    One of my favorite things about this channel, which I very much appreciate, is the detail of each engagement. I find it not only informative but practically useful!

    Minor critique, maybe put the frame with the shooter in an upper corner where splash could not be observed ?

      I dont want to hide the bullet splash. My Father commented after I borrowed his 1903 Springfield and I made the 1 mile using peep sight video. His comment was I wonder how many people notice and appreciate watching the dust after each shot and how much it changes from shot to shot. One of the things I am trying to do is give shooters a chance to not just watch me shoot but also see more than just the shot. I am trying to talk about everything I do and what I am doing. For me its not just about sharing the experience but also maybe somebody will hear something I say or see something that happened and maybe learn something. Because of that I get the privileged of people weighing in and commenting on what I am doing and making a suggestion, or sharing there similar experience and relating it to something I am doing and I learn something. After I posted my 1 mile freehand video I talked about bracketing the target. Someone weighed in and mentioned how they bracketed a target. That gives me food for thought.

      I like to look for the splash.
      My only thought was the placement of your in screen picture. I was thinking that there was not much chance to miss the splash if the picture of you with the firearm was in the upper portion of the screen, with maybe a slightly smaller picture size, then most of the area around the target would be visible during the shots.
      Past that, thanks for sharing your shooting.

    Nice video sir ,I just built a .223 bolt gun with 24” tube Im running the 88gr eldm around 2820 fps bullets are seated long (2.550) don’t know what powder you are using but 6.5 staball is working really good for me this round is fun to shoot is cheap easy on barrels the longest I’ve shot it is 1k so far with good hit ratio

    • @nevadadesertrat267
      @nevadadesertrat267  ปีที่แล้ว

      Your running about 100fps faster than I am. My OAL is 2.530. 2.550 is max for the chamber. I am using CFE 233. I can run them close to what you are getting velocity wise but the accuracy goes away. Out to 1200yds if its calm I can really beat on the targets. Accuracy for it is about 3/4moa.
      What twist are you running? Mine is 1-8

      @@nevadadesertrat267 hey 👋 barrel is a x-caliber 1-7 throated, especially for heavy bullets I have tried all the powders suitable for this caliber I liked A2520 but staball gives me better SD numbers surprisingly nobody is using it or at least nobody’s talking about it I gave it a try I love that from the very first time I saw nothing but single SD numbers with all powder charges by the way I love your videos. I love the open spaces you have to your self

      @@santicristyn2328 I have a X-caliber barrel on the 25-06 I built shoots sub 1/2 MOA. What action are you using? I have to ask what size groups are you getting?. As far as SD you are doing a bit better than I am. I am at about 20fps. As far as powder fortunately I have plenty of CFE 223. I live in a Rural area and powder and primers have been impossible for me to get. Even if I wanted to give your 6.5 a try I cant find it right now.

    NDR, this is amazing. what mags are you running in that AR to allow the COAL?

    • @nevadadesertrat267
      @nevadadesertrat267  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Because of the long OAL of the cartridge I have reduced the AR to a single shot rifle when shooting this load and have to load them one at a time. About 6:25 in on the video I comment on loading them one at a time. Basically you can also see me pull the brass catcher off and then I just set the round on top of the Mag then close the bolt.

    useless video/information. ballistics for the 223 at 1 mile are scarce but a little looking will “learn you” the following: at 1 mile (1760 yards) a 223 has similiar velocities as the muzzle velocity of a bb fired from a daisy bb rifle….next!

      Do you work for the CDC? Because you clearly dont know science. The 88 grain Hornady ELD Bullet is arriving on target still going 998 feet per second. Still retaining 198 ft lbs of energy. It leaves the barrel at 2730fps. I am at 4200 feet elevation. You must have a super charged over sized daisy that is shooting 88gr BBs at almost 1000fps. I bet money you dont get it is possible to shoot a 300 blackout at 1.25 miles? That 200gr bullet is only arriving on target going about 800fps can your daisy do that? Check out the video and feel free to urinate all over it.

      Lessee, a typical BB weighs a har over 5 grains and is lucky to be moving 450 fps at the muzzle... I'm no math genius but I don't think that's even close.

      @@johnqpublic5938 For the record I have spent most my life seriously reloading and have fun with it. I am not most of anything I am an individual. You are yet again showing you work for the CDC and dont care about science. The 55gr bullet you suddenly entered into the conversation has the aerodynamics of a small parachute. And a bullet no serious shooter would use. There is a reason why the military went to the 62gr bullet. I shoot the 88gr Hornady that has a BC of .545. You are nothing more than a typical wanabe school yard bully/crybaby that cant handle it when someone thinks outside the box. What are you referring to that is going 600fps? Yet again you dont care about science or that I am shooting a 88gr bullet you just change the parameters to meet your karen/snowflake needs. People like you that suffer from "Mass Formation Psychosis" Just cant handle the truth. You clearly know nothing about ballistics. Dr Faultchy has a phd and like you does not care about science. And since you threw science out the window and changed the parameters to meet your karen needs I do not believe you have a phd. You are all talk and no show typical karen. If you want to discus the ballistics of the 88gr bullet bring it on. Dont enter the 22 long rifle into the conversation. But that would require thought you are not capable of.
