I own a Fulton Armory M1. Things a peach and it runs like a Rolex watch. Shoots great out to 300, dropped a 250 lbs hog last winter too!

That's good shooting at 300 yards.

It wasn't just for officers only. It was meant for all those who served in the rear such as mortar crews, artillery men and the like

Nice video, but some corrections are needed, It was the DCM in the 60's and you were only allowed 1 in your lifetime. Williams didn't invent the M1 Carbine, Winchester did, Williams came up with the gas tappet system while serving in prison and as a result, he was hired by Winchester as part of the team that worked on the M1 Carbine, He was supposedly difficult to work with, had his own ideas and as a result had very little input on the final outcome other than his tappet gas system. The Carbine is a nice little rifle but 80 years later we have better choices, although it does make a great home defense gun, it was never intended to be a go to war gun. For what it was, when it was, it was perfect.

You are correct and I almost went with DCM. I was worried people would not remember the DCM.

One of my Dad's cronies back in the day had a carbine, he said it kinda followed him home from the Army! Dad was Signal Corp. in WWII and an Infantry officer later on, told me that he preferred the carbine to the regular M1. Sometimes it hurts when your parents bring shame to the family.

Smart man. Ammo in the gun equals time in the fight.

@@jacobmccandles1767 To paraphrase Col. Cooper: Two light blows do not do the work of one heavy one, as any boxer can tell you, but Dad wasn't a boxer either.

@@faryldaryl3975 strangely enough mine was. He was also a buckshot hunter from Northern MN, and he got ahold of a shotgun and used it. This was one action, a prize crew operation. His regular duty and battle stations didn't involve individual weapons.
