Just get a Tundra Pro with factory supercharger. Cheaper than both of them.
The Tundra with a TRD supercharger(not turbo) would be faster in a straight line than the Raptor. With the SC the Tundra's 5.7L V8 makes about 500 hp and 550 lb-ft of torque though I've heard the 3UR doesn't handle boost that well with stock internals. Then again I've heard the ecoboost isn't the most reliable engine either

America still builds the best trucks in my opinion. The RAM seems to handle any serious off roading while the Raptor seems the best all around truck for the everyday driver. The Toyota probably needs a little more work in serious off road stuff but will shine with it's reputation for reliable trucks. All in all it's a matter of personal choice and what you'll use your truck for. Great video and comparisons.

Great video guys. When I clicked I assumed the Power Wagon would struggle the most. Wow was I wrong. Ram making me a believer with that truck.
Other than than hood/cowl it is pretty awesome. Especially in that type of off-roading. Want to haul ass in the desert? Raptor. Just depends on what you want to do. So far, I've been impressed with my PW. (and you can actually tow something with it) (and it doesn't sound like a weed wacker) ;-)

Don Leamon yeah adding the exhaust isnt that good for the Tacoma, now on the Tundra its a different story and add a SC to the Tundra and it might just keep up with the Raptor, i know awhile back it beat the old 6 liter but idk about this one.

Unfortunately, supercharging a Tundra 5.7 usually results in cracked engine blocks or thrown rods. Ever wonder why Toyota pulled the TRD supercharger package out of nowhere? Because engine were blowing up at a fast rate. The rods were weak, the engine block weak, and the pistons were not designed to handle supercharger duty.
hochhaul That's complete bull. By the way you can still buy the superchargers for toyotas from the original manufacturer that Trd got them from, Magnuson. And with even more power output of 550hp and 550ft lbs torque for the Tundra

LOVE this!! Makes me miss back when I was the president of the Minnesota chapter of the Toyota Tacoma Off-road Association. We would do very similar runs like this and was always a blast. I had a 2000 Tacoma TRD Off-Road with an Old Man Emu lift, ARB front bumper, TRD supercharger, TRD exhaust. That truck was a blast and never had one issue with it.

Yet there are hundreds of thousands of owners of rust rotten Tacomas that had to participate in class action lawsuits against Toyota because they can't make trucks that won't rust away. and the new ones are so poorly made they were ranked last by CR, famous for ignoring poor quality Toyota vehicles.

Zach Young you can get a jeep rubicon for cheaper than all of these and it will go much farther than all of these trucks

Alphonso Cabrera raptors a much better toy, more capable toy in most aspects. The power wagon is a good toy, that can still tow and has a decent payload. Tacoma if you are into tight technical courses, or, the most common reason, the other 2 won't fit in your garage.
Jeremy Hall If you keep that power wagon stock the transmission will last you forever. If you want to supercharge it or throw big tires on them then yes you'll need to build it. I'm betting the next gen will get the 8 speed.

But yes that wagon looks awesome and it performed great with high grade performance and just a beast on 4 wheels just what you can expect from a 7k pound diesel truck.
The trd is economic cheaper to get and will last forever plus you can add so many things to it and are not as expensive as for the for or ram or Chevy.
I want the raptor so bad but I would rather keep upgrading my f150 is very much cheaper and I am doing it my way.
Rock crawling is what the power wagon is maily built for.
Correction none of these trucks are diesal. The power wagon is the larger hemi.

The tires on the Tacoma have always been it's downfall. Take off the factory tires, and throw on some 255/85 BFG's. 33in tall tire, No rubbing. No lift.
But those tires would be offensive to the other customers on the lot buying a Prius 😅

Chris Sarkis I would agree, but Tacoma's are Off Road beasts...Aside from a few things like mud guard removal, and swapping for some KO2 All Terrains, the Tacoma did well against those other beasts.

forrestgumball Ah, don't get me wrong. Mud flaps are great, on the street, but as you see in this video, and when you're off roading in real life, they are useless when you're rock crawling. The Raptor doesn't have them nor do the Power Wagon. I removed them on my Tacoma when I took it off road.

The first thing I did with my Tacoma is remove the mud flaps. They simply get in the way when you do any serious off-roading.

I will have to say, I think the Power Wagon does the best offload. I may not need a truck that big, but it certainly gets the job done off-road. For my needs, the Tacoma would do the job.

