There's something special when it comes to first KH, at least for me. The calm and chill sections between all the chaos in the game are so soothing and i remember it with such fondness. Entering Traverse town when the theme hits, pure nostalgia! It's another one of those PS2 games that i got without knowing what the hell it was even when i got it, which just made it for even better experience.
Haven't touched a single Kingdom hearts game. As a hardcore Final Fantasy is it worth getting into. Heard its quite overwhelming and apparently the Final Fantasy cameos slow down later into the series
Hard to say really. Until recently i would be the first one to say hell yes it's worth it, but it seems that many people have problems getting into the series, especially 1st KH game, due to it showing its age i guess, mainly control-wise. As far as FF stuff goes, i wouldn't jump into the series with hope of getting a FF fix, as it's more of a novelty, at least in my opinion. For example, in first KH game, while you'll see Cloud, Sephiroth, Yuffie, Squall and so on, focus is a lot more on Disney movies, where you'll visit worlds from that universe, accompanied by Disney characters. However, i would say to give it a go if you have free time, at least to check it out, as who knows, maybe you end up liking it, as there aren't really any games like it, and it has a special charm to it. The story gets quite overwhelming, especially if you try finding out about it from someone else without playing the game, but good thing about it is that you don't need to get the whole thing to understand what the games are about and to enjoy them.
I agree, it might be challenging to dive into the series now if you start from the first one. Instead, consider playing just the four games listed below and watching the storylines of the others (you can find tons online). Though playing each game remains the best option, it's not feasible for everyone. You can focus on the best ones that are critical to the plot and have aged better than the others: KH II Final Mix KH Birth by Sleep HD KH Dream Drop Distance HD KH III
I love kingdom hearts too, but for the last game (kh3) why final fantasy characters are missing ? And why there's not the dubbing for the European languages like the other principals opus ? We're missing the fun of FF and the voices of actors we had before, it's very frustrating .
The first kingdom hearts for me on ps2.. had ff chatacters like tidus n wakka.. was classed as cheesy n childish because.. disney... Yet i fell in love But for me when sora unlocks his heart to save kairi Im 34 now n still have a lil metal oathkeeper keychain on my car/house keys Along with the cult symbol from farcry 5 but thays a different story
Never compare Riku with Sasuke. Sasuke is a selfish prick, while Riku did all that to protect His friends from the beginning. He just being swayed by the darkside, for a while...
Yeah true, but like you said, both characters definitely went through a similar journey, from being enveloped in darkness to becoming solid allies in the fight against it. Sasuke was pretty much swayed/orchestrated into the dark side by folks like Orochimaru, Obito, and even his bro Itachi, who groomed him to become a vengeful prick (Itachi wanted Sasuke to take him down eventually, as payback for wiping out their clan).

Kingdom Hearts is such an experience that stays close to me. I wonder how you feel about Melody of Memory.
I'm playing through KH1 on PS2 and really enjoying the nostalgia trip 😊
I remember playing Kingdom Hearts so much that Donald and Goofy kept showing up to fight alongside me in multiple consecutive dreams one night.

Yeah, the FF chracters did fall off in later entries 😔
Never played the dlc but I’ve heard they added the FF characters to the dlc
