The Ki-200 is like the Zero. If all goes well, the maneuverability makes it feel like you are playing a point-and-click adventure game while the enemy team is playing a survival horror game, but both planes require the enemy team to underestimate its abilities or they will just run away, leaving you in the dust.
But dang does it feel good to make MiG-15 pilots go vertical and stall and make Sea Vixens panic when they can't get a lock on your pine plane.
The ki200 is fast tho

In the right hands, this thing fucks. Its size + thrust makes it quite maneuverable especially in tight dogfights. I really wish gaijin would set planes that were made at the same time against one another instead of the hodgepodge performance balance, when at the end of the day its a fucking video game.
@@EncrypticMethods Hard pass on historical balance. You would just see a glut of stuff like 262s and 163s fighting props (some of which are all the way down at 4.0) all the time. It would suck. I was around when the 163 was 7.0 and it was pure torture trying to pull a win, even in something like the sea meteor at the time. There's just too many examples of one country getting a high performance vehicle out the door quickly. It makes for a deeply unfun game when one side curbstomps the other constantly.
The issue isn't performance balancing, it is that gaijin sucks at it. Besides they mostly balance on player statistics, not performance.
@@FumbleSquid i was stuck with j26 in 7.3-8.3 ground rb for a while, 262s were easy prey while they were ground pounding. If air rb didnt highlight all of the spotted players on the map it might be different (for historical balance). One thing I like about dogfights in ground rb, you have to actually see the enemy pixel flying much easier to ambush.
@@EncrypticMethods I dislike that immensely about it because it becomes less about your skill as a dogfighter (fun and engaging), and more about just ambushing people (boring).
I would probably quit WT if air RB got rid of their spotting system.

I got my most satisfying gun kill in this thing. Turned and dropped down on a enemy bombing, aimed, and one tapped him. The guns are the most difficult thing about this plane to get used too.
I think you'd love the 20mm ME163. The 4 20mms it has and tons of ammo makes it amazing. It does suck how it has a high repair cost and is 8.7 so it always gets uptiered
He made a video about the m163, the problem with its gun are the velocity, you shoot at the start of the runway, the bullets will hit the end of it
I used to fly the Me163 about 5 years ago, you make aiming those cannons look easy. In most of my matches I got 0 kills.
This is the Japanese one with much higher velocity guns

I generally set my guns to no convergence and fire at aircraft at .4km reason being is it helps to shotgun aircraft

This thing is an absolute BEAST in Sim. The low thrust efficiency is fucking *insane* so you just cruise around low alt at 15% thrust and it turns that 5 minutes fuel into an easy half hour at least with good gliding. Then you just need to bait people into low speed fights and they're completely incapable of matching your maneuverability.

When I was playing with Ki-200s and Me 163s, most of the deaths were caused by vultures on the airfield.
And now, We have airfield SAMs in Jet RB match lmfao
I decided to load up black ops 3 to play some zombies after the video, and right as the a10 appeared at 2:55 I got the little spooky aaaAAAaaah, comedy gold
The Me 163 and Ki 200 are MASSIVELY underperforming.
They should be able to climb at 70° easily but stall at 30° in game...
According to the USAAC, the Me-163 would climb at 430 mph and would reach 22,000 ft altitude within 2:30 min.

At the same time they're massively overperforming as the ability to throttle the engines wasn't there at the start or was very limited after some improvements
Not played WT since I found myself in a ww2 Jpanese plane fighting.........Germans - but the BR for the ki200 is just insane. Has ALL the immersion now vanished from this game? Keep the good work up though - I wouldn't bother with WT at all without your videos - I do miss the flight sensation

Ki 200 belongs at 7.7
Me 264 belongs at the same BR as a b 29, and so does ju 288c
Biggest problem is uptiers, me163/ki 200 would be balanced at 7.3-7.7 but every 6.3-6.7 prop who got full uptier would be completely seal club and will not be able to do anything.
Gaijin need to remove uptier/ separate era before any kind of proper balancing can be done

Honestly the Ki-200 is way overtiered lmao. I've recently brought the R2Y2 Kai V1 to 8.7 while playing with some of my pals and even that does better than the Ki-200, MiG-15s never expect to be outmaneuvered by a R2Y2 in the horizontal XD. And the 4 30mms with 150 rpg honestly makes learning the 30s a breeze.
The v3 is great so much power drag, about as fast might be lighter
Will you make a video on the Me 262s with the rocket boosters as well. I find their gameplay much more interesting than that of the Me 163/Ki 200.
Both differ quite a bit in how they play, C2b Has both more power and is more nimble, so you can get away with some stuff where in C1a you would just die.
C1a you have to help your team as much as possible. It's not a "carry plane" due to its low endurance (less than 3 min of booster and 6 min of fuel) an how fat it is, you won't be clutching anything. The plane however still Has pretty decent top speed and acceleration with boosters engaged. It's enough to disengage from pretty much everything up to 8.0, maybe with exception of La-200.
So again, you have to use your boosters to move from temmate 1 to teammate 2 pretty fast - and to extend away from iffy fights yourself. Due to all the above YOU CAN'T BE PASSIVE in that plane.
C2b on the other hand is signfificantly better, although you should still play it largely the same, but now you can extend away even from higher BR planes due to your crazy accel - despite having worse top speed, you can also energy trap people much easier.

I expected ammo capacity to be an issue - at low tier wasting people's ammo is a viable strategy. For example, if a spitfire tail sits on a B-25 and spams at it he probably has less than half his cannon ammo left by the time he gets the kill. Bait him into wasting the rest of it, then you can confidently fight him with anything that has a tail gunner. The skill level at high teir is something else. I'm gonna hit this wall of pain soon.

And they halved the explosive charge in those 30mm recently, just to nerf the lower Br planes. Gaijin sometimes literally forgets or does not pay attention to certain planes.

i would even go as far to give it the same treatment as the Panther II, since the Ki-200 (really should be the J8M) it was only a project for the IJAAS and IJNAS, built in small numbers for testing purposes.

The KI200 and ME163 are not worse or better than one another, The ME163 and KI200 have slightly different playstyles and one is going to be garbage depending on who you talk to.

You do not need missiles if you are the missile
Easy way to balance them, keep them historically accurate and keep the game just being a game and not a super realistic simulator is to add an overheating mechanic to them(and the 262s) so that when you overheat there is a chance you will explode. Say 1% in the 1st second, 2% after 2 seconds etc, and the time does not reset when not overheating. That way this is still Random like it was in real life, but also you will never explode if played correctly.

why is the me-163 with the 30mms 8.0 while the ki 200 shares the same 8.7 battle rating as the me 163 with the 20mms?
The 30mms in the Me-163B-1 are awful. The Me163B-0 gets 20mm MG-151s. The Ki-200 gets very good 30mms which are also better than the MG-151s I guess. But the performace is a bit worse than the Me-163.
