- Now that we've discussed the best things about Final Fantasy spin-offs, direct sequels, and online games, it's time to flip the script and talk about the worst things. I hope you're ready because I won't be pulling any punches.

Can we all just say that Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates: DS. Was FIRE!
I hope to play it someday. I've been receiving comments on other videos saying that it's the best one in the Crystal Chronicles games.
The story made my cry multiple times ... the ost is so fcking gorgeous
It's underrated af for sure
To be fair in regards to Final Fantasy 11, it has gotten much easier to solo due to the Trust system (where you summon clones of NPCs to act as extra "players").
You missed some golden opportunities on Final Fantasy Tactics... You can aim Rapha's Truth/Sky Mantra skills, Malak/Marach's Untruth/Nether Mantra skills, and/or Reis's Holy Bracelet/Holy Breath attacks all at a single enemy and almost never hit. Cloud's Limit Breaks in this game take way too long to "charge" to be useful. And Balthier's unique Barrage attack can do critical damage in the first shot, pushing the enemy back a square, so that the next three consecutive attacks miss!
One of the worst things about the VII Remake, was that they replaced the original voice cast for the main characters with different actors. Now while it makes sense for a remake to different cast members, the fact that the original voice cast actually did do recordings for the FFVII Remake, only for them to get replaced by actors who had to redub all of their lines is just insulting. I hated Caleb Perce as Zack, same goes to Tyler Hocleyn as Sephiroth, it makes me feel bad for the compilation actors, since most of them did a pretty good job in games like Crisis Core, or movies like Advent Children.
I actually did get a chance to play Dirge of Cerberus recently. Usually, shooter games aren't really my thing, but I did find the game enjoyable. Even beat the hard mode and got the Manaheart and Ultima Weapon items. My beef with it is the "Extra Missions" after the game. Defeat 100 enemies as Cait Sith? With no giant Moogle to do the attacking for him, no Dice or Slots Limit Breaks, and no Materia AT ALL?! I got stuck at an impasse. Go directly to Game Over, do not pass Go, do not collect 200 Gil.
Great video as always. But man, I really want to listen to your honest opinions about the best dark / mature JRPGs such as Eternal Poison, Front Mission, Parasite Eve, Shadow Hearts, Vagrant Story, Valkyrie Profile, Xenogears, etc. Hope you could make a video about them one day.

Alright I can agree with everything you said about the games I've played here. But don't you dare diss "activating combat mode"! That's a treasure and you know it!

@@blastfromthepastgaming honestly you tore into these games so good that for a moment I forgot that you actually like final fantasy.
A couple more golden opportunities for Tactics: Mustadio and Rapha rushing towards the enemy ranks to get killed, earning the player a Game Over before there's even an opportunity to select a single command!
Revenant Wings is actually a continuation of XII's story, but has a completely different plot all its own. Playing the game, to me... felt like it could have made an awesome Final Fantasy Tactics-type game... if some actual effort could have been put into the game's development. The touch screen "controls" just don't work that well.
I'm still thinking, what are your thoughts on Crisis Core's DMW? I personally have never made up my mind if it's awesome or annoying

In my "Best Thing" & "Worst Thing" videos, my personal thoughts mostly align with the positive (Best Thing) because I'm not a pessimistic gamer and I'm generally easy to please 😂. However, I can certainly see and understand both sides and am open to different perspectives when it comes to gaming.
Maybe it just needed a few tweeks huh? Like excluding certain key upgrades like leveling up so progress wouldn't feel random.
About your best/worst idea, i agree completely; i'd rather enjoy my games for what they are instead of complaining about every detail or imperfection
Crystal Chronicles, my beloved...you deserved SO much more than Square Enix ever deigned to give you. Even in the remaster. Those Link Cables couldn't have been worse for a game that was otherwise experimental in the most interesting of ways.

Everything said about FFXIV is way off base. I feel like you've never even played it.
I think saying 'Everything' is too much, I get that the gameplay and story critique can be extreme (which is the point of this) but the predatory nature in its monetization is kind of a common knowledge nowadays and shouldn't be that far off.

@@blastfromthepastgaming The monetization of it is... not predatory. It's pretty standard fare for an MMO.
Your take on the story is legitimate, but only regarding the base game (pre-expansions). Also, FFXIV's community is widely regarded as far more welcoming and far less toxic than the majority of MMOs'.
@@blastfromthepastgamingthis is the worst video you’ve made dude. If you have no fucking idea about the game then don’t talk about it. As of today final fantasy xiv is the best mmorpg in the market and they even give you a free trial that lets you play all the content of the base game plus the first expansion. And predatory? Dude this game is not world of Warcraft, you only pay of expansions and that’s it you have hours and hours of fun.
