Well said. Years ago Tiffany and Company agreed and operated some turquoise mines in Nevada. True story!

I heard the owners of the mine often stain the tan matrix of natural Kingman turquoise with a black manganese stain, to make the matrix more contrasting and beautiful. Is this acceptable and does it lower the value of the turquoise? The turquoise isn’t stabilized, just stained.
