The first uncle, respect his opinion, but his opinion just stays with him..if you don't mingle around, blame yourself, don't involve others...as a Malaysian, there should be not a time in your entire life, that you don't get involve with other people from different backgrounds...you could have interactions with people from another races as your neighbor, friends at school, your teacher/lecturer, street hawkers, government officials etc etc...don't tell me you grow up ONLY among Chinese community and ONLY do business with them, then you should know where is the problem...
Anyhow, his opinion still a valid one, he can only speak of his view and experience...not entirely wrong..A proof that people like him exists among Malaysian. In fact, such uncle exists in every nation and societies...so let's cherish it..
Yup. Totally agree with u. Guess that uncle belongs to thhe Conservative section of the Chinese community. Many of us don't share his opinion on that part of the interaction between races. Many of us hv friends of different ethnicities
@@mayfoo02 the uncle dont have other race as friends hehehehe that is why he has that type of thinking
I really like the way you stay respectful ❤️ it’s was just his experience and opinion he shared. I see everyone mixing abound and I love it 🙏
Its ok chai.. uncle just tells about his life and chinese of his circle... we respect his opinion.. but most malaysians cant help but mingle and mix..
Actually I can understand why the uncle didn't mix with other races. I worked in government hospitals, I encountered many old folks who were indian and chinese who couldn't speak Malay despite their whole life in Malaysia. Moreover, if you look at the demographics, many neighbourhoods have predominantly a certain race, that's why they don't have chance to mix with other races.
Amazing Viedo. I want to move to KL next year as an international student, im very excited!
Thanks! Man, that’s so exciting! I hope some of the videos help you a little
@@Chai_Travel Yes they help me much!!!
What course are you taking and which uni btw if you don’t mind answering this?
Yes, many foreign students came here and didn't feel like going back to their countries anymore.
hey, i want to take bachelor of real estate or bachelor of urban planning at the universiti malaya if can score high enough in my next math exam :)@@vintagedigital108
First Uncle...i love you sangat² ❤ you the best 👍malaysia proud of you....❤❤
#stopgenoside
#freepalestine
Seriously? How be proud of someone who never mingle with other races? He is an example of someone who trap in community bubble for his entire life. Sad.
Certainly would not be as easy interviewing locals and the appropriate line of questioning compared to that to the tourists so very well done with that Chai. Mixing it up nicely with an excellent, varied range and the locals were responding well. Mostly positive vibes as you would expect from people very proud, as they should be, of their country which is so culturally diverse and they certainly appear to co-exist (mainly) with respect. Such happy and friendly people proud to be involved in promoting KL and Malaysia generally! Great watch this, Awesome!!
Ey Steven! Haha a bit different but very much joyful 😁 only a handful of people were to busy to talk to me and this in a busy city tells me that the people are pretty layback compared to other big cities around the globe:) we feel like home here 😃 thanks again mate! Have a great day in advance
We are planning a vacation to KL soon from Ohio! Would LOVE to live here!
Nice! Ohio🤩 I’d love to come and visit one day! Hahah thanks for watching 😊
For me, jalan alor is expensive. But if you earn more, no problem going there. KL is not as clean as singapore for sure. The burden of having so many south Asian migrants in the city( some undocumented) is making waste management more difficult. In singapore, foreign workers are placed in specific areas or hostels. Here they live in shoplots and apartments where locals live. So there is cultural conflict especially hygiene
Ow undocumented is a problem I reckon. Hopefully this improves in the future 🙏 thanks champ
Totally agree with you. Singapore is the best example to follow on how to manage foreign workers. How I wish our gov can be stringent about this as well. The problems created by foreign workers are worsening day by day.
Im malay but love to mix around. My best friend are chinese. We love to hang out and do crazy things together. Even until now 20 years later we still lepak and have laugh at the table.
That's so nice :) I like to hang out with people too, no matter what believe or background
The 72 year old in the beginning, wow! Great humble healthy guy.
Haha yeah right!? I'm sure he will be with us for much longer 😁
Welcome back to Malaysia 🇲🇾
Whoohoo! Thanks 😃 it’s great to be back
Indian and Chinese are introverts anyway, not just in Malaysia but anywhere in the world, that’s how they are. As long as everyone is peaceful and respectful I don’t care and I don’t want to know 😂
Wonderful interviews with the locals and foreigners. Thank you for this video.
Perhaps, if you could get hold of more educated Malay, Chinese and Indian in Malaysia, then you'll probably get a more accurate perspective being a Malaysian. Otherwise, you'll get a typical views being a Malaysian, not really encompassing and telling the true story of living in Malaysia.
