    The base mustang has always had an engine that was more geared towards cruising. But idk how anyone is complaining about 315 hp. As long as it’s reliable who cares. Enjoy this car even exists in the first place. It’s putting down the numbers while being efficient. It’s one of the best bang for the bucks.

    Nice review, sir! The only thing that I don’t agree with is your assessment of the rear end of the mustang. I like the new “sliced” version of the rear lights and the diffuser. But it’s all subjective I realize but I think it’s really cool. Appreciate you and your candor, and have much respect for your assessment of the last(?) generation of the mustang

    • @TheHungryRoad

      All good! It’s good to have a healthy discussion about differentiating opinions. The rear-end has grown on me, but not by much. Lol. I don’t think this will be the last ICE Mustang. Ford’s got long money and enough EVs out there to be able to keep throwing a big engine into their flagship coupe.

    Great review, very sharp, color blue is one of my favorite, and i totally agree with you about the back end, and the too many confusing trim options, this is a 4 cylinders 315hp, the old trans am/camaro 8 cylinders had a 300 hp, this car is great if you want to be cool and not waking up the neighborhood on saterday morning, all in all i think the 2024 Mustang is the best looking Mustang ever.

  • @jamesmcgrath3841

    The ecoboost is a fab car. People "hating" on it should bear in mind that this is what makes the continued production of the v8 possible. The volume is needed, and the average mpg across the range needs that "boost" too.
    That said. I prefer the outgoing model. Exterior is far more attractive. This looks too much like a Camero. In the wrong way. As for the dashboard? Total dealbreaker. I couldn't bear to sit behind that computerized slab every day. This is the ugliest dashboard I have ever seen on a mustang.

    • @TheHungryRoad
      @TheHungryRoad  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are so correct! I should’ve made some of those points in the video about why the EcoBoost is necessary for the V8 to survive. Ugh. Hopefully people will understand that and Hell yeah, that dash is like sitting at work looking at computer screens. Lol.

      @@TheHungryRoad - I think the premium, single curved screen is better looking. It is growing on me. I do like the interior better than older model because door panels are nicer, steering wheel is better and dash has nicer softer touch surfaces. Seats are better too. I’m liking exterior more too. My concern is the lack of simple intuitive controls for routine functions. AC, Cruise, Audio, and maybe navigation should be analog not digital on screen. More knobs or switches are needed. I like the approach Mazda and BMW are using .

    • @TheHungryRoad

      @rembo183. I hear you 100%. I like the single screen better than the dual. The buttons versus screen thing seems to take on different opinions depending on the car it’s in. For something like this, I’d prefer buttons.

    Just came across your good comprehensive review. Let me assist with your criticism of the rear end treatment. This is the 60th anniversary of a vehicle that has been in continuous production. Ford has purposely used design elements to pay homage to prior generations. That's why you can dial in a Fox body instrument screen. Mustangs had an inward sweeping taillight design in the late 60's. Granted, not as severe as the 2024, but certainly obvious to anyone paying attention. Don't forget that the most famous Mustang of all, from the car chase scene Steve McQueen made legendary in the movie "Bullitt", was a '68 Mustang with a very inward sweeping rear end treatment.

      His was/is also a 2010 model, which I believe didn’t have an oil cooler, so day to day life was rougher for the turbos as well. I think 2013+ has the cooler.
