- Hey everyone, and welcome to another movie trailer reaction video! This time it is for the movie Pawankhind which is about the story of Baji Prabhu and 300 brave Marathas who held off a large Muslim army to defend Chhatrapati Shivaji.

The entire India wanted Marathas to rule this land on the principle laid by Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj ji. Unfortunately we lost to British due to infighting.

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was stuck on the fort of Panhala for 4 months as the army of Adilshah had laid seige on all 4 sides.
The movie shows how King Shivaji and his men managed to escape by using a duplicate (Shiva Kashid) who dressed up like Him to confuse the enemy. The Adilshahi army later realised their folly and pursued Him through the thick jungles eventually leading to a narrow mountain pass called Ghodkhind (ghod = horse, khind = pass in Marathi language). Baji Prabhu Deshpande asked King Shivaji to go ahead and reach the fort of Vishalgad and shoot 5 canon balls marking his safe return. Until then he and his band of 300 soldiers would stop the advancing Adilshahi army of 10K soliders.
They fought for 12 hours and Baji Prabhu is known to have not breathed his last until he heard the sound of 5 canon balls.
All 300 perished. The pass was renamed as Pavankhind (pavan= holy) thereafter.
P.S. King Shivaji is revered in India to be the Hindu emperor to have established a kingdom of his own(Maratha empire) with a handful men when India was ruled by Mughals/invaders/slavery for pretty much 500 years. He specialized in guerilla warfare and was way ahead of his peers in the world when it came to secularism(hindus, muslims alike), administration, womens rights. He is revered like a God in many parts of India and some of his acts of bravery(at the frontline) are very popular. Shivaji's empire was built with men and women absolutely dedicated to him. His mother Jijabai is equally revered for being the reason of Swarajya(self rule - since India was ruled by invaders). This is just one of his many stories. A real life David/Goliath battle is between Afzal Khan(7ft tall) and Shivaji (5.5 ft) which Shivaji won. He wasn't all brawn and is known to have been shrewd and tactful. The Maratha empire eventually became the largest empire in India extending uptil present day Pakistan at its peak.

Marathi movies don't have big budget we have so small budget....but we manage in that too..but this is big budget comparing to previous...and this is based on real life its true story of our Chhatrapati Shivaji maharaj..Shivaji Maharaj is Maratha warrior..because of him our culture our religion is standing...he is like god to us....this story is of escape of Chhatrapati Shivaji maharaj (king) where 300 marathas under leadership of general Bajiprabhu Deshpande fought against 10000 to 12000 Adilshahi forces...marathas fought with they in horse pass they nain aim was they were stop adilshashi forces in that horsepass until our Chhtrapati Shivaji maharaj reach to the next fort...this battle fought near about 10 to 12 hours Bijuprabhu despondent literally refused to due that day until he heard the sound of 5 shots of cannon fire...the deal was that Shivaji maharaj along with 300 marathas go ahead towards the Vishalgad fort and remaining 300 with bajiprabhu deshpande will fight and stop adilshahi forces who were chasing them...bajiprabhu said Ohh king please go...it's my humble request to u...I will stop them here i will not let them pass from here until u reach there safely just signal 5 cannon shots....marathas were just 300 and they were 10000 at last 246 marathas along with bajiprabhu deshpande got martyred for our country and near about 3000 to 4000 adilshahi soldiers killed there...the ratio was 1 is to 100 but still the main purpose was succeeded bajuprabhu fought til last breath until he heard sound of cannon then he took his last breath.....so because of this breave marathas...our is was got protected...cause of there blood that kand got sacred so after this the horsepass name changes into Sacred pass and the battle itself known as The battle of Sacred Passs...

