True fanboy of LAB, as I have all of their putters. I’m gaming a broomstick DF.3, Amazing. I’ve dropped 6-7 strokes per round over the past 2 years and almost never 3 putt. We all spend a fortune $400-$500, or more, on our drivers, which we hit 12-13 times a round, but can’t imagine spending $500-$600 on a putter that we’ll hit 26-40 times per round! It’s over 40% of the time per round. Get a LAB Golf putter, only if you want to drop 5-7 strokes from your game!! Thanks for the Review!!
I have a df3 for about 6 weeks and can confirm it is definitely a far better putter than my scotty phantom 7.5. 10ft and in I nearly can't miss, undoubtedly a game changer
@@OutofWatersI was iffy but found there are extra long alignment line options. White lines really pop on the blue. Had to do it with the Black Friday deal haha.
Mezz 1 for me. Been playing it over a year and its removed alot of my 3 putts. I am totally sold on the Science and bit by bit so are the Pros on tour. I see Phil is rocking a Mezz 1. Great video and exactly what was needed.
I've always been a pretty good putter. Put the DF3 in the bag recently, and it is next level. I've never putted or felt more comfortable over a putter. Absolute beast. It's so ridiculously easy to putter on line. Worth every penny.
I feel the exact same way about mine. I was hesitant at first due to the high price point. After receiving it, I feel like I've ripped them off... Absolute game changer of a putter.
I tried both the DF3 and the Mezz. The DF3 looked better at address and it felt a little better BUT I hit the ball much better with the Mezz. So I bought a Mezz
I’ve tried both and completely agree with your assessment n take, the mezz can feel the ball better while the df3 is hard of the putt, I’ve since got rid of all my other 12 putters including my Scottys and I’ll never look back! The lab mezz is my ultimate lifetime putter!
Checked my preshot routine the other day after getting AlignXL golf balls and discovered that my alignment is off. Added a shaft check to my routine and it's good to go. I also ordered a blue DF3 with the long triple line option just in case, haha.
Great comparison. That's a crazy mat. Putters are very close. I find that the Mezz Max is more playable but the DF3 with the big sight lines is easier, almost a super game improvement putter. DF3 is also hotter off the face.
Never caught on that you are in the Portland area. I was almost ready to pull the trigger on the DF3 but now I need to head down to Creswell to test the OZ.
My same exact experience w, the Link, it went where I aimed it - so the technology is valid - but I could not control pace with it and it lacked feel. Gave up on it after one season.
@DanKingsford so the mezz is super compact and kind of looks small at address compared to the mezz max. Since the mezz max is 20% larger it is more stable and confidence inspiring. Make sure you splurge on the better shaft option. Tpt is expensive I know but at least the Accra one.
i have both, i like the df3 more because I can pick the ball up which helps with my bad back so saves me shots from holes 15/18 where my spine starts to ache lol.
I think the Mezz feels different because it's partially made with stainless steel, while the DF3 is completely made of aluminum. I tried out both at the PGA store and even though I like the look of the DF3 better I was putting better with the Mezz.
I got the Odyssey Square 2 Square last weekend and love it. A lot of the pros of the Lab putters, with the added white hot ai one insert and half the price! I’d be interested to hear your thoughts if you try one out.
@bradhend curious if you tried LAB in comparison? I read the Ai insert gives more speed consistency vs how @breakingeighty mentioned the speed and distance is what made the LAB putters lose feel with distance. @breakingeighty one thing you didn't mention is that cost is much higher than $500 because unless you buy a stock putter which is limited to just two lengths and one Lie, you have to pay a $100 upcharge to get a different length, then upgrade the shaft it's another $100 ca-ching! Unlike what LAB claims, most other companies offer those options without a $100 upcharge. However, I agree with the review that the Mezz 1 just felt better when aligning and putting.
@@foredogg I’ve putt with a Lab df3 but only on a practice green. Never in round. I love the df3 and was planning to get one. But when I got the opportunity to get the S2S early I jumped on it and am very pleased. The ai insert does some to produce an excellent and consistent roll off the face. My distance control does seem improved.
I had a Link that I was fitted for and used for.a season. It went where it was aimed so their technology is valid and their customer service is excellent. But I struggled with pace and felt it lacked feel - I just couldn’t get comfortable with it. Can you try one out at a local store or maybe buy a used one if you’re unsure?
Wait. If you’re making all the putts with the DF3, you shouldn’t be able to use the ball picker-upper … 😂 I think they’re cool, I’m sure they work, but they are waaay out of my price range (full disclosure - I still have my beloved Callaway Tuttle in my bag). mygolfspy tested the LAB putters against other mallet and blade putters and found the LAB is a better putter from most distances. With PXG releasing the Allen, and Odyssey bringing back their take on the torqueless putter (look at their prior efforts with the Back Stryke, which pre-dates LAB) the no torque putters are the new hot commodity. Thanks for the great review.
Did you do any kind of fitting for your LABs or just go with stock that felt good compared to your previous putters? I feel like this is a huge component of LAB that’s going unmentioned in this review (prob bc it’s sponsored by GG).
Probably best to say now it’s reduced or minimal torque. Really no such thing as a true “zero” torque especially on the follow through stroke. Even on the revealer it’s anchored on the balance point but that’s not wear we hold it
I have a mezz and it’s the real deal. Yes price is expensive but you shouldn’t need another putter again. It will last you a very long time and that’s how you need to look at it
What would they ban here? It’s just a putter. People discuss the idea of banning broomsticks but I don’t see how they would ban these standard style LAB putters
@ they ban limit the “hotness” of drivers wedge grinds too much spin etc golf they will call it an unnatural advantage (not having to control club face) and boom banned
tested dint buy it yet and i would have to agree.. mezz is better for me too.. i hate the df3 i dont know why its not the shape.. maybe the feel.. coming from a guy who uses evnroll 1.2 daily.. i think i would wanna try evnroll zero first before going with team lab... any advice?

