@@LambChopRides I don't know where 44 teeth are going, I used to find them interesting as well as amusing. Looks like they are moving to target a younger audience pretty much like the old Fast Bikes magazine did, before their demise. Yes, I know I'm not their target audience at 65, but both my sons have lost interest and they're 29 and 33. Stick to what you're doing Chopsie, I take I lot of note of your reviews

Dunno what you guys are on about.
Firstly, you can easily watch more than 1 review channel & enjoy them all. It’s not binary.
Secondly, 44teeth is still great entertainment.

Good stuff. It's good to see another angle of that trip. I was wondering why you didn't make more of an appearance in the 44T vid but this makes sense. WRT the channels; you're much more down to the job at hand & they're more Top Gear for bikes really. Both have their place but you're on par for what you're doing tbh.

Great video choppsey, on the tiger if you right click the joystick it pops all the info on the screen, range, miles covered, average all the info you need, was very handy screen set up when i toured Switzerland on it. Those air ducts too keep that hot air away from the rider 👍 was a very comfy bike one of the best i found. I was getting 350 miles a tank on the trip! Amazing only filled up 6.5 times in 2300 miles 😲 all these bikes are great very hard to find a bad bike these days, just what one prefers. BTW liked your video more, lots more bike info so cheers for making. Nick 👍

Great informative review Chopsie. Surely in our modern world an Adventure bike means a bike for long distance touring, like the SUV’s in the car world, nobody goes off road on these things - not in the UK anyway. I’m about to collect my 3rd GS (Adventure for the first time) next week - despite the new 1300 coming next year, and I can’t wait - they are a touring arm chair, which might be boring, but the GS in particular, covers all the bases.

Great video and as a similar height and build your comments are particularly relevant to me.
Had a 2016 GS and done some epic riding overseas on a rented one. I think if you do any off-road then it has to be GS, though Boothy's review of Tiger Rally suggests it's up there. Also KTM Super Adventure R exists and in the right hands they're incredible. Can't help thinking if you never go off-road some sports touring/touring options may be a better bet...
So many good bikes on the market I am going to have to do a lot of test rides this autumn/next spring before committing to my next big bike.

Great info. I’m 60 so liked your comments regarding each bikes comfort regarding seats. What was your thoughts on the wind screen differences? I ride a friends 2016 multistrada which is intolerable at speeds 60mph and greater because of the buffeting. It has an adjustable screen but makes no difference. I’m 5’10”.

    • @LambChopRides
      @LambChopRides  ปีที่แล้ว

7:30: Wait..... till you try a Multistrada Pikes Peak. How did they make such "big" bike so planted AND maneuverable? Is it the reverse rotating rotating motor canceling out wheel gyro effect and the super light Marchesini forged wheels? I'm on a KTM Duke 890R and KTM SMC 690R and just traded in a Superduke GT for comparison. Still so impressed by the handling.

Hi Guys, I have owned a GS, currently a KTM1290SAS. I think you have missed the mark slightly. An adventure bike needs to excel on gravel roads and light off roading, but also be very competent on the tar seal. If your only riding on seal get a sport bike. I absolutely love the super adventure, good on road, eats gravel roads at pace in a heartbeat. where ever, whenever it shines, I take your point about the seat being a bit hard.

Very informative. I’m still not sure which one I’d pick. Probably the one easiest service in North Dakota, which is….none of them 🙁 so next is waiting for the Pan Am to be sorted a bit more because at least there is a Harley dealership close by. Actually, I work on my Speed Twin and can get into the computer if I need to with a DEALERTOOL. Can’t do that with a Harley, which makes me kind of pissed off at them. (Now that they can’t void our warranties for working on them, next lawsuit needs to be a reasonable price and access to the Harley diagnostic computer system). Also, you all might as well have been on sport tourers. The adventure bikes needed some trails to further differentiate them.

I'm tired of all the 3rd party solutions, just let me use my phone interface on the dash. Yes i know the Africa Twin has it, but i'd rather not a 21" wheel for road use.

Adventure bikes, the SUVs of motorcycling, not very good off road, not very good on track, basically for 50 somethings that like to sit high up! I hate them, I only like the really light Dakar like versions which there aren’t really any of!
    Great video as always Chopsie😉😉
    Get well soon to Boothy❤️❤️

Dynamic pro is just for throttle/abs/traction and wheel control- dynamic suspension is set on the left handlebar (unless you meant you was in that). Excellent video tho :)

If I could make a suggestion. Could you film the front of the bikes with the low and high beams on. Some bikes (Yamaha) have a cock-eyed low beam - one light on out of the two that are mounted. Just would like to see if others are following that daft design.

Everyone tells not wanting a GS because everyman and his dog has one is not a reason not to want one but there you go. I ride a Multistrada but may mate Gary( Fish shop in Eaglescliffe) gave me a go on his 1290 and I loved it, I had an 1190R which I hated. I like the Triumph too. Great test mate.

Well Chops, you finally got to Aberystwyth (after the abortive attempt with Greg). Very informative, great opportunity to compare the bikes back to back. Keep the collaborations coming, TMF, Tim Rodie, Greg, Richie Vida, English Biker Dan, Bruce etc....the list is endless!

Fantastic video! I own the first Triumph GT Explorer in the USA. I traded my 2020 Tiger XCX for the new one and will never look back. Completely new motorcycle! Triumph killed it with this one!

@@jonasmanny3726 The rally is great where you can use the added suspension and 21"front wheel. Where I live in New England, It's too much. That's why I got the GT Explorer. More Road friendly for my tours.

All that weight on the GS does make the suspension wallow quite a bit, you need to ride it with out the luggage it make a huge difference.

These are four bikes I am considering for mostly long road trips. Day trips and multiple day trips and explore not very technical dirt roads and light gravel tracks. Places I would not take my current bike. I have been on all but the Ducati and it falls off the list due to fuel consumption, cost of service and cost of the Ducati brand extras. The range of a full tank killed it for me. The other three go farther on a tank of fuel, would be an easier ownership experience and have more dealer branded and aftermarket goodies available. My 2022 Triumph Rocket 3 is shaft drive and I like that a lot and the GS and Tiger also have shaft drive. The Tiger felt tall and top heavy to me. The BMW and KTM may be as tall but didn't feel like it. I am 5'8'' and weigh less than Lamb Chop, so some of the ergonomics and how the bike feels to me are different. Some differences can be addressed with seats, screens and other adjustments. I liked the BMW and KTM best. Very different bikes but I'd be more than happy with either. The BMW is the most refined of the group and probably most comfortable for a full day on the road and I like shaft drive. Top notch fit and finish and it exudes "quality" plus the dealerships generally address a positive ownership experience as a priority. Also, BMW has a strong owners group and plenty of BMW activities geared for the GS. If I had to pick right this minute, I would put my money on the KTM for the unique looks, sportier ride, hooligan feel and greater fun factor. The fun factor sold me. That's why I ride. Simple as that. There is no "right answer" and opinions vary. I am not trying to be right or sway anyone one way or the other. I am sharing my opinion for consideration. You may come to a different conclusion. That said, if you haven't been on them, you are at a disadvantage. These bikes feel different and that matters.
LC, keep up the good work. I enjoy your reviews and your more than the spec sheet commentary.