Thanks mate 😁 and Good one Yasin :) I’d like to talk to all layers of society
@@Chai_Travel Wonderful. 😀
Super video thanks ❤
Hi Chai, the slaughter house statement made by the uncle is way expired these days as I personally find Jalan Alor street food vendors are pretty fairly priced. All of them have a menu with pricing stated clearly, and all are trying to be competitive in the face from stiff competition in the area. So nope, I disagree with the uncle on that point and that the fact that most Malaysians mixed around with other races makes his statement rather strange too. As of tourist areas, business owners nowadays are aware that any kinda of over pricing practises are detected, the news will go viral, and the bosses don't want to deal with that. I have a feeling the uncle is still stuck way back in time i guess. Lol😂
Agreed with you regarding that uncle.
Gotcha! I totally see that and I also disagree with what he is saying. (To an extend) I’d like to show other views on life too. I hope with all the other interviews and comments on our uncle, people get a proper picture of what it’s like and not only listening to what he was saying. Still I’m grateful he was happy to talk to me though 😊🙏 cheers Nick
Great video. I love seeing new places and hearing peoples perspectives.
Thanks! It’s always nice to talk to a bunch of strangers 😁
Nice peoples interviews Chai , love it ❤️😊🍺✌️
Thanks mate! It’s always a pleasure and you know it 🏆
Very good interviews, thanks for sharing.
Thank you for watch Chris 🏆

Interesting opinions. Nice video.

Good job mate! KL is an attractive city. Currently, I'm not living in Malaysia but someday I wanna live in KL and other cities in Malaysia as well. Stay champ~!
Thanks! Where you at champ? KL and Malaysia is waiting for you
Great video. If you go to Penang this time, Kek lok si temple will be light up with thousands lantern at night for chinese new year.
Nice tip! Thanks :) we have a friend living in Penang. Hopefully we will visit this time. If not next ☺️
Very nice bro , I likes your all video
Thank you 😊
Uncle is one of the few that don't know how to mix with other races, nationals.
I’m happy to here few :) I love the way people mix and get along ❤️
Precisely. What a sad life.
Good interview
Thanks 😃
Very good interviewing my friend - I think there is a lot to learn about many places . So Thank You my friend ✔️👋👌👍🙏
Nice one mate :D Indeed a lot to learn. Thanks for watching again :) stay champ mate
Súper video cómo siempre !!..me gusta mucho la dinámica de los mismos..ya que mediante entrevistas se puede obtener información exacta de la ciudad o el país en cuestión. Muchas gracias. Saludos desde Cuba
Thanks you 🤩🇨🇺
It is good that you asked locals not tourists.
Chai, enjoy your stay in Malaysia lah!
Haha thanks 😝 we have a good time so far
Heya Chai, good morning. I am interested in the statement made by the first uncle who said that the communities in Malaysia mostly do not socialize with each other and only interact within their own ethnic groups. Honestly, I partially disagree with this statement. I feel that it may be just him, I guess it doesn't apply to all Malaysian. In my family, both my parents had many friends from different ethnic backgrounds during their youth, and the same goes for me. When I was a child, I lived in a Malay residential area, and when I was 7 years old, I attended a national school. There, I had many friends from various races, ethnicities, and religions.
Due to this, many Malaysians could understand more than one language. Just like my parents, who fluently can converse in English, Cantonese, Urdu, and Tamil and of course our national language Bahasa Malaysia and I can speak Bahasa Malaysia, English, rusty Cantonese/ Mandarin. This is because we have a lot friends and the ability to communicate across ethnic lines contribute to a more interconnected society in Malaysia.
Hi good morning 😊 thanks for your kind message. The gentleman you talk about is just a one persons experience and opinion. I hope in several episodes to show what it is really like to be in KL. After a while and a few times being here I can say that I’m pretty sure that most people mix around with other cultures though I wanted to show another angle of thoughts about this topic. I’m so happy we’re able to be here right now and we feel super welcome even we are no natives ❤️
@@Chai_Travel Thanks Chai, honestly, I've watched all your videos, and I'm a fan. Great job, well done! Looking forward to more in the future.

❤❤🎉🎉
most of local don't really prefer live in KL if you ask many of them, they would prefer live in less busy city or some of them will say they prefer prefer to stay at east or northern of malaysia. me pesonally as malaysia which living in for more than 20 years would prefer to go back to my hometown in east malaysia after retired.
I find another good point in M’sia easy living…. There are mountains and nice seaside, islands resort … its just take you 2-3 hrs drive … very convenience…..
Yeah good one. :) Thanks!
❤🇵🇸❤
Not everyones prefer city life. I mean some peoples would prefer sub urban..or even countrysides..kampungs etc. I know many peoples in kL do not go to city center..unless if they have important things or job to be done ..perhaps due to traffic jam and pollution of noises..hectic life or environment etc ..some peoples might prefer pristine life and serenity in countrysides etc..
I had converted my foreign driving license recently into Malaysia driving license without any hassle(Note: contry who issued my foreign driving license are right hand drive, similar to Malaysia)
You will need a certified copy of your driving license from the country that issued you such driving lisence, then you fill in a form from JPJ ( Malaysia transport department )to request transfer foreign driving license to Malaysia driving lisence, after you submitted the form, the JPJ will issued you a receipt to collect the Malaysia driving license within 30 days.
