    Good Video, well done guys. I agree, crazy pricing on the KTM way too much compared to the competition. The importers in Aus, really need to revisit their pricing. Charging customers an additional $1800 just to use features that are already fitted to what is already an expensive bike, is just pain silly and is treating people whom have spent a lot buying the bike with contempt.

      wow its crazy there !! i only paid $179.U.S.D. for the "Explorer mode" on my 901 which included cruise control quick shifter and all the diff levels of traction control and throttle sensitivity

    Its why I bought the expedition. Figured it up and I saved 2300usd over the ktm adv r for the same bike. Plus, imo it looks much better.

    I had a 2020 790 that I put nearly 30k km on, had the tech pack on that (price was the same or similar, no demo mode). I used all the features - rally mode, quick shifter, cruise control, etc - so when I eventually got the 2023 890 I was always going to get the tech pack. To be fair, it’s not as expensive in the US but I think if prospective owners are considering it, you can also buy individual bits of it rather than the whole deal I believe. I also don’t think the stock norden comes with the same suspension as the 890 R. Still if the more touring focussed screen, seat, grips is valuable to you then the norden is a much better deal. The 890 is more targeted at doing silly things offroad on a big bike than it is at covering miles.

      @@DanielACroft as far as we asked, the 890's tech pack isn't able to be broken down. The standard norden doesn't have the same suspension as the 890R, however the norden expedition lists the same WP XPLOR suspension upgrade as the Adventure R, The only difference between the exp and the 890R is claimed weight and having done considerable time offroad on the standard husky myself, i feel you'd have to be a well above average rider capability to really notice the difference. At that point, the KTM would be better offroad. Though the husky is more than capable in most situations average riders will put it through in the scrub, and im sure with a change in wind protection, the KTM is just as capable doing big miles.

      @@JayHenderson749 Yeah, that all makes sense. Thanks. I have my 890 set up for silly things offroad, but I could have done the same on a norden with similar results I think. It’s a shame that the bits & pieces aren’t available independently. :-/

    as a 2022 standard Husky 901 owner if i had known or there was even a rumor of the Expedition with the "R" spec boingers coming out i would have waited and ridden my prior bike another season , the reason i had to go with Husky instead of KTM is our local dealership situation makes it a must , i swapped out the suspension for Tractive Extreme @ both ends so im happy with the result now but i do very much wish i had the Expedition instead. hell i only paid $179.U.S.D. to unlock the 'Explorer' mode/pack or what ktm calls tech pack ect ??

    Got my 2023 Expedition a few months ago in Brisbane for $25k Australian dollars. The 890 at another dealer was exactly the same price but without the Tech Pack, which is another $1600. So I went with the 901 Exp. QCheers

  • @shanecolbert2435
    @shanecolbert2435 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    That's why I bought the Husqvarna 901 Exp. When you look at the standard features of the 901 Exp it blows the 890R out of the water price wise. And it looks better I think.

  • @MentaL65535

    What your dealer failed to mention is that the KTM tech pack is negotiable, as the price is not fixed by KTM while on the Husky is already included in the bike price. We have often offers here in EU where the tech pack (contains rally mode, MTC, CC and QS+) is actually given for free (and they mention in the brochure 1000 EUR buyers advantage bullshit). Personally I got my tech pack on my 890 adv 23 for 400 Eur which is 300 EUR cheaper than what is in the KTM catalogue at the dealers, plus an overall 20% discount on the powerparts accessories list price and a marginal discount on the bike price (as when I bought it it was just launched. The reason the optional packs exists is to give the dealers leverage over consumers by offering them "discounts", it's not KTM being evil, it's the concept of dealerships existing and it applies to most dealerships. In the end the bikes run just fine without the packs. In a world with buy directly from manufacturer, the concept of haggling disappears and what you speck on the order form is what you get, but when you need dealers to sell you bikes, they also need to make profit and the most profit they make in case of KTM is trough the optional packs that buyer have no clue they could haggle on.

    Stuff them. But 3 450MT's, thrash 2, still have money to jazz up the last!
    The real reason why KTM's are painted orange?

    i read somewhere that some ktm,s ,i think this is one such have the engine made in china ,for me thats a deal breaker especially when they charge top dollar ,im more into reliability than technology

    • @JayHenderson749
      @JayHenderson749  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@vincemarshall8550 the 790 is made in china by CFMoto and is the biggest culprit for the notorious cam wear issue. However, CFMoto put the exact same engine with some tweeks in their 800MT from my last video and that engine doesn't suffer from the same problem. I don't believe the 890 is chinese assembled, yet it still has a timing chain tensioner prone to failure and they can still suffer from camshaft wear, although seemingly less often. KTM isn't known for their reliability regardless of where its assembled

    This is a most silly, ignorant and uninformed review. sounds like you never heard of extras. On every single motor vehicle you pay extra on top of the basic configuration for extras like quickshift, cruise control, etc. Do you think that when you buy the quickshift on the Tuareg somebody opens the engine to physically install it, rather than just flick an electronic switch in the ecu? The problems with these bikes are well different and well more serious than this
