Awesome! Omg best vid on YT for cleaning brakes. What did did came out great and I agree, grease is a magnet for dirt/grit! Thank you so much for this.
Soap & hot water , one of the question in the break ASE certification test. I use both methods, first break cleaner to remove grease and grime, than Hot soapy water to finish the job. So why Hot soapy water? Because the micro metal dust particles cling to the soap suds (rust dust) and water flushes them off the rotor.... And, if you ever take the time to actually read the instruction on installing new break pads, you would read were the manufacture suggest cleaning with Hot Soapy Water.....
Dawn is great I’ve been using it for a couple of years now. It has replaced Simple Green, Brake cleaner, and GoJo for most of my jobs. That’s right, I use it to clean my hands after a greasy job! For rusty parts I mix it with a little barkeepers friend to remove the rust.
I'm going to try this next time. Brake cleaner is also corrosive to the rubber components over time, but the soapy water is not. On the other hand, brake cleaner will evaporate quickly so there is less chance of flash rust.
@@AliMECH I have Toyota Sienta NCP81G model automatic CVT transmission, my rear shoes/handbrake and gear fuid and transmission filter need changing, would help a lot if you could show proper way of doing this on Toyota 👍
I’m having a hard time removing my drum. There isn’t a drill hole to place a screw. Can I spray wd40 or pb blaster in the drum/brake area if I can pry it open enough to spray inside? Or will this not help. Thanks if anyone can help. Love your channel btw!!
It's easier to not use brake cleaner, it's just like washing wheels, you don't need to use brake cleaner when washing your car, just water and soap is enough
Wait. Are you comparing spraying brake cleaner and gravity to soapy water WITH scrubbing brushes and a rinse? And the method with scrubbing was cleaner? I don’t believe it….
Definitely it looks cleaner with soap and water. Thank you for creating this comparison video ❤
You are so welcome!
Wow, always wondered how to clean that for free 😊, thanks Ali
You’re welcome

You're right these parts are always in mud so soap is best. Thks.
I like to come back to your cleaning parts videos from time to time. 😅
Welcome back! Haha
this is the correct/proper way to clean brakes whether it be rotors or drums according to ASE
My hero. God bless you.
🙏🙏appreciate that brother
Vinegar, soap & water after seeing your video. BRAVO.
Dawn Spray Soap worked wonders on my drum brakes. Looked great.
Dawn ultra platinum cleaner dish soap ftw.
I used it to clean a diesel particle filter and it cleaned out so much soot it was brand new again.

Bless your heart for sharing, thank you!
You are so welcome!

It still doesn't needs to be replaced, but for the next video I show adjusting, but maybe on another car I will show changing

Sure, I added to my list
I personally scrub with simple green, then rinse with brake clean. Mind you this is on my personal vehicle.

Great, let me know
شكرا لك اخي علي
🙏🙏
It probably would have had the same result if you used the brush with either product.
Did the break cleaner break it down so you could clean it better with the soap and water though?

water & soap is much better ,cleaner the best!
Superb
Thanks
🎉🎉
🙏
Dish soap and water is much much better option
Definitely

Don't use dish soap. It has salt in it. Use a salt free detergent e.g. car shampoo.
Thanks
No problem
Like new

Water looks to be much better
I agree
Why were you cleaning them
i will show the adjusting prosses which it will be for the next video
What did I miss?
You could use safety glasses/ goggles and a N-95 disposable mask .
