    Steven, just wanted to say thanks for this video… just bought our first home and we’ve had some awfully applied wallpaper and liner to strip; with the hope to then paint the walls. This video has really helped ease my mind in getting the job done right…to the best of our ability! Much appreciate fella! Take care and have a cracking rest of your year!

    two questions please 1) am removing a wallpaper that was paste a painted walls after removing it there will be a glue residue on walls so should i wash it and scrape it or just scrape it and sand it like you did?
    2) why did you use mist coat if that was painted wall?

    • @Inexteriors
      @Inexteriors  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If the glue residue is sticky give it a wash with sugar soap to be safe leave to dry and sand. If walls are bone dry after removing paper i have just sanded. To be honest i have never washed the walls down, i have just waited till the next day then sanded then, i only mist coated were the paper pulled the paint of and exposed the plaster. @David Morley If it is bare plaster give it a sand all over with some 120 grit sandpaper to remove any bits like paper and bits of paste, then paint the bare plaster with a thinned down coat of matt emulsion, 70 percent paint 30 percent water. This video might help

    • @Inexteriors
      @Inexteriors  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @hybrid angel .These walls did not need much sanding to be honest compared to other walls i have come across, so if you was sanding walls in the same condition then yes you can use an electric sander with a 120 grade sandpaper, but you would only give it the once over, also the sander may get a little heavy. If you need ask any more questions please ask, i may take a day to get back to you because i am on holiday and struggling for internet. Hope this helped

      I think its the paint, i have noticed over the years some paint over sprays more than others. just take it steady, then wipe the skirting straight after you have rolled a wall if you are painting over, lets say a varnished skirting board. i have just used dulux trade on a job were the skirting boards are varnished and that gave off very little over spray.

      @Sunny Hernnadez . This was a bungalow Hallway. With doors and celings aswell. If i remember correctly it took just over 3 and a half days.

    When I peeled off the old wallpaper on the bedroom wall, some of the coating behind the wallpaper came off as well. Do I need to scrape all the remaining coating off or can I just leave it as it is?

    • @Inexteriors
      @Inexteriors  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @christine Yi . Scrape to a hard edge, then sand, and fill if needed.

      @@Inexteriors Thanks for the quick replay. I have scraped all the coating off on one part of the wall that I first worked on. What should I put on next?

      Give it a coat of paint, then if there is like a fine step on the edge of were you scraped, fill with fine filler, fill cleanly so it is easy to sand.

    Was this wall primed before it was wallpapered or is it unprimed drywall?

    You made one huge mistake here, not removing the socket and switch plates, you just painted round them, that's just not good practice.