For those who hold left hand drive license, I am not sure what are the procedure.
Gotcha! Thanks for that as it’s good to hear other people’s experiences too 😊 I guess it also depends where you come from and where you got your drivers license initially. Thanks and have a good day
Chinese uncle too honest😅,he shouldnt tell this stuff publicly to foreigners, this is only among some msian chinese 🤐
Bro, that red shirt uncle is a typical kiasu chinese.
They who the one dont border malays, whislt malay is the most socials n respected manners.
Try ask him to speak malay, sure mcm gampang like just arrive 3 month in malaysia from china.
I was wondering why the guy have problem converting his driving licence.
Apparently, he is from Argentina maybe its one of the reason.
I am a Malaysian but got my licence in the Us during my late teen college years there.
Might be we only recognize American and EU based licence now.
Gotcha! Yeah could be if it was just easy for you. I can imagine Malaysia has agreements with certain countries. Argentina might me not one of them 😅
Bro basically where are you staying in kuwalalumpur??? I will go to Malaysia in next 5th april , and I will meet you bro , are you agree???
Nice one :) I hope you’ll have a great time. I won’t be there though 🙏🤗 Maybe another time. Stay in touch
Theres a lot malaysia need to improve in term of economies, i am malaysian . I do love my country in term of cultures n religion tolerance , foods , weather and places to explore etc. But to be honest i as an adult living in malaysia and specifically stayed in Kuala lumpur in 5 years more less to work, feel that .. our economy equal to expenses in KL not really good especially for a middle class person here and i work for 12 hours a day to get better good money that i can afford foods and rent in KL . Rental is so expensive if u work normal job and work in Kl u need a better income or else u just living to work and no life . I will say malaysia have bad side in term of living life balance many people getting depress with small income, hard to get job and cant afford cost of living nowadays hopefully malaysia will improve in term of economy .
Thanks for sharing your thoughts ❤️
"slaughterhouse" 😂
Hahaha, yeah he knows how to name it 🤪
1st guy - typical city chinese who lives among themselves and doesnt mingle. What does he mean, " they dont bother us, we dont bother them. So arrogant and out of touch with real world.
Omg 1st guy is living in another world, not malaysia , poor thing. 😢.
I'm Chinese n I do agree with u.
Dont be surprise many of that kind still around and about.
Malaysian they hate each other. 😂😂😂 weird country. They hate each other but they hide it. Welcome to malaysia. Im living in this country almost 6 years. Omg!!
I think his world is his WA and Telegram Groups
that's not a very nice statement from that chinese person (Malaysian), saying they don't mix with the malays.. what a statement coming from a chinese Malaysian.. is he really a Malaysian??? 🤔
Would you like to talk about PJ
The uncle has no malay or indian friends for sure
That first red shirt Chinese old guys is the most stereotypical bad Chinese you will ever see in Malaysia ( there are many like that ) but as we move out to the north or east coast and borneo the Chinese did Integrate with the Malays and even speak the dialect..this guy don't represent all Chinese in Malaysia😮
Agreed
Depend on individual ,some have fun n enjoy life with friends this old man is selfish ...
@zinabuzarin9991 , yes, #selfish.
I personally wouldn’t like to say bad. Though I definitely see what you’re saying 🙏 let’s all get along and work with each other ❤️
Kl is a big city, ppl are from different background and social economical status. Dont assume every msian is good ppl or friendly without intentions. Big cities like kl, ppl are relatively more realistics, no money no talk. No doubt cost of living is cheap compared to europe, us, australia, singapore, hk, japan etc. I guess thats why some ppl from these countries like it here so much.
Thank you uncle❤! We live in malaysia in peace, we tolerate each other, we help each other regardless of different races. That is unique in Malaysia
True ❤️ Malaysia is great
Uncle Yo, if WE CHINESE as you claimed is very hardworking, Petaling Street will always remain a Chinatown instead of Foreigners Town now... only few 'hardworking' Chinese are there now like Uncle James Bond selling his Apam Balik for decades - until now still working hard... where are others? Goyang kaki hire cheap foreigners.. sigh...
🤭
Hahaha, spot on bro. Petaling Street is more like Banglatown now.
Rubbish
That’s one way to describe something
im malays but i feel shy about chinese red t-shirt uncle opinion.. 😅😅.. then u know who is more racist now ..
He is just insular that's all. Not racist. Insular and ignorant.
What I don't like in Malaysia, too much politics. After the election is held and the government is formed, leaders and people should forget politics and unite to develop the country. But not in Malaysia, politicians who failed to form a government continuously played on racial sentiments, as if they did not like the country to be in a state of peace and the people to develop their respective economies. Politicians are seen as just bouncing around for power, fighting for positions but the service is not necessarily good.
But your name mahadhir...apa cite tun
Politics… we don’t talk about it 😉
@@Chai_Travel The destruction of many countries is due to politics