Can't wait for the OZ.1 review from lab
DF3 for me! Tried Mezz and even OZ, and still most solid consistency with DF3. Just have to keep getting used to the look lol.

That's funny, I have the Phantom 7 and have been considering getting a DF3. Might have to just pull the trigger..
@OutofWaters just do it

@@TMar1961fitted through their online fitting.
Would recommend trying the Mezz Max with the TPT or Accra shaft. Those shafts eliminated that tingy feel of the Mezz Max for me.
Time for df3 vs Mezz vs oz!

I got fit for a mezz1 max Friday. Had a practice with it but first time out today. Struggled with a push on most of putts today.
@@jordanwebb6418 I too have a difficult time with alignment on my Mezz 1 Max.

Had a Scotty for a year, got fitted for a LAB hated the DF3 had no feel. Soon as I got the Mezz in my hand it felt like a cheat stick love the thing
Played Mezz Max 1 and Link 1 for 2 seasons. Sold them both. Lagging is like pissing in the wind..
My same exact experience w, the Link, it went where I aimed it - so the technology is valid - but I could not control pace with it and it lacked feel. Gave up on it after one season.
There is an initial honeymoon period where everything goes in with the mezz. I really love my mezz max.
I’m looking to get a mezz why would one get a mezz one versus a Mezz max?
@DanKingsford so the mezz is super compact and kind of looks small at address compared to the mezz max. Since the mezz max is 20% larger it is more stable and confidence inspiring.
Make sure you splurge on the better shaft option. Tpt is expensive I know but at least the Accra one.
I like the Mezz designs better than the DF designs too. All the parallel lines help me with alignment... like a triple track on the putter.
LAB for the win. Hands down the #1 piece of golf equipment you can buy that will actually improve your scores.
Tried a DF early this season when a playing partner offered one to try, it felt super light. That mez looks heavier
Got my eye on the jailbird or Phantom 5S
have both Mezz for me

What’s that crazy putting mat? What’s the cost? Hooks up to computer?
Maybe a LAB v. PXG Allan (or other) comparison on your fancy putting mat would be cool.
Mezz Max? Did you get to use it? From your understanding why would one want the max over the M1

Mezz1 for me - have never lined up putts as easily as with this one
Aight bro, but now you gotta review the Link.1 because that's what I got lol
Thank You I like your reviews and comments. I bounce between the DF3 and Mez Max, but thinking of a broom handle style. Thoughts???
I game the DF.3 in broomstick. It is crazy great for 3-5 foot putts. Lagging is also crazy good.
Yup the long lags are the only issue with my Mez broomstick but have only played 5-6 rounds with it and number of puts has dropped by 8 per round !!!

6 rounds with the DF3 and 1 with the Mezz? Let see how you do with the next 5 rounds with the Mezz.
I have link, mezz max , df3. Love all 3. But, DF3 is the one I’m taking when I’m playing to win $
I game the mezz max and I've never made more putts, it's deadly.
They do roll straight. Less side spins.
I switched from a mezz max to a 2001 odyssey 2 ball that was like 5 dollars at a garage sale 😂

Weird. I had a Mezz1 and disliked it so much I sold it. My new DF3 though will need to be prised from my rigour mortis.
