Thanks! I have a pool on predator and this was pretty close…fuels return was in a different spot and the throttle control was a cable directly to the throttle, but rest was the same. Appreciate it!
Thanks buddy! I got my carb swapped out and adjusted today (09-11-24) thanks to your video.
thanks buddy you make it easy and simple.Bravo
Watched your vid, bought the parts and tool kit. Changed carb, bulb, filter and lines today plus adjusted the carb (per your other vid) and it all works great! So thanks you. BTW, I noticed how you ran the T-25 screws back in. With the metal screws going into plastic, there are already threads created when first assembled and you run the risk of rethreading the holes so here is a tip to preserve the original threads. Insert the screw and turn counter clockwise until you hear a slight tic or thunk. This is the start of the original thread. Now you can run the screw in without tearing up threads. The fastener will hold better and your customers will never have an issue with the screw walking it’s way out. This applies to all metal fasteners into plastic. Enjoy!
lol
I grew with david about the linkage,it didn’t show you hooking it upbutit was opening and closing when you finished what gives, something you not showing us
Wish the camera view was better positioned to show what was going on.
Although this video didn't answer all my questions, it was helpful to fix my chainsaw of the same model. Thank you. 👌 I bought mine for $20 and ordered the same kit for $15. It runs now. The only think I'm trying to improve now is cold starts. After a cold start it starts first pull. 👌
there is no improving cold starts on a poulan. you just keep poulan it till it starts. see what i did there!
@@smallengineguys lololol. Damn I have the poulan pro, I guess you gotta be a poulan pro.
or keep poulan till the PRO fanity spews lol
@@smallengineguys hahaha. Or until you PRO pel it into the garbage can I guess.
@@smallengineguys lol that's a good one. I commented on another one of you Poulan saw videos about the bar oil leaking a decent amount. I have this exact saw. I ended up taking the metal plate that goes over the oiler area and put it back on and tightened the cover down and it slowed down considerably. I also got a different bar oil I was using STP. THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR HELP AND RESPONSES TO MY QUESTIONS. KEEP UP THE AWESOME WORK
What carburetor kit do I use
Good video. Got lines on. But can't get the off switch to work. Do you have a video on how to put the off/on switch spring back into proper alignment? Thanks
No, sorry. you can choke it off as well. it wont hurt.
small engine guys where can I find a new coil for this model everything i find does not have the same wiring coming from the coil. oem has 2 embedded a red and black coming out of coil.
How should I store the saw. I used non ethanol and ran dry and still jacked up carb where it floods so bad I can't start it. Used it once. I'm debating getting an echo or Stihl but don't need the expense right now but do need a saw on occasion. Great video. Might want to invest in a go pro or something cheaper.
so a 2 stroke has diaphragms that will dry rot if empty. i empty all the fuel and fill with a thin oil like sea foam then prime it up with the oil to store. don't use wd40 it dry rots the hoses. when you need it again drain the oil out fill with fresh brand new gas and prime out the oil. run enjoy. here is the oil i use amzn.to/3DMkYKc
I have a PR4218. the piston cylinder burned out. I can not find it on sale. Is PP4218 the same?
yes
@@smallengineguys thank you!
Good video if you could see what he’s doing
Great person if you weren't such a twat waffle
how do I put a throttle linked in the card
is this a zama? looks like the carb on the poulan pp4218 i have. just ordered a pr4218 and want to make sure the gaskets i have will fit.
same same
I need a new rubber boot! I can’t find one in any diagrams to get a part #
Suggestions? The rubber is split on one end about 1.5 inches
Eak! Its called an intake im not seeing one anywhere
Very good information. Unfortunately, some of the things I really needed help with was when you had the camera pointed too low and all we could see was the handle or lower end of the pliers or whatever. (I had the same problem you did with the second part of the carb was bolted onto the carb instead of separate.
I have more than one video on these saws. This is my earlier videos. Ive gotten better but have only been trying to help people threw youtube for 2 years.
@@smallengineguys I appreciate it. Just a few things I had to check elsewhere to be sure I got it.
@@smallengineguys You do a Fantastic fucking job bro!!! Because of your channel and Home Garage you guys have helped me fix my equipment
@@garyalensr thanks man glad I could help.
Hey so.... update on the hard starts. It seems as though I've been flooding my saw. hehe. I did some working on it and made sure it was try in the cylinder then added a tiny bit of carb cleaner, then it started up fine. Tomorrow I gotta go through a start up without using the primer bulb.. Gonna try to make sure the cylinder is on the dryer end. :)
prime just dont over prime also full choke only for a few pulls first try no choke but partial throttle. pulling choke out then pushing it back in gives partial throttle as soon as you touch the trigger it releases
@@smallengineguys I just tried starting it this morning started first pull. Didn't use anything just pulled. 👌 Gonna let it sit for a two days, and try again. Haha. Thanks for the tips though. That does sound like what I need basically. 😂
Do you know where I can buy the top piece of the carburetor
Any small engine shop might have a junk carb laying around but a new carb in the description with hoses filters is 20 bucks
I bought one from the description I guess when I took of the old carburetor I must have broke the plastic piece that works the throttle the new carburetor works but I can't use the original air filter assembly thanks for responding
@@johnminiard4205 look at min 3:50 it shows how to make this work
@@johnminiard4205 ahhh wait. So this is an issue. You can use the new top piece but you may need to alter the air filter assembly
@smallengineguys I got that but I can't reuse my original upper carburetor part the plastic piece broke off is there away I can send you a picture
i watched the video, very helpful, however, my pr4218 has a different linkage set up for the top butterfly valve. The video shows him just having to reconnect the throttle linkage. I had to dismantle a secondary upper linkage and then when I have the regular throttle linkage hooked back up there is a bracket on the intake that is blocking the the throttle from opening totally up and the linkage for the upper section won't move the upper butterfly valve. Anyone else have this problem?
You have to shorten the linkage rod. Just snip a touch off so it clears the plastic
Same here wha doi do
Currently struggling with this!!
Great video
Thanks for the visit
Dang man. I need the intake boot but had a hard time finding one. Actually found one on ebay, but I'm gonna see how my saw runs without a new one. Lol. It's $15 on ebay. I got my carb kit on the way, don't know if I really wanna spend the extra $15 on the totally necessary intake boot. 😂
I think we both know how thisturns out lol
@@smallengineguys hahahahahaha. Yes engine will go bye bye, but I only need it for one camping trip. :P It's also unlikely I will even use it on that camping trip. hahaha. So for now we electrical tape it. haha
@@Agustin-jo8mv if its there but cracked use black rtv. First super glue cracks together then caulk it.
@@smallengineguys Got ya. I'll keep that in consideration, thanks a lot!