Every year in month of July we youth in Kolhapur arrange Trekking trip to Honor the Valor and sacrifice of Bajiprabhu and 300 Maratha mavalas (soldiers) from Fort PanhalaGadh to Fort VishalGadh passing through PAWANKHIND and Every time that I have passed through PAWANKHIND while Trekking , I always get this shivering sensation that Bajiprabhu and martyred Maratha soldiers are STILL WATCHING OVER US 😪❤🚩

USA army fought n wasted 28 years to beat small country.. But they failed because Vietnam implemented "Guerrilla warfare". President of Vietnam was inspired by the great hindu King Chhatrapati shivaji.... He used to call himself not prez of county but soldier of Chhatrapati shivaji 💪💪💪💪💪💪
It was Shahaij raje bhosale and his habshi (african) comrade malik ambar who invented the Guerrilla warfare technique which was then adapted by Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

This is one of the bravest battles in Maratha History.So,the story is Shivaji Maharaj was at the Panhala Fort and the Adilshahi Army of 10000 soldiers lead by the commander Siddhi Masud encircled the fort to capture and eventually kill the Shivaji Maharaj.Shivaji Maharaj planned to escape the fort at midnight and go to the safe fort VishalGad with just 600 of their best soldiers with him to not to get noticed.But, when he escaped the fort Panhala,the army of Siddhi Masud got to know that and followed them.A man named Shiva Kashid, who resembled Shivaji Maharaj in appearance, had volunteered to dress like the king and get captured. It was envisaged that this would buy some additional time due to the confusion over identity, before Siddi Masud realised the error and gave chase.And in addition to this Shivaji Maharaj also got to know that the fort VishalGad is also surrounded by the army of Mughals with 5000 soldiers lead by Commander Siddhi Jauher.So they decided to split the army in each 300 soldiers in a side.300 soldiers will engage the Siddhi's 10K army for as long as possible and the rest 300 will go with Shivaji Maharaj,will faught with Mughals and will reach to the VishalGad,the very safe fort where some of the Maratha soldiers were already present.It was very challenging to hold the Army of 10k for a long time with just 300 soldiers.But,The Great Warrior Commander Baji Prabhu Deshpande with just 300 soldiers decided to fight against the Army of 10k at the narrow pass of Ghodkhind.They hold the Army of 10k for the strong 3 and a half hours killing 5k soldiers.In other side Shivaji Maharaj's Army fought with 5k Army near VishalGad and Successfully reached to the fort.All the 300 soldiers lead by Baji Prabhu were martyred but they successfully held the much bigger Army for as long as possible for safety of Shivaji Maharaj.
We all must have seen the the hollywood movie 300 but how many of us know that in our own history,in the real battle when only 300 Maratha Soldiers faught with 10k Army to save the Hindavi Swaraj which was on it's way of growing..?

This movie teaches many things ,this India we have got bcoz of sacrifices of our great leaders ,we should have value of their sacrifice.
there are some points you need to consider :
1. those 300 men, were running on their feet through the dense forest with hilly region, in the continuous rainfall, for the whole night and till next day evening, without taking rest or halt for single minute in this whole journey, forget about having food, only for a single mission, to save Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj from the siege of Siddi Jauhar's huge military (almost 10k) to Panhala fort and help him reach Vishalgad fort from Panhala fort, its a distance of 65 km and the place where this war happened is at 49-50 km from Panhala fort, meaning they were continuously running for 50 km without stopping anywhere, because the huge military was chasing them.
2. Baji Prabhu Deshpande had to make a plan to stop in Ghod khind (khind meaning narrow passage) with some men to stop the chasing army of Siddi, sensing that this is strategically better place to take advantage while fighting against huge army, and its when they all were really very tired. he insisted maharaj to go ahead and reach Vishalgad, otherwise, if they wouldn't have stopped there, they would have eventually caught by Siddi. so there was no other option. it was impromptu decision.
3. so in such conditions, from morning 7-8 am till the afternoon between 4-5 pm, these 300 men were again back to work, were fighting continuously without any rest, any halt, with no backup of food/weapons/horses/men/backup plan. they just wanted to keep Siddi's army at that place as long as possible, so that Maharaj will safely reach without getting caught. now , for remaining 15 km, why did the people took so long till evening? the other 300 with maharaj also had to fought back with enemy at the base of Vishalgad fort.
I think, greek 300 were not faught in such a worst conditions. so comparing with Greek 300 will actually never give you the idea and true sense behind this great sacrifice by Baji Prabhu and his men for the Swarajya, not only for the Life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, but for the life of Maratha Empire, for the new hope for the motherland.
