I am a Maharashtrian and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is my pride but the fact is Raja Raja Chola was used navy in 900 - 1000 AD and Ch. Shivaji Maharaj was born in 1630. Raja Raja Chola was also a hindu king of Dravidian race. He defended south India from Western conquest using his navy. He also built hindu temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. We should remember and respect all the hindu warriors who fought for our motherland.

That would be Rajendra Chola. He had a navy of 200 ships and invaded the southeast Asia almost 600 yrs before Marathas.
@Surya Kiran no they had ships fitted with with weapons of their time, like small catapults and arrows throwing devices. They even had ships that can accommodate upto 400 crew members... They had offensive capabilities but weapons like cannons were not invented then.
@Surya Kiran I know, but those times the ships were mostly built on wood and the cholas war ships used fire arrows to sink enemy ships. Ive done some research on this topic thats why I'm sure. Ive even seen stone carving in temples detailing about the capabilities of chola navies. The cholas even employed naval blockade during their invasion of Sri Vijaya Empire ( Malaysia, java and Sumatra Indonesia).
@Surya Kiran they also undertook port seiges during invasion of srilanka. And faught atleast 5 major naval battles in southeast Asia...

Shahistakhan who feared Shivaji even in his dreams was King of Abu Taliban and Turkistan.
Behlolkham pathan, Sikandar Pathan, Chidarkhan Pathan were all warrior sardars of Afghanistan.
Dilerkhan Pathan was the great warrior of Mangolia. All of them bitted dust in front of Shivaji.
Sidhhi Jowhar and Sidhi salaba to Khan we're Iranian Warriors who got defeated
Siddhi Jowhar later resorted to sea fort and became difficult for which Shivaji raised navy, the first Indian Navy but before accomplishing the task Shivaji left this world.( He was poisoned).
The most famous war of Umberkhind has its mention in Guinness book of world record where in Kartalab Khan from Uzbekistan (Russia) was defeated with his 30,000 soldiers by mere 1000 mawalas.
Not a single Uzbeki was left alive to return back home.

He fought courageously against tyranny of Auranjeb n some other kings. He outnumbered huge army by using gorilla technique. He outsmarted all warriors who challenged him. I don't need to brag about his bravery but if you read history meticulously you'd know he was the best of best kings ever lived on earth n still ruling MARATHA people's heart.