I have a 05 PowerWagon that I now have 140,000 miles on. Hands down the best truck I've ever had. It's a truck that make everything easy. It will go through anything and go anywhere and can still be used as a real work truck.

Great Job! Please make more videos like this one. I love the Ike Gauntlet but this is off-roading at its best. I wish you would do some steep climbing in Moab also instead of just descent. I wish you could make a mud pit at gold Mine Hill to test all the trucks in that too. I know I want a lot lol, but you guys have a great show.
Power Wagon. Not only can i wheel her through Moab i can tow my 10,000lb Toy Hauler loaded with three Quads and live out there in total comfort.

I agree. I pull a 3500 lb 16 ft dump trailer with a 8300 lb excavator in it behind my 2016 PW every day. Then on weekends, go playing in sugar sand with aired down tires at the lake or rock crawling in the hills.

yeah but you get what you pay for. the tacoma requires you to buy better tires, a lift, (cause its angles are kinda weak), and i hope you dont plan on towing as much as the others.

Not everybody tows or offroads their truck; primitive roads sometimes but real rock-crawling?. Most people wouldn't know where they could even drive offroad if they so wanted (ask a random 4x4 owner where they offroad). Outside of places like Moab off-roading is forbidden on public lands and no private land owner is going to allow offroading on their property..
@@WilliamStewart1 true...AND it did the worst in every one of those tests. To recommend the TuRD requires a lack of information, the drivetrain is from the 1990s, the same V6 as the Camry and only a 5-speed auto.

One thing I'd absolutely love to do is buy one of those offroad bed camper that pop up and go on a super long off-road trip through many states like Utah and the Rocky Mountains and stuff.

Power Wagon All Day !! 6.4 hemi and 2500 use it for off roading and towing pretty much anything. you not stuck with a 1/2 ton truck. no real compromise.
Jake Rheault Ive got a 2014 Powerwagon and fuel mileage is 11.2. I've got 92k miles on it. It looks cool but, It needs a diesel. Suspension wise, don't load it heavy in bed as It gets a lot of sway.
Toby Bridges for the price of the power wagon compared to the Raptor I would take the Power Wagon. I had a 13' 1500 quad cab big Horn loved the truck. I have drive alot of f150's but I would rather have a Ram.

The fellow driving the Power Wagon is a better driver than the other two and thus his choice of approach and depart gave more clearance. OR, was this a set-up to showcase the Ram? Case in point, in the 8:40 area note how much more angled to the left the Ram's approach to the ditch is compared to the track straight into the deepest part of the Toy and Raptor. The angle helps tremendously and the ditch is less deep to the left. None of my dogs in this hunt, but honest observation.

Awesome video! When checking departure clearance the Ram took an angled line though:p None of the trucks would've scraped if you all got to take an angle, so the Ram kind of cheated. Great video either way!

The Raptor is awesome in my book. Although the new ones are going for $10-$20k over sticker at the local Ford dealers currently. But they're still selling fast.

I started looking at trucks a year ago, and feel in love with the Raptor. Somewhere along the way (I don't know when or where) while doing research, I discovered the Power Wagon. After doing more thorough research and comparison between the Raptor and Power Wagon, I purchased the 2017 Power Wagon. Raptor is an excellent truck and it's the cool/in thing, but the Power Wagon is just the most capable truck on the market that I've researched. You cannot overlook that when you buy a truck, it still must be able to do what a truck is supposed to do; otherwise buy a jeep, range Rover, etc. Next, you cannot overlook the winch. I didn't go into my research a Dodge man or. Ford man, etc.Anyway, now I got the Power Wagon and love it.

The Ram and Raptor cost 25k to 30K more than the Tacoma. You can buy better tires and a 1-inch lift for the Tacoma and have 20K leftover.

if I were to buy one of them im daily drive it (dont get mad at me assholes if im paying $50,000 on a truck im driving it)so id go with the ram because it has the biggest bed and the biggest backseats plus it's the second fastest and (in my opinion) the best sounding

Very creative, well done video. This is the first video where a scratch or rub isn't a crisis. Normally you guys treat them like their made of glass. How about jumping some hills? Mudd should be more than 3 inches deep to prove traction. I guess its too much to ask that TFL purchases the trucks or has them donated by the manufactures.
