Nobody's buying random gemstones except the public, very few gems are worth much, and to have a rare stone worth big money, you need a gia certificate and a valuation. Even then wholesale prices come and take any profit.

If you want to buy semi precious stones the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show is a must. The best place is Jaipur India. Most of what ends up in Tucson probably passed through Jaipur India. It is where most cabochons are cut and polished. The deals there are the best. Lower than US wholesale, lower than any gem and mineral show. At the end of the day semi precious and precious is only really worth what clients are willing to pay for it. Try and sell an engagement ring. Yo will figure it out. You may only get the price of the gold. Keystone price is 60% below retail. Never pay retail for stones.

Sunstone... Stone of Happiness and Leadership -like the rays of the sun it illuminates things around it promoting joy, energy and optimism - dissolves depression, irritability, seasonal sadness. Lifts up the spirits - safe in water and in the sun - 6.0 - 6.5 in hardness scale - charge it in the sun preferably sunrise. Place it in the East corner to attract happiness, fortune and luck - best to program it on a Sunday - comes from many places including Greece Norway India China Australia and USA - good for joint pains - side effects... Makes you blindly optimistic, can be draining for people sensitive to energy - perfect for introverts, helps them from being drained around people and giving a sense of companionship - also called Heliolite from the Greek God Helios, God of the Sun

I'm so glad u differentiated block turqouise from compressed. I always heard some people either say it's the worst, and others say it's a good thing. So I'm assuming they are speaking of the blocked type when they says it horrible and vice versa. That made it so much more understandable for me. I now feel more confident buying turqouise jewlery. Thank you!! 😊

Have you tried to contact the GIA? You can always get a cert from them. As for auctions, I can't help you there. If you can get an evaluation from the GIA (or equivalent lab) then I can ask some of my manufacturers if they have interest.

Love your answer. When wedding ring shopping a jeweler recommended decide how mich you want to spend and then buy the highest quality stone you can with that money. I think that applies to any jewelry piece.

I know this video is old and you are not doing the youtube thing any longer, but if there was some time. What are some acceptable treatments of Larimar. Most on sale in shopping channels is stabilized, but I would like something that hasn't been dyed. So what is the industry accepted versus common treatments (like filling versus oiling in emeralds)? Thanks
