    Came across your videos and found them very helpful! I’m currently tackling a small office room in my new house that had wallpaper. I stripped the wallpaper and removed the glue. Now onto sanding and filling blemishes. Any suggestions about whether or not to skim coat the walls for a smoother finish?

    • @Inexteriors
      @Inexteriors  หลายเดือนก่อน

      maybe fill what you can see then get a coat of paint on to see what it looks like. if you want to fully skim walls with filler is up to you, it depends on the condition of the walll, along with how far you want to go with the prep, also will it make the end result better. or not.

      Dont over fill, most filling situations require 2 fills. Fiill clean so there isn't much sanding. Also once everything is fully painted and everything is back in the room you probably won't notice the odd defect here and there.. Remember progress not perfection.

      @Ethsan Khan ,Try soaking the bits that are left with water, then try scrapping. You can use the the green as a base coat
      if your walls are in good condition then a base coat is not required, if it is new plaster under the wallpaper then it will need a mist coat.

      Apologies me again, I’ve sanded my walls and washed down and then applied a mist coat, as I’ve then gone to do a base coat. The mist coat has some chalky residue, is this normal?
      Then when applying Matt emulsion on top neat, I can then see the mist coat underneath getting wet and thinning out, the wall then scratches very easily and the paint scrapes off. Any ideas? Can I apply Zinser primer over the top to seal? Or do I need to go back to bare plaster?

    What does it mean to "fill cleanly?"

    • @Inexteriors
      @Inexteriors  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      When you fill cleanly, its easier to sand.

    • @shusseina
      @shusseina 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks. I understand it's easier to sand, but I don't actually understand what "fill cleanly" means. Does it mean, fill any holes flush and do not overfill them? @@Inexteriors

    • @Inexteriors
      @Inexteriors  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@shusseina yes because you can always give it a 2nd fill, most holes require 2 fills, some times 3, dont over fill thinking it will go in 1 fill.
