    Played my first round with the link.1 today. Holed more putts from over 10 feet than i ever have. An awesome piece of engineering. Love it.

    When I stumbled upon LAB, as a mechanical engineer, the storyline did make perfect sense. As a mid handicapper, I have always had difficulties getting the ball rolling on line. compared to others I've played with I am average on speed control, and above average in reading the line, which saves me on the green in those cases that I do get the ball rolling correctly. For 20+ years I thought high MOI putters with huge alignment help would solve the issue, so I have a history of some pretty large and/or funky mallets (yes I owned a Rossa Monza Balero). On a good day these performed well enough, but too many times I messed things up, I felt the putter head wobbling too much, especially at takeway. Watching the LAB video it was all crystal clear: that huge MOI worked against me.
    I figured I should be a perfect fit for a lie angle balanced putter, and after being remotely fitted, got lucky to find the right spec in the outlet store, because yes, these are expensive and a leap of faith if you got no option for a live fitting (couldn't find one in Holland).
    My hardly scratched second hand Mezz Max made it halfway round the world in a week, and after a first practice session I managed to work out the grip change (thumbs off, that's scary after that many years needing them to counter the torque), next round will be distance control, long putts don't come automatically with the soft feel of the accra shaft I have (love it for the soft impact, I always disliked hard/firm putting face feedback). And what I never had before, 2 total strangers passing by the practice green complimented the 7 yard puts I holed. L.A.B. putters are legit people, although less of a step up for those who already excel at putting the ball rolling down the right line. But if you're like me: seeing the line but incapable of putting the ball rolling that way, I would argue it's a no-brainer.

    isn't that what your two hands are for, holding it so it doesn't twist.
    hook the drivers up and they will do the same thing.
    This demo is more a Placebo effect. trickes your mind into thinking your going to hit it straighter, no matter what.

    Lie angle balancing is an absolutely game changing invention brought to putters by L.A.B. Golf. As a PGA Professional and golfer of 55 years, nothing has ever been made to compare to the products made by Sam’s company!

    Hi thanks for the demonstration. Whats the difference between zero torque and face balance at impact like the seemore mini giant df that has highest moi and a better comparison to your lab putters. I noticed the putters in your test was not the best option in their range viz fgp20..and sgp20. Would it not be a true test if you compare true vompetitors to your LAB putters like axis or true fbi seemore putters.

    I like my Mezz 1 max putter. But I do have trouble lining it up coming from always using a heel shafted putter. Any chance LAB will make a heel shafted putter that is lie angle balanced in the future?

    • @labgolf
      @labgolf  ปีที่แล้ว

      We're somewhat limited in this respect, as Lie Angle Balance demands that the shaft either go directly into the center of mass or "point" to it as the LINK.1 does. Do you not see any benefit of being able to "see the whole face" at address? This is a nice surprise to a lot of players once they spend a little time with L.A.B. putters. We think it actually makes alignment easier.

      @@labgolf Thanks for the response. I think the problem I am having is I was used to lining up my old Spyder with the line that went all the way to the back of the mallet. But the Mezz is more of a fang shape and the line is very short in comparison so it is hard for me to line this small line up to the spot I'm trying to hit. I still love the putter and feel like I really never miss putts because it is torquing in my hands like my old one. Now I miss because I can't line it up to the proper spot. I'll keep on working at it. If it still doesn't work perhaps I'll try the directed force since it has a lot longer alignment line, but if there is a future iteration of putter that is more mallet shaped with a longer alignment aid I'd get that in a heartbeat. Take care.

    • @labgolf
      @labgolf  ปีที่แล้ว

      That makes sense, Eddie. Have you tried using the other lines on the heel/toe of the putter to help you frame the ball?
      And you're right... we make alignment options for the Directed Force with really, really long lines if that's something that helps you.

    Why didn’t you show the if the LAB putter was face balanced before you showed the lie angle balance (spinning/torque)?

    • @labgolf
      @labgolf  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good point. We usually get the opposite feedback of people wanting us to spin the L.A.B. putter so they know we’re not playing any tricks. What about seeing a L.A.B. putter static position would help your understanding of the technology?

    • @krusher74
      @krusher74 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      it would not help me understand the zero TQ concept, but was just interested to see how it sat horizontally to work for zero TQ in use. @@labgolf

      I would have liked to see it faced balanced as well, however, it doesn't really mean much because showing face balance is showing the putter in a static static state. No one putts in a static state.

    Why didn't you hold it forward with the lab putter??

  • @alipajooman
    @alipajooman ปีที่แล้ว

    I am a heads-up putter. I barely look at the putter at the ball once it's lined up. The DF1 seems to have the highest MOI and largest face. That should give the most help with heads-up, right? Have you done any research with your putter and heads-up putting?

    • @labgolf
      @labgolf  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We haven't done any research on heads-up putting, but what we can say is the DF 2.1 is our easiest putter for most golfers to use. We call it "Fully Automatic" internally.

    • @alipajooman
      @alipajooman ปีที่แล้ว

      @@labgolf thank you. I would recommend watching Sasho Mackenzie’s research on that th-cam.com/video/7poLcXnn6vg/w-d-xo.html . I think a DF2.1 can compliment the idea of heads up putting even more by making depth perception the only thing to worry about, which is what heads up putting tackles head on.

    Is it recommended to not use the press 2 grip on the link? I honestly love that grip but want a blade style

    • @labgolf
      @labgolf  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can use a Press II, but it will remove a little loft. Some people do like it, so it's worth a try since you love that grip. Just make sure you go with a press grip that has 1.5 degrees of tilt and not 3 degrees of tilt.

    I notice you didn’t let it stop spinning before putting it in a playing position.

    • @rossadamdixon
      @rossadamdixon 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's because it doesn't have a position it wants to go to. It spins relatively freely.
      But why do you care how the putter spins when it's horizontal to the ground? I've just got my mezz1 today. It's outrageous how it feels to stroke. Went back to my other putters after 20 minutes and they felt terrible.

      We get it, because that's the first thing we thought, too. But hey... any putter starts to look beautiful when more putts start dropping.
