got a race clutch with some hard springs it’s a 4 finger clutch pull it’s hard after a couple hrs I have arm pump got a new cable too
Not something really hard to do, but that bearing on the pivot of the lever surprised me. I don't know a single brand here in Argentina that sells something like this.
Btw, nice video quality, as you always do.
Thanks!
What year is your CR125?
Great video bro, I will def checkout some of these tips next time I wash up my bike
Thanks man!

So much info.... Immediately subscribed
nice video again...
should mention ...dont use chain lube for lubing your cables...since the lube will get sticky...
greetings from germany ;)
You should update the link to the model of clutch you like. I would like to buy this.
Thanks for another helpful video bro.
you sure a notched basket will affect clutch pull? seems like the pressure plate is going to release the same wether or not the plates stick
Is there a budget friendly version of that lever?
What about the clutch rod and actuator thing lol? Love your vids btw
What clutch lever is that? I like the adjuster
Can you do a video on how to pull your brake easier
thank you for this video! finally a video that shows everything!!
Unfortunately, I was injured in the military, and so no amount of "hit the gym" will fix my clutch pull body mechanic problems. Still want to ride, and my Honda CB1100 hydraulic clutch has quite a strong pull requirement to it...
Nice work very helpful
Hey, do you think you will ever go to horn rapids in Richland? You should ride/race there and have a fan meet up.
I'd love to some day!
Bonjour Cameron ! Verry nice video ! My TM 125 is full hydrolic ! 😉 ! Excellent day for you ! 😉 💨 💨 💨 !!!...
Could you maybe make the same video but with a hydraulic clutch
After years of gripping things furiously with my clutch hand i find the stiffest clutch to not be a problem
What’s up with the Cr 250 build ???
Cr250 build please
Nice presentation.
switch hands lmao. Great vid always, super informative, to the point, and well thought out
Hahaha thanks for watching!
Cameron where's the cr250 build at?
I took my brake lever bolt out to grease it and now it will not fit back in. I didn’t change the lever or try to put in a new bolt.
I’m very confused and frustrated because it made a 2 minute job already 1 hour and I still haven’t figured it out
When you gone finish the cr250 engine build?
Buy a Magura USA hydraulic clutch assembly 👍 ...no more adjustments needed and pulls easily
Make more vids on the cr250
The hydraulic clutch on my husky pulls real hard. Any suggestions?
Hey cameron, as someone with smaller hands, how would you adjust the lever to stay closer to the handlebar? It says on the website you can just that but I just don't see how its done. Thanks
Rest in peace brother 👊🏼
You da man. That was superb. Thanks.
You actually got me off my butt to lube my clutch lever. Not even close to one finger use but a bit better
great tips as always
Is there any other thing u can use apart from cable lube because I don’t have any like crc or something
